We love love love Dr. Tabsh. I started seeing Dr. Tabsh after I found myself expecting soon after a bad delivery/c-section. I had heard he was good for high risk pregnancies, but knew nothing about him or his practice. I did not know if I was considered high risk, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. I read yelp reviews, made a mental note of the bedside manner comments, and read more about Dr. Tabsh's career than I care to admit. Ultimately, knowing that I could not go back to my prior ob gyn, my husband and I decided to give Dr. Tabsh a call. At the very least, we would have a competent doctor and would have continuity of care through delivery. My experience with Dr. Tabsh and his office was better than I could have ever expected. Dr. Tabsh is quiet during scans, which initially did not work well with my health related anxieties. I asked a lot of questions about what he was writing down and what he was focusing on. He answered all my questions with patience and detail. In general, I believe that you have to be the best advocate for yourself and for your health. However, I did not fully realize how skilled and good Dr. Tabsh was until I called his office with a concern, and he told me to go to the hospital to get checked out. It turned out I was in fact in pre-term labor at 32 weeks. The hospital called Dr. Tabsh and 5 minutes later he was there. He was in charge of my care and took control of the situation. I did not need to ask many questions since I had an advocate and had no reason to doubt Dr. Tabsh. When pre-term labor could not be stopped, Dr. Tabsh returned at 1 a.m. for the delivery. It was by far my most complicated c-section but also the easiest recovery. Dr. Tabsh stopped by every day I was in the hospital. He also went to see my baby in the NICU everyday until the baby came home 3.5 weeks later; I did not hear this from Dr. Tabsh but from the NICU doctors. He truly loves his job and the babies! Now to address the concerns on some of these reviews: I did not have to wait long to see Dr. Tabsh. The longest wait time was 1.5-2 hours, which occurred only once. But I did not have any kids with me so it felt like a vacation to read a book in peace. I also called in advance to see if Dr. Tabsh was running late. If he was running late, I would just go a little later. Dr. Tabsh will not gush over the baby's kidneys and heart, but he will take 100 measurements of each organ to make sure that everything is okay and nothing is missed. If something were to go wrong with the pregnancy, delivery, or the baby, there is no one better to have in charge of your care. I also loved Dr. Tabsh's staff. They were all lovely and professional. I did not have a negative experience with anyone in the office. I enjoyed spending time with them. I doubt I will need an ob gyn again, but if I do, I am sure my first call will be to Dr. Tabsh. read more

I owe Dr Tabsh my life. I had a crazy scar pregnancy and at 15 weeks I had major complications. My perinatologist and OBGyn wanted me to see him because they didn't know what to do with me. I started bleeding out and Dr Tabsh performed a emergency partial hysterectomy. We unfortunately lost the baby and my ability to carry any children, but I was alive and had my ovaries. A year later we implanted into my sister in law and now we have our daughter! I visit Dr Tabsh every 6 months so he can see the joy and gratitude I have for his incredible knowledge. Dr. Tabsh is definitely one of best OBs you can have in LA. I just delivered my beautiful twins with him. It is such a blessing having him and his team taking care of us. He doesn't talk much but he takes good care of you and the baby (babies). I always ask him to tell me more about the babies. He usually says they're good. Haha that's it. We always joke he is the man with few words. We usually wait 20 min - 3 hours for our appointment. We never complain about the waiting because we know how hard he works and there must be an emergency or difficult cases. He is a hero. He saves lives and brings joy to family. I do feel those people who complains about wait time do not deserve to be his patients. I appreciate all the care he gave to me and my babies. Dr. Kareem (his son) is unpleasant, a bit rude, and has pretty awful bedside manner. Made me feel like something was wrong with me. First he said my bladder wasn't full enough so I let chugging water. Then later he said the baby was in the "worst possible position for him to scan" and seemed visibly irritated about this. His father stepped in (Dr. Tabsch) and he was fine, didn't say too many words which is ok because he's scanning the baby, but OUCH did he hurt me. He was digging the probe so deep in parts of my belly and pubic bone that at times I had to take deep breaths just to make it through the pain. I even shed a few tears. At one point I let him know it was really hurting me and it was clear he didn't realize he had been digging so hard which I found a little alarming. After the scan he told me to go back and see him at 30 weeks but I won't be. I'm sure he is very experienced at his work but with his super unpleasant son and the super painful scan with him, I just have to go with my gut and not go back. read more

I love Dr. Tabsh and his team. I feel so lucky to have each of them on my side. Dr. Tabsh is very concerned about patient and fetus health and takes zero risks. His love for his work and the unborn babies under his care, shines through, though he can seem kind of serious. Hopefully you'd be serious too if your job was a high-risk OB and I appreciate his focus. There's always a twinkle in his eye, though. There can be long wait times, but when you want the best doctor, you can expect they will be popular and busy. I have to agree with another reviewer - if your main concern is the wait time, this isn't the place for you, please move on and allow a high risk mama to take your place. Not sure where to start but not going into too much details, I want to say i don't Think I could bring my youngest daughter to this world with the mental ease I did with Dr. Tabish. He took care of me from 6th week. And he is so down to earth. I often cried in anxiety but his words "come anytime when you feel anxious" meant the world to me. He is best in his craft and a man with golden heart. I feel lucky he took me as his patient and brought my child to this earth. Yes he is not the most talkative person but if you ask about any concern he is the best person to explain you. yes scan can be painful at times but he is master of his craft. You need to trust him with his job. I had more than 15 appointments and may me 2 times he was running late. Lastly his office stuff and biller are breeze to work with/ very kind and pleasant. Absolutely thrilled with Dr. Khalil and Dr. Kareem Tabsh's private practice. I was a patient at UCLA and continued at MFMCSC because no one is better. The doctors office looks and feels like a high end spa. Every room, even the bathroom, is absolutely gorgeous and state of the art. Staff is wonderful and have become like girlfriends. A first class, seem-less experience since opening in January (This will be my second delivery within a 15 month window at MFMCSC). Dr Khalil Tabsh is a world renowned high risk ob / perinatologist with a heart of gold. Unparalleled expertise, wisdom, compassion, care and commitment to patients. This man is a national treasure. Somehow, his accolades have not gone to his head. He's down to earth and a masterful physician all in one. One of the great hero's in my life. I switched to Dr. Tabsh half way through my pregnancy after multiple referrals to him and a general desire for better attention to detail. My one and only regret is that I had not made that switch sooner! I read the reviews and some of the things you'll read are true. You will wait, sometimes for hours. Guess why? The doctor is committed to his patients and their safety and he is there for you when it counts. Trust me, when you need him to deliver your baby your last concern will be the wait time for the patients in his office. When the time comes you'll get it and be super grateful! He's not going to give you warm fuzzies and sprinkle your day with sunshine. He will tell you what you need to know, he will tell you if anything is wrong, he will anticipate a problem and fix it so that you are always safe. Ok, these negative reviews about wait time drive me crazy. Do these people realize that they are waiting bc they are, in fact, not seeing a standard OB but a world class Perinatologist? Literally top 3 in the entire US? When he is running late, it is literally bc he is saving a high risk baby and mother, performing an incredibly risky procedure or delivery, etc. The gall to say he doesn't respect people's time is appalling and you clearly don't realize how lucky you are to be able to wait, for your baby to be able to wait. Frustrated about his lack of words or dry bedside manner? Great! He doesn't have much to say to you bc everything is likely ok! You are so lucky and he is not wasting any more of your precious time after the long wait, and instead he is saying you and baby are healthy and moving on. Be thrilled! If you have a low risk pregnancy, no need to see Tabsh. But, if like me, you have a higher risk pregnancy (hyperemesis, and a 9 day prodromal labor ending in emergency c section that Tabsh and my OB both performed, saving me from bleeding out), he has unparalleled experience and patience. This is a man who held my hand as I was sobbing through my pregnancy and said to me several times, "I'm so sorry your pregnancy is so hard - you are going to get through it" and told me dad jokes. Dr. Tabsh works incredibly hard, 6 days/wk 9am to past midnight. He's not taking leisurely lunches that increase your wait time. He is delivering 1lb babies, saving moms, counseling families in need. If you have been referred to Dr. Tabsh for a simple scan - ie a Nucheal Translucency - I strongly encourage you to ask your doctor for another referral. I visited the office two weeks ago and can easily say it was the most uncomfortable and unsettling doctor's appointment I have ever had. The office staff was kind and I waited very little but my time with the doctor was a nightmare. I was prepared for an abdominal ultrasound and waiting on the table for the doctor to arrive. When he did, he barely greeted me. The door to the room was not closed, and another doctor - his son, I later learned - walked in unannounced. Dr. Tabsh just handed him the wand and said "do you want to do it"? No communication with me, just handed off without information on who this was. He started the exam and had trouble finding the baby. As a first time pregnancy, this is of course unsettling. He told me to empty two cups of urine - but I had been told to arrive with a full bladder. I asked if everything was ok and he very absently said "you'll see". I was then told it would need to be a vaginal ultrasound by Dr. Tabsh - again, no explanation, and I was concerned and scared something was wrong. At the point in pregnancy I was at - vaginal ultrasounds are also not recommended. Apparently this was irrelevant. I felt incredibly uncomfortable with the lack of communication and general 'way' of both Kareem and Khalil - and should have left at this point. Instead I ignored my gut, and followed their 'expert' instructions. I was prepared for a vaginal ultrasound - Khalil did not leave the room, and was sitting at his computer typing while a nurse undressed me. He then very aggressively approached and started the exam. The whole time he did not communicate at all - apparently reading other reviews this is common - but given that this was a change in plans from standard procedure/what I was prepared for, it was scary and anxiety inducing. The real cherry on top was that the baby was in a position he did not like - so instead of encouraging the baby's movement naturally (ie drinking cold water, etc) - he began literally jamming the ultrasound wand up my cervix. Not only was this painful - it also was completely inappropriate and insane. There was a kind woman from the desk standing there as a witness. I understand why she did not feel empowered to speak up, but it was humiliating and frightening. I've also been spotting for a full week as a result of the invasive and aggressive nature of the exam. All in all the exam lasted an hour and a half, and maybe 3 sentences were exchanged. At the end, he told me the baby was too small and not growing correctly - then changed tack and told me the head was too big and the body was too small - both of which, he mentioned, are 'problematic'. When I finally spoke up and asked - could it just be that the baby was in a more curled up position? - he said "could be". What doctor starts with a worst case scenario? It seems like he was covering for his incompetence. While I do not doubt that Dr. Tabsh has helped women in the past - it seems to me that he is, at this point, not suited to be practicing medicine. I later learned that he fell asleep in the midst of an exam later that day. I sincerely hope no one else has this experience - and also feel compelled to share this in the hopes of preventing it happening again. read more

I was advised by my OB/GYN to see Dr. Tabsh as I wanted to get pregnant a second time and she considered me high risk. I called Dr. Tabsh and was told that he had to review my case to decide if he would take me as a patient. After answering a lengthy list of detailed questions about my situation, I was told that if I don't get a call back he will not take me on. Weeks later I get a call asking me if I still want an appointment. I explained that I had been waiting for the coveted call back to which I was told "oh we thought we'd called you back already." I scheduled an appointment and then ended up having to reschedule it because I had to pick up my 4 year old early from camp and he does not allow kids in the office. I was told it would be no problem to reschedule it and I would get a call right back. A week later I get a call back saying he decided not to see me, won't allow me to reschedule and honestly didn't realized I wasn't already pregnant and he's not taking on consults right now. Worst treatment of a patient in a vulnerable situation that I've ever seen. Way to honor your word. I was told that he might open up to consults again soon. NO THANK YOU. Horrible. read more

Dr. Tabsh is an amazing doctor! He is very knowledgeable and makes sure your baby and you are safe throughout the pregnancy. He made sure my baby boy was born healthy via c-section due to my history (on 10/17/2015). I would highly recommend him to anyone who is a high risk pregnancy patient. From what I have read about the past 25 years, Dr Tabsh has been one of the best doctors in the world at HIGH RISK PREGNANCY. He takes hard cases and long shots. That also means he has to deliver a lot of bad news. He was our OBYN 25 years ago for our 3d child. We got Dr Tabsh because we had a HIGH RISK PREGNANCY. We were 40 when we started having kids. The nurse called him in while my wife was getting an ultrasound. He checked and told us there was no hope of a happy outcome. We got a 2nd opinion, the same bad news. I am a retired Army LTC. I not a hero, but I have known some. Dr Tabsh is a hero. He takes tough jobs, makes tough choices, does what others can't, delivers bad news when he has to, and recommends courses of action. If you have a simple pregnancy, if your concerns are wait time and bedside manner, I don't think you need Dr Tabsh. read more

Where do I begin? I wish I would have been warned about the wait time before scheduling an appointment with this doctor. If I had, I would have gone to someone else. My appointment was scheduled for 5pm. I ended up seeing Dr. Tabsh after 9pm. Why even make appointments?! When I called at 4:30 to see how far he was running behind (as they'd asked me to) the turbo-bitch nurse told me he hadn't even arrived, there were 6 people ahead of me, and I needed to call later. Um, pretty sure I was scheduled at 5? But OK. I'll call back. When I called again a little after 5, they assured me he was 2 hours behind, so I should arrive at 7. I did. Not only did I wait over 2 hours once I got there, but you have to have a full bladder for the ultrasound so I was MISERABLE and in pain the whole time!!!! I was finally taken into the exam room after 9pm, and Dr. Tabsh was already in there doing some charting. He didn't turn around, say hello, apologize for the wait: nothing!!! He sat with his back to us for 10 minutes in silence. I though I'd have to hold my husband back from knocking him out once he finally turned around. I seriously thought I was being Punk'd for a minute. When he finally began the exam, there was zero communication. He squirted me with the gel and started poking away. In silence. Throughout the entire exam, he never once told me what we were seeing on the screen, what he was doing, and he never even used my name! I felt like a lab rat on his table. The coldest and most distant bedside manner I've ever experienced. Barry P. called it right when he said Dr. Mengele could have been more pleasant. When it was (thankfully) over, he literally just walked out and left. Um, so I guess we're done here? The nurse tossed some paperwork at me and told me where the bathroom was. So I'm guessing that's her way of signaling, "All set here!" I was blown away by the level of unprofessionalism I experienced in this office. At a time in your life when you should be feeling your happiest, this place made me feel the worst. I'd rather drive the 405 at 5pm on a weekday than see that guy ever again. read more

2pm was the appointment. 2.50 we asked how much longer and the answer was "Another 30 minutes". However, the other woman in the waiting room told us that her appointment was already over an hour delayed and she had still to be seen. When she was finally called in, we waited for a while, before asking how long they said it would be. Again, they said about 30 minutes. We saw the woman who had been in the changing room sitting outside of a room and she said she still hadn't been seen. We left. Here's the thing: The doctor might be great, I have no idea. His business must be great, since he was so busy, which is great for him but not to respect our time is not ok. Also, to keep lying about how long it'll be is not ok. So if you have 3 hours to spare, by all means, go visit. read more

I had such a strikingly bad experience with Dr. Tabsh, that I'm compelled to share it here. I had a 10:15 AM appt, but wasn't seen until 12:20 PM. The staff used the excuse that "isn't the wait this long at your OB?" No, it's never been two hours in my dozens of appts there AND when they are running late, they call to tell me so OR I can call and they give an honest response to when I'll actually be seen. A two hour wait here seemed to be the norm here and there were few apologies made. My brief 20 minute appt with the Dr. began with him entering the room and asking "you're 12 weeks?". No hello, I'm Dr. Tabsh, this is what I'm going to do today. In fact, no words were spoken the the entire appt. I felt ignored and that I was just patient 0. The entire 3 hours I spent in this office felt mismanaged. Three hours for literally 20 minutes with the doctor. I looked up at the screen during my ultrasounds and I asked "what are we looking at". His response "the neck". No, "here's the head, here's the body", nothing. I have no idea what you're doing and have never done this before, so I'd appreciate you at least walking me through what you're looking at inside my own body. The doctor has poor bedside manner, I received little to no direction from staff and kept having to ask questions. Overall it was a completely negative experience. No warmth or care, they just go through the motions here. There are so many vibrant doctors out there, I can't imagine I have any reason to return to one so seemingly checked-out. read more

I absolutely cannot believe all these reviews. If you want the best doctor possible for your delivery, look past all the "scheduling" issues, put your life on hold for a few months and see him. This guy works day and night tirelessly for his patients because he is that committed to his profession. He can be unbelievably rude but trust me , you will learn to look past it when you realize that he is giving you the best possible care! I have had some appointments at 11:00 p.m. after waiting for 2-4 hours sometimes but I was prepared for it, took snacks and books and walked around the hallways. Once I went at 28 weeks because I was having some contractions and he came in at 1:00 a.m. just to see me. Competence trumps all the other stuff. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, be aware that you are in for a bit of a rough ride, but Dr Tabsh will get you and your baby through it safely. Don't sweat the small stuff and don't take out your frustrations on Tabsh and his staff. When all is said and done, you will be extremely glad you had him on your team. It was an adventure getting our twins here. Dr Tabsh is our hero. We would trust him again and again. Do NOT listen to the haters. They need to understand that life does not revolve around them and that sometimes you have to go through hell to get to heaven. Working in the medical field, I must say...I was really impressed with Dr. Tabsh knowledge and expertise. I went in for 2 visit for 2 different ultrasounds and I was very happy with both visits. He took his time and checked every detail that needed to be addressed. I know he doesn't speak much while looking at the ultrasound but the fact that he takes his time and focuses on the read is perfect. I rather have someone who checks all the things for a healthy baby than a chatter box. I have heard that sometimes there are long waits to see him but I had no such issue both times. So... sure. The wait times are HORRIBLE and his bedside manner is far from cuddly, but he saves babies lives daily, so are you really going to give a guy like that less than 3 stars? About the wait times: If he is running 4 hours late it's because he probably saved 2 babies' lives today. Sure. It's annoying to sit there, but I'm pretty sure you're going to feel pretty good about "babies whose lives are in danger" coming first if it's your kid he's saving. Protip: you can call the office about an hour before your appointment time and ask how late they are running. I'm am beyond disappointed with my experience with Dr. Tabsh and his office. As you know, with pregnancy comes a lot of appointments and with that comes a lot of planning with work and life. I've been waiting for my 20 week screening for weeks and they called to 4pm today (the day before my appt.) to let me know that they need to reschedule for 2 Fridays from now. Furthermore, they called the wrong number to leave the message when I updated my profile last time I was at their office. Luckily it was my parent's house and they gave me the message. Most low rating reviews complaint about the long wait and staff and the doctor himself not being friendly. In my experience these are easily solved on your own end. After reading some helpful reviews here I always called in advance before an appointment and the staff were always nice enough to let me know whether i should actually come an hour later than the appointment time or 3 hours later than the appointment time. This indeed helped me save a lot of time waiting. When I actually went there usually there would be only one patient ahead of me. As for the friendliness, if you expect a restaurant waitress style of faking nice, of course you will be unsatisfied. The doctor and nurses are there to help you the best with their professional knowledge, not to please you, especially considering how long and intense they have to work everyday. When you enter the examine room Dr. Tabsh might not say hi right away and be busy with his own stuff. But he's not cold or rude at all. Actually I started to chat with him every time during the check and he was a very nice guy and had a good sense of humor. I don't have a high risk pregnancy and only go there for routine ultrasound checks referred by my own obgyn doctor. So I can't say much about his expertise but I have no problem with the above two issues and so far only have had good experience with Dr. Tabsh and the staff there. read more

"There is such a thing as an entitled and unreasonable patient..." OMG, this is an AMAZING statement. Siobhan, you are "entitled" to your opinion, as others are entitled to theirs. However, I, as many others, do NOT think it's unreasonable for patients, who are high-risk and experiencing a lot of stuff in their lives, to wait less than 4-5-6 hours for a few-minute appointment. I have NEVER, EVER, EVER heard of such waits, even with "top of the line", extremely competent, medically lauded, in-demand OB-GYNs. NEVER. Our other child was delivered at Brigham Women's Hospital, arguably the gold standard of hospitals, connected to Children's Hospital Boston. The prenatal care and delivery there -with the high-risk MFM team - were nothing short of stellar. I NEVER waited more than 10 minutes to see a doctor. The team of nurses assisting with the delivery weren't on their phones (as they were at UCLA Santa Monica). I was allowed to eat and drink afterward (yep). My postpartum appointments were fluid and unstressed. I was seen on-time, the staff was pleasant, and the doctor was pleasant and answered my questions. Dr. Tabsh is UNQUESTIONABLY a great doctor. However, high-risk medical care does NOT have to be conducted in this manner. Patients should NOT be waiting 4-5-6_ hours for ultrasounds. Nor should they be treated coldly or with indifference. I understand that Dr. Tabsh is doing important things when there is a delay. Looking at his office (stacked with unopened gifts from years past), you realize all he does is work. Truly, I understand the dedication. However, MOST OB-GYN offices DON'T OPERATE THIS WAY. Why the UCLA system can't/doesn't employ more than 2 MFM doctors is beyond me. But the system is ridiculous. Dr. Tabsh is one of the best MD i've ever met! i talk from experience since most of our friends are MDs/pharm D.s........... i was low high risk and he took great care of me. with my second pregnancy i lived in northern CA but didint trust anyone taking care of me and my baby so moved back for a year to los angeles and my husband stayed in the north for the whole 9 months. yes i trust him that much to do so!!!! as for the wait period outside yes, it is long, but what matter is your baby and your safety, just read a book and take a laptop to waist some time..... read more

Seriously people! The guy is a friggin' genius! I don't understand the one star reviews. I had all three of my kids delivered by him. Spoiler alert!!!! The MINIMUM wait time is 2 hours (bring a book, an iPad, work, etc...). He has NO bedside manners ( you can break that barrier by talking to him about current events). He does not explain anything while doing an ultrasound (you can ask him questions and he'll answer). His office staff can get testy (you would, too, if you had hormonal, pregnant women yelling at you all day long because he's running late)....advice: be extra nice to them and your appointment might be bumped up. He likes doing c-sections (since all of his patients are high risk, most of them need c-sections anyway...it's easier on his schedule. He uses antiquated machines (he's old school, and it works for him). He comes off arrogant but he's actually very nice. Now, for the reasons he's amazing and why all of the above is worth it....he's THE expert in his field. He has saved my childrens' lives and countless others. He has THE gift. He has an amazing intuition about what is going on and what needs to happen. Trust me, he's worth it. The wait is long and sometimes the doctor may not speak much but I trust that Dr. Tabsh is good at his job and cares about me and my baby. I would highly recommend him to anyone with a high risk pregnancy. Dr. Tabsh monitored four of my pregnancies and delivered my three children. He and his Santa Monica office staff are *wonderful*! His staff knew I was driving in from the Inland Valley and always made sure to have me seen by 2PM so that I could make it back home in time before traffic was horrible. When I miscarried, they brought me into another room while waiting for my D&C so that I didn't have to sit with the pregnant ladies in the waiting room. The office staff and nurses don't control Dr. Tabsh's schedule--they merely manage him, and often they don't have any more information than you do. If you ask them politely what is happening they can tell you what they know, which often isn't much. The reason they ask you to come in even if he is away on an emergency call is because he often goes back and forth between the clinic and where he is needed depending on the procedure being done. If waiting for an operating room, he pops back up to the clinic and sees a few patients, and then goes back to do the surgery. Flexibility is the keyword (which is good practice for motherhood, in fact). There are recliners in the waiting room, along with very kindly provided healthy snacks and drinks. Wheelchairs can also be gotten if needed. Yes, the wait times were long, and on a couple of occasions when he was called away I waited nearly all day. But when I had an emergency (twice!) and had to call him at 2 AM, he was not dismissive or impatient because of the early hour. Instead, he was kind, professional and (most importantly) immediately available for me. He can be warm and very funny, but some days there's a good chance he won't say much. He works extremely hard, and my husband and I often wondered when the man found time to sleep. He doesn't suffer fools, and he doesn't have time for numerous silly questions--you have to take some responsibility for educating yourself and asking questions that are relevant. That said, if he knows you are truly worried or afraid, he will be patient and generous with his time. I am sorry some others really haven't had positive experiences with him, because when he is wonderful he is very, very wonderful. I have no doubt my oldest daughter (now 5) and youngest son (almost 2) would not be here if he had not overseen my care. If you have any doubts as to his commitment to and love for babies, bring your child in to his office for a short visit and watch Dr. Tabsh's face completely light up. Thank god I am under Dr. Tabsh's care. I lost my first pregnancy at 17weeks under the care of another physician. When things went wrong, the nightmare was made worse because I had to drive all over LA to see different specialists, pay for parking at different locations and wait a very long time to see docs on short notice. Tabsh is embodies all of the specialists in one. Tabsh is internationally recognized and undoubtedly one of the best high risk OB / perinatologists in America! Wait patiently for him in the comfort of a doctor's office with your phone, magazine or take a nap. Don't like it, don't see him. There is a reason women wait so long for appointments. On my second visit , I waited over 2 hours. Tabsh was quiet and didn't communicate much. Reason, he delivered 2 babies in the early hours of the morning prior to seeing me. On my third visit, at 8:30-9pm, he caught a problem that could have resulted in the loss of my pregnancy. He took his time and assured me we would not lose this baby. Tabsh and his amazing staff, namely Nancy, treat each patient with TLC, respect and patience. They deserve the same. Ladies, let's count our blessings and be patient with doctors and staff. Especially in this arena. They are not just there to tend to us, but countless others. Tabsh's knowledge and experience can't be matched. Dr. Tabsh unveiled to me what a first-class (or even world class) doctor really is. I truly believed the medical procedure he performed on my wife (twin pregnancy) was the difference between life and death. My wife delivered the babies and we are overjoyed. He is a pioneer in his field and his knowledge is superior. We felt extremely comfortable with his decision making (and he has a great personality and sense of humour). Expect to wait hours to be seen, do not expect small talk from him. But expect world class 5 star service. If you do not want to wait hours to be seen and you want a doctor who will chit chat with you and make small talk and be warm and fuzzy, do not see Dr. Tabsh. Dr Tabsh is truly a gem of a Dr. He really cares about you and wants the best for you, and you can feel it. He is conservative and safe in decision making, which is what I wanted in a high risk pregnancy. He is quiet and reserved in his mannerisms, although he did shock me with a joke and I found the fact that he was joking funnier than his actual joke. He is passionate about his career, means well, is thorough, and very intelligent and experienced. I was fortunate enough to be under his care for most of my pregnancy, and I couldn't be more grateful. He found issues that my previous Dr didn't see. He was very patient with me during ultrasounds and answered all my questions, even my emotional worried questions; I never felt rushed. He is a rare type of person super dedicated to his career, and the ob field won't be as great when he retires. If you are high risk, Dr. Tabsh is the doctor for you. And if you are high risk, wait times are the least of your concerns. After two late term losses, we were referred to Dr. Tabsh. We drove from Pasadena to Santa Monica and sometimes waited several hours to see him. At 16 weeks he did an emergency cerclage. 1 month of bed rest at UCLA, an amnio, gestational diabetes, and high blood pressure - Dr. Tabsh delivered our healthy baby girl at 37 weeks. He visited every single day while I was on bed rest - including thanksgiving day. We owe our complete little family to Tabsh. He is really the best. You won't find another doctor who is so invested in his patients. read more
