I haven't been here in 20 years and it's as good as I remember! We called a few days ahead to reserve our dough, because they only make a certain number of pizzas a day. You can call at 10 am but they don't open until 4. You can't leave a voice mail to order or reserve dough. You have to speak to a person, which is how they like it. There are no computers, everything is done by hand. They serve only fountain soda and pizza. You can BYOB or bring in dessert. Lots of people were doing that. They are a cash only business so go prepared. There is a free parking lot on the corner labeled for Tacconelli's customers. City parking is always appreciated! You do have to walk about 1/2 a block up to get to the restaurant. Tacconelli's is in the middle of a block of row homes. The business sits under the Taconelli's family home who are 5 generations of bakers! Giovanni Taconelli is so welcoming and friendly. He is a proud one man, one oven shop, it says so on their menu. He makes every single pizza. He also allows you to come into the kitchen to watch him make your pizza in their unique oven. The pizza is super thin and light. Its so light that you can only have two toppings. You also probably eat more slices than usual so plan for that. We had the margarita pizza. Fresh mozzarella, sauce and basil. There are no prices on the menu but that was $25 a pie. It was so airy and not like any other pizza. The edges are chard to perfection. I loved cheese to sauce ratio and the basil was fresh. I brought some home and just ate a slice cold. It was equally delicious! All of the employees were very friendly. Our waitress had been there for 18 years! They have a small staff and a family vibe going on which I love seeing as a customer. Thank you to everyone there for making this such a cool experience.

Sausage and onions - highly recommended.

Fabulous. Pizza amazing - thin and crispy. Our server was super nice. Couldn't ask for more!

Tacconellis offers delicious pizza in the Port Richmond area. They have been around for awhile and offer an old school pizzeria feel. Highly recommend calling ahead they get busy and it can be a long wait. They do a thin style pizza crust and with that it is recommended you only do two toppings. Any more and the pizza won't be able to handle the toppings. Prices are pretty reasonable and if you are dining in there is plenty of seating available inside.

Still the best pizza in Philly. Service is always friendly and the ambiance is the pinnacle of neighborhood dining. Order the "Special" and one with sausage and onions. You're welcome.

BYOB! CASH ONLY! Deena our server was awesome! Super friendly and welcoming. She gave us great pizza recommendations. You have to call the day before to reserve your seats and let them know how many pies you want. They only make a certain amount of doughs/pizzas per day. Our party of 8 ordered 5 doughs, but it was not quite enough. We wish we ordered 6-7 doughs. The pizzas are super thin and crispy. We loved all the pizzas. My favorite was the pepperoni with hot and honey. The slight kick with a tad bit of sweetness went well with the pepperoni. The rest of my party loved the sausage and onion pizza most. We would pass on the plain mushroom because it was dry. Our server recommended half the pie to have mushroom and tomatoes which was much better! The crush tomatoes gave the pizza some moisture. Margherita pizza was delicious. I did not care much for the tomato pie because I much rather have cheese with some type of topping. The red sauce was a tad bit sour and salty for me on the tomato pie. The restaurant reminds me of an old pizza joint from the 90's. It's a super homey feeling. Between the 8 of us... 5 pizzas plus tips was about $20 per person.

Jumped back to Tacconelli's on a Friday night! Seated within 10 minutes of our reservation and our order was taken quickly. The waitstaff is always so accommodating. Took of dessert to the freezer, cups for drinks, etc. Nice touch. What Pizza's we got: -Special -White -Plain -Pepperoni All were VERY good. Only issue was the timing of the pizza. Two came out 25-30 minutes after our first two. I get it, there's a lot of demand in the place, but that's a little wild on timing. We'll of course always be back, but we're a tiny bit upset about the timing.

If you want pizza and don't want to feel heavy, try Tacconelli's. The crust is some of the thinnest I have ever had. We got the Margarita Pizza which was our favorite! Our Specialty Pie was white with spinach and chopped tomatoes. The way the spinach was cooked was reminiscent to a Bengali dish I grew up with which was cooked with shrimp typically. Upon entering, it's the dining area and there's no designated area for pick up. I was thoroughly confused and felt like I was intruding a birthday party and other guests. There are no signs! It's also cash only. I will say, the pies are expensive, especially since you're not getting much dough...

Tasty pizza in Philadelphia! We ordered four pizzas: margherita, cheese, red sauce with prosciutto and basil, and white sauce with mushroom and spinach. The sauce is very sweet and they put a lot of it, with not too much cheese. The crust is very thin and super crunchy (like a cracker). The white sauce has a strong garlic flavor. The prosciutto was very salty that complements the sweet red sauce. All the pizzas were great! You have to reserve ahead for the number of doughs. Four doughs was just not enough for six people (all men) because the crusts are really thin. The pizzas are $18-26 each. Plenty of seating inside. Really friendly waiters and speedy service.

Ordered take out. Friendly service, excellent service. Taconelli's has been on my pizza bucket list for years. I've heard great things and love the story of the business. Ordered for a special family dinner. Unfortunately, the pizzas were underwhelming (and expensive).

On my bucket list. Went with a friend on a Friday at 6:30 pm. I did call ahead to order the dough. We got two regulars-one with sausage (4 *) and one with mushrooms (3*) If you want Margherita style you can't order toppings. Took at least an hour from order to table. They said they only had one person in the kitchen. Pizzas are very thin and crispy. Sauce was too sweet for my liking. Waitress was very nice. Very much a local Philly atmosphere. Parking wasn't a problem. Glad I tried it and off my bucket list, but that's about it.

Holy smokes, I love it when I stumble upon a neighborhood gem. We attempted to eat here on a Friday night and were told to make a reservation for the next night. We did and they asked us how many pies do we think we will be ordering because they make the dough ahead of time to have it ready. Cash only and pizza only. The pies are about $23 each (no prices on the menu). The crust was so thin and the sauce so flavorful and simple.! I asked our waitress if it always like this, where you essentially cannot just walk in and hope to get a pie. She said Tuesdays and Wednesday's are the best days to just walk in. But beware with the holidays approaching and college kids coming back home to visit that it hets very busy. They have to have the best pizza in Philly.

The lady who answered the phone also was running the floor of the dining room. Boy did she know how to take care of a customer. She answered all my question on the phone. Reserved a dough earlier in the day for 6:30 reservation on a Friday. It's also BYOB & Cash Only! The pizza was delicious. The cheese to sauce ratio was outstanding. The crust was crispy and thin. I personally can't wait to try them again. I see why they are so highly rated in the City and on yelp. Even have a small lot for parking.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)

I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads. What a cute little restaurant. We came here for lunch and were promptly seated. Service was nice…read moreand courteous. They have an open kitchen so you can see pizzas being made in front of you. A little pricey but the sourdough pizzas are delicious. Loved the dough. They have a nice salad menu as well. We tried the butternut squash salad and it was pretty good. Definitely recommend.
