I've cream is good, but the burgers are just plain. Would highly recommend Wendy's or McDonald's.

I went through the drive-thru, but there was no menu posted anywhere. Since I had never been to this place, I asked to see a menu. The girl told me to loop back around and get back in line while I read the menu even though I had waited in a pretty substantial line already at that point. I ordered The Waverly Burger with fries but I only got a single since the pictures burger was so big. The actual burger was much smaller, and not worth $8, though rather tasty. The fries, however, were a huge disappointment. They were frozen Ore-Ida crinkle cut, you know the ones. Certainly not worthy of a place calling itself the "Shake Shack". Just be warned before you go, terrible customer service and overpriced, basic food. There were many people there, so this place is well loved, but my experience was not positive. read more

I can't in good conscience give this place 5 stars or even 4, but it is pretty good. We stopped in mostly just to say that we had gone to Arkansas (coming from Memphis), and we wanted some of the local fare. Well, this is it. They've got lots of fried foods -- their specialty is the fried pies. My fried pie, a caramel apple pie, had potential, but it was a little too high on the fried dough and too low on the apple. My wife's pie was a hot fudge pie, which was basically ice cream on hot fudge on a brownie, and was really quite good. We also got tater tots (because who can resist tater tots?). And we left a tad dejected that we didn't have the stomach space to try the Tang pie. Ah well. Oh, and it's super-cheap. I could have had a belly-busting meal there for about $6 (as it was, we had a couple of belly-busting desserts and a coke for $7). And it seems really popular with the locals, always a good sign. Anyway, if you happen to be driving down the 55 in Arkansas, it's worth a stop. read more

We had such a great experience here! Hubby and I drove from Michigan to Texas. I wanted ice cream, so searched on yelp and saw this place. Decided it sounded worth checking out. The place is decorated with lots of cute nostalgia! We seriously looked at the menu for 15 minutes cause it all sounded so good! Hubby had the Italian Stallion and was so engrossed in his burger he was very quiet! He also had the "ice cream cake". WOW. He lovvvvvved everything! I wanted to save room for ice cream, so I had a grilled cheese which was fine and the fried pickles-that were awesome!!!!! I also got a butterfinger shiver-- like a blizzard but way more candy in it!!! The owner was there and very friendly. We told him we were from Texas he pointed out his wife who is from Texas, his kids, and his mom (who started The Shake Shack with her late husband almost 40 years ago!). It felt like family and was such a wonderful experience. If we are anywhere in the area, we will be back. GO IF YOU CAN!!!! read more

Not very impressive. We ordered fries & 2 shakes, we received the fries & took 7 more minutes to get shakes. Fries became cold waiting on shakes, owner was there sitting on bar stool, would not make eye contact, they didn't offer to make some hot fresh fries after receiving shakes way later & after paying their high price for all of this, you would think they would be considerate enough to, but no. We finally got an opportunity on a recent Saturday afternoon to try this little gem. Truly a throw back to the old Mom and Pop malt shops. We opted for the mushroom Swiss burger and the meat maniac (aptly named, it even had a sliced hot dog on top). Both were served fresh off the grill, piping hot and delicious! This is a great spot for many reasons, most importantly because it is owned and operated by a wonderful local family that deeply cares about not only serving a good product but also about creating a better world. Big John's Shake Shack is located in Marion, Arkansas, just off I-55. Known for it's delicious and wide selection of milkshakes and burgers, it's also home to a nice collection of Elvis memorabilia. Recently, this dive affixed a world map to the wall where you can proudly display your home. Guests have come from as far as Asia (and as a surprise, the staff will try and speak Japanese with you if you allow them). The Shake Shack used to be open only during the week, but recently the ownership allowed a son (and headmaster of a local Christian school) to open on Saturdays and use proceeds to support mission trips around the world. This is a wonderful cause in my opinion, so our family tries and eat once a month here on Saturdays, where we dine on burgers, fries, tater tots and milkshakes. No, it's not healthy, but yes, it's good. To make it even better, there is homemade pie. Four stars and I am already looking forward to that next burger and shake. read more

A great burger joint in Marion, Ar. I had the John Wayne and it was amazing. The burger was fresh and juicy. Pulled pork and BBQ sauce mad it even better. The service was great. Everyone was very friendly. Was greeted as soon as we walked into the door. Highly recommend stopping if you are near this exit off I55 in Marion. Worth the visit. Amazing! We traveled home from Iowa to Texas and were looking for something to eat. With kids we didn't want to eat in the car so with good reviews we decided to give this place a try. We pull up on a Saturday night and were concerned there was not going to be room for our party of 8 because the parking lot was FULL! There was plenty of room inside and everyone was so friendly. Found ourselves pulling into the KOA a bit late, and needing dinner. Found this diner, and thought we'd give this local only place a try. So glad we did. The decor was all decked out in the 50's and everybody knew everybody and welcomed us as if we were one of the locals. We ordered and without disappointment had one of the best burgers we've had in a long time. Friendly hint, order their homemade chips. Let's not forget their homemade desserts and malts. Shake Shack recently moved into their new building, so they've got more room. However, I think the flavor was left behind. I had some great burgers at the former location but just went to the new place and my burger was completely flavorless. The legendary big John burger appeared to be a 1/2 lb of wholesale frozen burger patty. Oh and the chili had an overwhelming vinegar taste...I don't think chili has vinegar in it. I hope this was an isolated incident and everything works out for them. read more

Okay, who gives these reviews? The shake shack has only 6 or so flavors of ice cream. The rest is soft serve mixed with artificial flavoring. The hamburgers reminded me of times gone by... there is a reason they are gone; no moisture was left in this quashed patty. Don't get me started on the Mac and cheese. It was swimming in cheese oil. Stopped in at one of my childhood favorites today, it was not a disappointment! Ordered the John Wayne sliders, big flavor in small packages. The price was decent for three burgers and a side of tots or fries. The decor is a bit dated and the building could certainly use some repairs as there was a classic bucket catching the rain. This place is awesome! We drove across the river to get ice cream and found this place on Yelp. It's a super cute family owned diner that's been in the family for 40 years and for three generations. The current owner Jeff is super friendly and told us all about the establishment and helped to recommend what to get. Best milkshake I've ever had, easily. 24+ flavors to choose from and the ones I tasted were all supremely rich, creamy, and tasty. The consistency is just remarkable and the flavor was deep and not overly sweet. Just superb. Alas, the service was hit-or-miss--some of the employees were friendly, some were evangelical, some withstood all attempts to make communication.
