Let me just start by saying Rob and his wife are the nicest people I have met in quite a while. We stopped in based on prior reviews and I'm glad we did. Rob explained the top 5 on the menu to us and was happy to make a couple substitutions. His wife chatted with us while the burritos were being made (including making some audiobook recommendations for our road trip) and they both made us feel like friends of the family. The burritos were a knockout. In addition to my Gailene's Meat Lovin' Burrito, I snuck bites of the Karen's Maple Delight Burrito and the Bernadine's Shrimp And Avocado Burrito. I can highly recommend all 3. The seasoned hash browns were pretty awesome too. Thanks for a great breakfast and for making our Saturday morning! read more

The folks who work here are unfailingly polite, nice, and accommodating. The other morning I dropped by here for a breakfast burrito. It was substantial, delicious, and hot. I had asked for zero jalapeño peppers, but somehow the cook failed to follow directions. At least the jalapeños weren't terribly hot; so, I ate it anyway. I plan on returning here again soon, if only to try more of their menu offerings. read more

If you aren't broke from the casino, go to Mitchell's for a great burrito and service. Definitely get the hash brown with your burrito. The burritos are a nice size and they have wraps too. The Karen and Sonja burritos were my favorite. I'll definitely come back for the 3 alarm. read more

The food was amazing - fresh, made to order. We had turkey pesto, Karen's, veggie (added chicken) and Clarence grilled chicken. 100% for all 4! If you're traveling, there is no seating - only high top tables - and no public restroom (we didn't ask to use one in the back). Service was friendly and helpful. read more

We were greeted at the door by the owner - Robert Mitchell. What a pleasant encounter!! He took the time to describe each of the top sellers, all the ingredients (to include his own homemade/family recipes), and to give us a brief history of his business plan. (Did you know that each of the menu items is named after a family member and most of them match the family members' personality?? Apparently Aunt Kay is quite spicy and Aunt Karen is the sweet one.) Robert's chef cooked each of our dishes to order tweaking a few things to accommodate for preferences/allergies. Then Robert hand delivered them to us and waited for us to try them to ensure they were satisfactory (and hopefully life changing). THE FOOD AND PRICE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Love supporting local businesses. Robert- Sir, would you consider franchising? Your business model and recipes would flourish in my hometown. Please note: there are no public restrooms available. There are some chairs for sitting, but for the most part it is standing room. read more

A MUST STOP!! We stopped by Mitchell's on our way back to Virginia and let me tell you... THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITOS EVER!!! The entire experience was awesome. The owner greeted us and came out to go over the menu. He explained how each item was named after a member of his family and had a sweet family photo posted on the wall. We loved the personal touch! My husband and I ordered Kay's 3 Alarm and Karen's Maple Delight so we could share and have both! Who can pick just one?? Both were cooked beautifully and wrapped expertly and SO FULL OF FLAVOR. The Kay's packed the spicy punch it promised. I loved it! The Karen was savory and slightly sweet with a touch of cinnamon. Perfection! My daughter ordered the Bernadine's Shrimp and Avocado. When we asked her how it was, her response was "soooooo good!" We each got a hash brown side and, again, perfection. I am not one that typically orders hash browns but man, am I glad I did! They were fried with crispy edges and so well seasoned! Delicious! After reading reviews about the cookies, I had to order one. They were fresh from the oven. They had Reese's cups on top. I mean.... No breakfast burrito place like it. The owner was there to walk us through the menu and the most popular. Everything was beyond my imagination Karen Maple delight burrito was out of this world tasty. My 12 year old had the biggest smile after the first bite. I had the Gailene's meat lovin burrito and it hit just as hard as the maple burrito. This is a must stop for any breakfast needs. We stopped for gas and didn't want gas station breakfast so a quick search lead us to Mitchell's. I'm glad we took the time to visit because we got some awesome food and tried one of the best peanut butter cookies I've ever had! We got the Joyce veggie burrito and Kay's 3 Alarm burrito. Out of the two burritos we both really enjoyed the Joyce vegetarian burrito. The Kay's was a bit "soft" for my liking. It had scrambled eggs, jalapeños, green chile, banana peppers, fresh tomatoes, and spicy hot Italian sausage. The Joyce had scrambled eggs, onions and peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, jalapeños and we added sausage. I'm not sure if it the veggies weren't cooked as long but I enjoyed that way more as it gave it texture and crunch to offset the "softness" of the scrambled eggs and sausage. We met Rob who was slinging these delicious burritos behind the counter. He told us each item on the menu is named after one of his family members. We also tried their homemade cooked fresh cookies! The smaller chocolate chip was perfectly soft with semi sweet chocolate chips to pair with the sweet dough. Simply scrumptious. And I'm not exaggerating when I say we tried the best peanut butter cookies I've ever had. It's larger than the chocolate chip and is packed with peanut putter flavor in every bite! The edges were crispy and went perfectly with the soft center! Rob nicknamed them "the devil" because they are sinfully sweet. They are downright divine! Overall highly recommend. Go support local and don't forget to grab a couple "devils" on your way out! read more

I love breakfast burritos, so much that I have a google map where to get them in Los Angeles, and whether they're worth trying. We have some incredible breakfast burritos here, so naturally when I saw there was a place halfway across the country that serves them primarily, I had to check it out. And am I glad I did. It was INCREDIBLE. I had the Karen's Maple Delight which, if you're into McGriddles, is like one of those but WAY better. A perfect blend of sweet and savory, and while it might sound crazy, the touch of cinnamon added something really unique and interesting that only added to the taste. I also tried the Bernadine's Shrimp & Avocado; also delicious, as were the hand pies (tried the strawberry and apple). The service was A+, super friendly people who are happy to be making fantastic food. Even the branding is on point here. I can't wait to go back. read more

The locals love it and now we know why. This is a must stop if you are passing through and get anywhere near it. My husband and I were traveling and needed breakfast, Mitchell's came up in a search. We live by reviews and they had 4.9 stars on Google so we stopped in. We could not have made a better decision. Robert and his wife are very sweet and committed to service. They were delicious! I got the Kay's 3 alarm and BELIEVE ME- it is spicy. Loaded with peppers! Only get if you crave spice or if you normally eat spicy stuff with no issues. The homemade cornbread was excellent with butter. It was nice to have a dedicated/assigned waitress to provide me with silverware, iced tea, etc. She was both sweet and efficient. Unfortunately, their worn-out and cracked plastic plates need to be retired from service. I liked the casual atmosphere, with oldies Soul music playing in the background. I'll probably return, but will make sure that my plate isn't defective.

The casino floor was grand--definitely gave Vegas vibes--with a lot of options. Even on a busy weekend night, it never felt claustrophobic like other places I've been. Now, the main reason I visited Southland was for the buffet--and man, it was amazing. I sat there for over an hour enjoying fresh, hot, delicious food. The buffet was very well put together: clean, well-staffed, and full of great hospitality. Southland Casino Resort literally has everything you need for a great experience. Plus, being only about 10 minutes from downtown Memphis gave my partner and me even more places to explore. We can't wait to visit again soon.

One thing to remember is that if you place an order at the drive through at around 5:00 pm, expect it to take 15 or 20 minutes to receive your food. I should have called in my order, but it was a last second decision to swing by there. Fortunately, they've repaired their speaker box in the drive through lane. As always, the owner was very affable, and seemed grateful for the business from customers. I shall return.
