We searched for the best burger in Columbus, Wisconsin, for lunch and ended up in at MP's Town Tap…read more We were venturing to Columbus because my favorite place, Olive and Herb, moved to Columbus from Sun Prairie, and I needed to stock up on my vintage aged balsamic vinegar. We were greeted with a bunch of happiness. The people running the bar at the time we arrived, were so welcoming and hilarious. I love the cook's sense of humor, as well as anyone else that showed up after we arrived into this establishment. It definitely had a hometown feel vibe. My husband ordered the Ultimate Bloody Mary. It was ultimate, with a grilled cheese sandwich, pickles, onion rings, pearled onions, shrimp, olives, banana pepper, olives, sausage and cheese. That was huge, and a meal within itself. I just ordered a regular Bloody Mary. I knew we were there to have a hamburger. I have to say, that it was a food in a glass, so I did partake in half of the grilled cheese. We ordered our single burgers after a while, but forgot to mention how we wanted them cooked. We like them medium rare, but they turned out just below that and good. My husband estimated them at a half pound burger. It looks like an unassuming burger, and nothing fancy, but a decent, bar burger. We would have ordered extras, such as fries, etc., but that Bloody Mary extras filled us up. We will go back and visit this establishment, if we wander into Columbus, Wisconsin again. It's a nice friendly place to have a decent priced meal. I would give the staff a five star review.

The tacos were flavorful but on the smaller side, so plan to order a few if you're hungry. Overall, it was a decent meal that you can make as fast or as leisurely as you want, depending on your vibe. Lots of hot sauces to choose from as well.

one of the BEST Mexican restaurants I've had in a long time, and baby... it was FIRE…read more Now let me start with the one thing that bothered me. When I first walked in, I wasn't greeted. I was looking around for a menu to place a takeout order and there was a family ahead of me taking up most of the entrance area. Kids were running around, people were sitting everywhere, and it was honestly hard to tell who had already ordered and who hadn't. While I stood there waiting, employees kept coming back to offer that family more things while I was completely overlooked. Eventually I got frustrated and left. Instead, I placed my order through DoorDash and went across the street to McDonald's to grab something for my babies while I waited. By the time I got back, my food was coming out fresh. Now for the good part... I ordered 2 steak tacos and 1 chorizo taco with onion and cilantro. It took me about 15 minutes to get back to where I was staying, and the food was still warm and held up perfectly. The first thing I noticed was how flavorful the meat was on its own. Nice char, great seasoning, and you could tell it was cooked with care. The corn tortillas were clearly fresh and tasted homemade. They pulled everything together perfectly. And this is my ultimate taco test... I saved one for later that night. Hours later, the tortilla still hadn't fallen apart. It wasn't soggy. It wasn't disintegrating. The taco was still intact. Now let's talk about the salsa. They gave me both salsa verde and salsa roja and LAWWWD. The flavor, the spice, the balance... they somehow made the tacos even better, and I didn't think that was possible. I'm so used to the watered-down, Americanized stuff people swear is authentic when it barely has any flavor. This was the real deal. If you're from the Chicago area or honestly anywhere and you're looking for authentic Mexican food with actual flavor, this place is worth it. And if you're visiting the Wisconsin Dells and want something good that's not ridiculously overpriced, put this spot on your list. I'll definitely be back before this trip is over and again the next time I'm in town.

It was a great little hangout spot to rest & recharge. Food and beverages were available but we just had to order at the bar (no table service when we dined here which was perfectly fine). The IPA tasted more like a pale ale but hit the spot. The food was flavorful and hit the spot! Satisfying portions and yummy vegetarian options. We each ordered two tacos and shared a half pan of loaded nachos (we did the sweet potato vegetarian nacho option). There's limited indoor seating at the front and a larger seating space out back including an outdoor patio space that has tables with umbrellas. We sat out back indoors. The flies were bad but it's that time of year. There's a board game shelf, water station and lots of posters advertising fun weekly activities. I loved how kid/baby friendly the place was. They had high chairs and a changing table in one of the restrooms plus they offer kids eat free deals on Thursdays. We lucked out and came here when it was relatively slow. When we left, the bar was jam packed and while service moved it understandably slowed down. Our only regret was not purchasing a Sunshine Brew Co hat before leaving. Guess that means we will have to make a return visit one day!
