I don't say this first part for sympathy but to give you an idea of my mental state on arrival. A couple hours before heading here, I found out that an old friend died from COVID through a phone call from his brother. We, my wife and I, were processing this at home when my son, who's on the spectrum and didn't understand what was going on at all, came home from school. He started asking for food a while into the evening and around 6:30 my wife sent me out to Taco Bell. I ordered for all of us getting 2 tacos, 2 taco supremes, 2 quesadillas, and a combo 5 which also comes with a taco. I questioned the order when the girl at the drive through handed it to me because we were short 3 tacos. She looked and insisted i didn't order the 2 supremes and read the order she did have back to me which was accurate minus the 2 supremes, but I still only had 2 tacos, so I asked for what I did order then. She got very animated and started to ring me out for more food and I stopped her and said I don't want to pay for more food, I just want what I ordered. She insisted I had to pay more even though I was still short a taco from my original order. I got frustrated and said "eff this" and started to drive away. I'm a huge fan of Taco Bell and an avid customer for sure. I was traveling through hartford and hankering for a quick bite from my favorite fast food eatery. When I approached the drive thru window I was unpleasantly surprised. I received quite a nasty attitude from the young lady and wasn't even welcomed with a "hello" initially but didn't think much of it. When I went to pick up my order I was again greeted with immense attitude for no reason at all. Never feels good to go somewhere and receive attitude while trying to be respectful kind. The sauce was forgotten so I went inside to grab some, amazingly enough, another young lady greeted me and was extremely polite and helpful and gave me many sauce packets. I love Taco Bell's food but in this particular establishment I find it better than others in the area. The store inside is nicely kept and comfortable temperature wise during the yearly changing of seasons. Clean most of the time, bathrooms stocked OK, but could be better. The customer service is usually good but suffer from the inability to keep up their stocks. Their signature drink Baja Blast Mountain Dew always seem to be out of stock while the Icee machine out of order. One night they ran out of tortillas to make soft taco and quesadillas. That usually points to management more than the employees fault in keeping the appropriate items always on hand. Though I'll admit there was another time where they ran low on the meat but decided it was alright to give me the orders I put in with a miniscule amount and pass it off as OK. It wasn't.
