I have frequented this place a number of times. The ambiance feels like a relaxed authentic Mexican restaurant. They have a large menu with reasonable prices. I have tried burritos, tacos, and taco salads which have all been delicious and filling. The ingredients are fresh and the food is made to order. They also sell their own packaged bottles of habanero hot sauce that is very spicy and I add to all of my food. The meals come with chips and salsa. The parking lot can be hectic when its busy and it can be tough to find a parking spot but it is worth it. read more

Got some takeout last night from Three amigos and cannot complain. My friend and I tried a little bit of everything and the prices were so reasonable. We had the birria tacos, beef tacos, Al pastor tacos, the queso and chips and churros. All of the meals came with a little portion of salsa too which was perfect I will say the queso did not seem like it came from the restaurant, but instead like a velvety. Still enjoyable. The tacos were pretty cold when they arrived, but I don't fault the restaurant and the beef tacos were supposed to be crunchy, but again everything tasted perfect. The highlight of this order was for sure the churros. They were so delicious. Not warm at all but so so good. My friend who doesn't like churros and thinks they're dry, absolutely loved these because of the filling and the chewiness. Divine. I would come back just for those. So freaking gooooood ! Got a carnitas burrito with all the works... they had my order done within five minutes, the portions are amazing had to eat it three different times in order to finish it. I tried Three Amigos Restaurant for lunch to go today. I was quoted $8.20 for the fish taco meal. I was charged $8.70, however. The way the customer service specialist packed my meal was deplorable, even though the meal was packed in a styrofoam box. I feel the two tacos needed to be wrapped in individual sheets of tin foil. When I opened the box to have my meal, everything was strewn about. I had to fix the tacos in order to eat them- VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The experience almost took away my appetite. I will never go back to this place again. I'm standing in line as people come up behind me and some guy comes out the back and doesn't say who's next or any inquiry of the sort he just spots a customer waiting behind me and immediately starts taking their order. In the middle he noticed me standing there like " are you all set?" no jerk you decided to take some else's order. I went to order two burritos. One with hamburger, refried beans and cheese and the other with refried beans and cheese. The lady on the line asked me about 5 or 6 times what the order was. She seemed new and confused. I never raised my voice or was rude. I tried to explain more clear and one of the owners must have thought I was bring pushy and said, "We just need to know whar you want in your burrito!" I explained, "I told her 6 times." The owner says, "We'll she doesn't speak much english!" He was very rude to me! He didn't handle it well. I'm thinking and it's my problem that,she dosent speak english. Why would he put her on the line poor girl? He should have taken over for her when he saw she was struggling instead of putting her in such a bad situation. I went there to grab food to go and one of the workers left my burrito on the counter and another worker was leaning over my burrito and her coat touched it several times. I asked for another burrito and everyone rolled their eyes at me then proceeded to give me a pinch of every topping I requested. She also proceeded to rush me continuing to say are you done. I wanted to leave it right there but since I had already ordered it I spared them from wasting of food. However I will never go there again. The guy at the serving station was nice. The place was a 'walk up to the counter and tell em what you want', Subway style. Had some tables along one wall. So you could order something and take it to a table and contemplate how this place manages to get so many five star review's. The place has taqueria in its name, which means 'place that serves taco's,' so ordered some basic tex mex style crunchy tacos. The ground beef was seasoned ok, lettuce and tomato, check, just like mom used to make. Sorta. Mom would never serve a stale taco shell, and this place gave me three. Maybe it was later in the night, so the refried beans had been sitting around, but whatever the reason was... these things were SALTY. All cap's there, weirdly too salty. Bottom of the tub maybe? Don't serve those, terrible idea. Just tell the customer you're out of them. Basic yellow rice? Too basic, zero on the flavor scale. Could have used some of the salt out of those refried beans. Customers were coming in, theres five star reviews, don't know what went wrong here, but they made Taco Bell look like a better option. OUCH! read more

Very good Mexican/Tex-Mex food here, all prepared fresh and served by friendly staff. I've been driving by here for years and only recently decided to give it a try and order take-out for lunch. As others have said it's a lot like a Chipotle/Moe's/HotHeads with a lot less of a "chain" feel. They have a wide variety of ingredients and meats that are all seemingly prepared fresh and meals are cooked to order which puts it a notch or two above the aforementioned chain restaurants and a lot more like a taqueria. Staff is super-friendly and will adjust your order to your liking. I only came in for the birria tacos and some others but the party in front of me had 5 or more different orders and each was customized as requested. House chips and salsa with every order and prices very reasonable for the quality you're getting. The only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is no al Pastor, I've seen it on the menu but maybe it's only a special now, hopefully not gone for good because if it's of the same quality of the food I had I'd really like to try it. 3 Amigos layout and menu offerings are very similar to Moe's. Given the choice between the two establishments, 3 Amigos wins hands down. I have eaten here a handful of times and have now also hooked my parents. They have menu items that are good for a vegetarian, a Keto & low Fodmap diet and an eight year old child. Delicious! We stopped by here after a visit to the Wadsworth Museum in Hartford. The portions were plentiful and the prices reasonable. The staff were friendly and the food was authentic. Food was good, tasty, cooking area was very clean, guys were quick in their cooking & knew what they were doing. Portion was large. Date & I ordered 1 Steak & Cchorizo fajita (3 small tortillas served warm) each. Came with fillings on the side: sour cream, pico de gallo, lettuce mix, fine shredded cheddar & delicious guacamole. A regular portion of yellow rice, beans (black or refried), and the largest portion was of the steak and chorizo which was sauteed in onion and green peppers (green peppers were nice and crunchy). Torilla chips w salsa which my date really liked. Leftovers were good for two more descent sized meals. We paid $30 bucks and got 4 meals out of it. Yea, bang for your buck. I was amazed that the food was made fresh in front of us at a "fast food" place. We also tried the steak fajitas - made fresh in front of us in the skillet. Prices are very very fair for the amount of food you get! I got 3 enchiladas with rice and beans on the side and chips+salsa included all for $10! Another day we also tried the burritos. I know that good Mexican food in CT is probably not easy to find. This place was not very good. They use cheap store bought tortillas and season their meat with this cheap taco seasoning, almost like something you would buy it you were going to make tacos at home. I've been here two or three times, but my boyfriend is a frequent flier. It makes sense because the food is delicious! His go-to is the fish tacos. This most recent time I got the tomatillo (green salsa) chicken enchiladas. Portion size was more than enough. We rarely eat in, but this time we went for it and were pleasantly surprised. Economical, an easy in and out for a quick lunch when I am in the area. I ordered two grilled vegetable tacos, one hard one soft; they were okay nothing special, surprised there was no rice included. Grilled vegetables means just that I guess, grilled vegetables! So good we have gone here twice in the past week! I was driving thru Manchester the other day and remembered this place I used to go to, Three Amigos. It's been years since I had gone because of a not-so-good experience, but I am a firm believer in second chances. And boy am I glad I reconsidered. I got the grilled veggies burrito, my youngest got the steak burrito and my oldest got the cauliflower tacos. Each meal was made fresh in front of us. Items were right there for you to choose and see exactly what they looked like. No cross contamination of dropped food in the other bins - which is good for me as a vegan. The meals were piled high and so delicious, like ridiculously good! We went back again last night because why not?! Oh, and don't forget to grab a Mexican Coke, or a Jarritos soda - YUM!! read more

Excellent Mexican food. I've been eying this place for a while and finally made it tonight- I wish I'd discovered it sooner! The setup is similar to Chipotle or Subway, in that your food is made to order. They keep the prep area immaculately clean. I ordered the veggie burrito and they cut up and sautéed red and green peppers right in front of me- no precut, microwave-reheated nonsense! Everything tasted so fresh, and the burrito was huge. My friend ordered enchiladas, which were also cooked to order and put together right before our eyes, and they actually hand grated cheese right over the top. They had a wide selection of other ingredients to add- I got rice, black beans, tomatoes, pico de gallo, onions, fresh cilantro, corn, cheese, and guacamole. That was probably half of what they had to offer. Every order comes with chips and salsa. The staff were pleasant, friendly and engaging. We stayed for almost two hours and were never pressured to leave, despite the fact that we were the only ones in there for the majority of the time. I'm blaming that on the cold, or maybe others are also guilty of taking a long time to discover this deliciousness. While we were ordering a girl came in and said even though she lives in Hartford, this is her favorite Mexican place and that the extra distance is worth it for the food. I'd agree. Three Amigo's is going through some really exciting changes, and just happened to go there last night for dinner with the family. Our daughter really loved her child's cheese quesidilla. My wife had the beef taco salad, that really tasted yummy with fresh add on's. I had the Chili Verde Burrito, which he packed up with about a 1lb of fresh Mexican pineapple,corn, salsa, rice, re-fried beans and more..I couldn't have been more happier!!! Then you also have 3 choices of medium , light or hot homemade Salsa Bar too! Plenty of napkins there to clean up after this somewhat messy but very good Burrito!!! The person who was working there , seems to be the new guy in charge. I love him, because of his fast & friendly service & dedication to this business! Even on a Friday night, with streams of folks walking in, he was able to handle everybody's order efficiently and quickly!! The bottom line, it's fast but freshly cut veggies & meat and you will feel delightfully full after walking out of Three Amigos with a big smile on your face! We'll be back next week!!! read more
