When I was younger, so much younger than today, I traveled internationally for a Fortune 500 company for over 12 years. In those travels I spent over a year in Mexico, because it was a problem place, to do business in any way - to protect inventory (we hired armed guards to patrol behind fenced areas, 24/7), to collect accounts receivable, especially from the Federal and State governments, to operate within the guidelines of the SEC! The good part was to sample food I had no idea existed. I had birria for the first time in 1979 in Guadalajara - stew only, no tacos at the time; carbito; and I had Pozole Verde for the first time, with pork, amazing dish! The version of pozole verde served here is very good, but does not have quite the layers of flavor this dish is famous for, like the ones I've sampled at Taqueria Los Juanes, El Camino Real, and Paisano El Tacos - all in Winston. Still it is a dish worth having a go at! I topped the relatively thin stew with cheese, chopped white onion, chicharrones, and avocado. In addition, I squeezed on lime juice and added hot sauce. All of this added additional flavors as well as a variety of textures. I wish there had been cabbage and cilantro to add as well. I tried the Quesabirria tacos and found them to be very nice - well filled and flavorful. I'm glad I tried the food here, and if in the area I'd stop in, but I would not consider this a destination spot.

This past weekend after watching a long 2 day wrestling tournament at North Davidson High School,…read moremy parents and I decided to go check out this near by taco place that we kept hearing about all weekend long. As soon as we entered the restaurant you felt the good vibes with the Spanish music being played in the background. We were greeted with a smile and taken right to a table. The restaurant had a couple of tables, but it seems like a lot of people do take out as well. As I looked at the menu there were a lot of different options apart from the tacos. There were tortas, chimichangas, etc. When it came time to order the food I decided to go with the tacos. I ordered 1 taco de asada, 1 taco al pastor, and 1 taco de pollo asado. I also got a agua de jamaica (Hibiscus tea) it was also very good and refreshing. While my family and I waited for our food our server brought us chips and salsa which did not disappoint. Once my food came out I was super excited to try it out. The presentation was amazing. The tortillas were homemade, the taco was loaded with onions and cilantro, they give you a good amount of limes, some radishes on the side, and bring out 2 different salsas for you to add to your taco if you would like too. Each taco was delicious and very flavorful. I would say that my favorite one had to be the taco al pastor. The seasoning was just right and it even had pineapple in there. If you are in the area I would definitely give this a try, the food and service are both so amazing. You wont be disappointed!

Very very clean, open concept kitchen; once again, extremely clean bathroom as well, soda machine is clean, floors spotless, big brownie points! Moreover the food: pleaseeee try the shrimp cocktail(extremely fresh tasting and not spicy yet flavorful, LOTS OF SHRIMP INSIDE!), birria tamales( speaks for itself ‍‍‍very flavorful the maíz also had flavor and the consomé is not fatty but well seasoned, simply delicious). The birria ramen, huge chunks of barbacoa inside and served with a quesadilla, come on! Also had the empanadas de campechanas(steak with chorizo and cheese) and also an order of pulled chicken and cheese empanadas (it taste like you at you're at home eating Ma's food!!!!), pastor taco was excellent, made with actual pineapple and seasoned well but not too salty or sweet; perfect! The street corn was nice and HOT in temperature and well seasoned but not spicy and could taste the squeezed lime with the tajin cheese and mayo; yum!!!! Carnitas taco was excellent, very tender!!! Oh, hand made corn tortillas.... Come on!!! This is the place to be, I'm telling y'all‍. We got caramel churros to go, they come with some ice cream and whipped with chocolate sauce, so banger!!! Also recommend the fresh made cheese dip with the made to order chunky guacamolè aka 'Guac Mexicano' and some grilled seasoned whole jalapeños on the side(aka Torriados) Finally, would also like to highlight that all the food had very clean presentations and you can tell everything is prepped with very very well- also can tell this in the horchata and Jamaica! I have never in my life tried a perfect Jamaica like theirs- it was not bitter or sour or too sweet or too weak; absolutely perfect, please try for yourself! Andre's has a wonderful staff and he and his family are working with delicious recipes, these people are true restauranteurs and know what they're doing!!! I am definitely returning and plan to become a regular! So thankful to find somewhere close to my new home out this way! God bless you/ que Diosito los bendiga!

A communication error left the restaurant unprepared for the volume of guest that decended upon them all at once. With that in consideration, the staff was very accommodating, organized and efficient. Unfortunately the food was not as good. The chips and salsa taste fresh from the shelf. Open and serve. The rice was nearly flavorless and I suspect that the refried beans come in bags of powdered bean flakes. The ACP chicken had the over dried texture meat that's been precooked or held too long on the hot line. Even worse...the frozen food fish patties with barely dressed tri- colored bag slaw. Acceptable for a busy mom fish taco family dinner. But I expect so much more from every restaurant. The Chipotle Shrimp was the better of the entrees that I tried. The cream sauce was too thick, almost like a country gravy. However the shrimp were nicely cooked and the grilled onions were the best thing on the plate. Overall the experience was at best mediocre and at worst sad.

I get the prices of things are increasing but, a small side of sour cream should not cost a customer $3. I work for a food distribution company, so I am well aware of the cost restaurants are paying. But more to the point not only are prices increased but the quality and portion sizes are decreasing. I always order the same dish. Normally it is really good and plenty of chipotle sauce. This time they looked like they came from Taco Bell and barely any sauce. My husband ordered a pina colada and let's just say it was a premixed slushy and I would be surprised if there was alcohol in it at all, reminded me of a 711 slurpee. And the large margaritas have shrank. Don't your customers deserve better?
