My server was super friendly and very nice for a very young woman. I was served chips and salsa while waiting for my strawberry margarita. The chips were warm and fresh but not seasoned. The salsa looked horrible because it was a purée but to my surprise it was the most flavorful part of my lunch with a nice garlic flavor. The strawberry margarita was above average because it had booze in it and a deep strawberry flavor that screamed strawberry, thank you. With only my order in the kitchen my food came very quick, the place was empty. I ordered the combination plate with a first for me, chicken in Mexican food for some reason. I had a ground beef taco, chicken enchilada and al pastor tostada with rice/beans. Although the food was good it was Americanized, bland and not seasoned. All the meats were moist I must say. I got the impression that they were cooking for the elderly population in Muskego. Overall if authentic Mexican food is not what your looking for and tame Americanized is your preference than this is the place for you.

For dinner, she got the pork belly tacos, and I ordered the special birria tacos. After a short wait, they both came out. They were good portions, with a nice side of rice and beans. The pork belly wasn't in chunks, but instead was shredded. The birria tacos had good flavor, and the consommé was rich and flavorful. Service: When we arrived, there were only two other tables, with a couple of people at each. We stood around waiting for someone to notice us and seat us. No water, just menus. After a while, the server was replaced by the owner, who did a good job taking our orders. Friendly and helpful. Atmosphere: The place hasn't changed much since our last visit. It has a bright color scheme. Since there were only a few tables, it was reasonably quiet. There are a couple of TVs on each wall, which I am not a fan of. Overall: Not an inspiring meal. I'm sure I may be back at some point, it's a decent sized restaurant with a ton of parking space right in the middle of Muskego. But with so many other options for Mexican food within a 10 mile radius, Tres Locos just doesn't make the top of my list of options. The guy working the cart was super nice and I asked him what happened to the restaurant that I used to go to because one day they were just closed for good, he explained he neede to concentrate on a family medical issue but he's back at it and has a catering business on 13th and Lincoln, I will post the menu. I would get the three for $5 with one ground beef, spicy shredded pork and jalapeño/cream cheese to reacquaint my self with the tamales. I received one hot salsa and two mild sauces, no skimping here. After driving home with one store stop the tamales were still hot unlike my earlier breakfast restaurant sit down experience. The jalapeño/cream cheese was tamale was very interesting and I'm glad I tried it. The spicy shredded pork was good with a decent amount of pork. The ground beef was my favorite and that had a decent amount of meat in it also. I did put all the salsa and sauces on them which made for a nice plate that filled me up. That was the case here, and after asking the prices I went with the birria tacos over the quesadilla. Tacos were $4 and included the protein, onions and cilantro in two corn tortillas. The wait was longer than I was expecting at about 15 minutes but they do give you a buzzer to know when it's ready. I added some of the orange salsa to my tacos which was good! After eating just one I was feeling a little full, they didn't skimp on the fillings. Overall I thought it was pretty good but not necessarily a taco I'd dream about. I'd get it again if I was near their truck but would try other options too.
