As I grew up in this area I have seen it go from the old classic little building with cement dining tables out front to this modern monstrosity that it is now, the parking lot and drive thru was an interesting choice to say the least, it doesn't really make sense to me, I don't think this eliminated the issues from before (issues meaning long line that blocked the right lane on snelling ave) I pulled up to order and was addressed over the intercom by a AI robot EW FREAKY! It took my order and when I pulled up to the window there were several people working so that seemed odd. So I'll start this off by saying Taco Bell is my favorite fast food and I typically order it once a week when I need a quick cheap lunch. Now pretty much all Taco Bell's tastes the same with few exceptions. S this review is not about the food it's a comparison. Over the past two months I have visited 4 Taco Bell stores in the Twin Cities. And I went 3 tomes a week to each store and I refrained from ordering on the app to see the overall all service I received from each place while ordering in the drive-thru. This particular location has the worst service imo. Each time I ordered here (different times of the day) it took forever to get my food. Not only that but 50% of the time the food was wrong. From the wrong sauce packets to the wrong food item. Btw, twice the whole order was wrong. The employees are super nice, but something is not quite right. So imo if you go to this location you might not get what you want. Now you can have them correct it I'm sure (I did not) but that takes time. Now you need to get out of your vehicle go in the store and correct the order. Now tbf it is the busiest Taco Bell too. Wait times during lunch are astronomical. I used to work near here so I have made many trips to the previous iteration of this Taco Bell. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but bad experiences since they remodeled and switched to takeout-only. They have a small lobby where there is a shelf for picking up online orders, but they never put the orders on that shelf. They keep them behind the counter, and they don't staff the counter. This last time I was in that situation (along with someone who said he'd been waiting six minutes when I walked in); we could see our bags but no one would give them to us until two employees returned from a smoke break. When I was next in line I just said "order for Bob" and she handed it to me. But as I was exiting, she belted a mocking "ORDER FOR BOB" at me. As other reviews have noted, in addition to eliminating a dining room they made awful and straight-up dangerous changes to the parking lot and drive-thru area. That's why I'd ordered this for pickup. First of all... they made my order wrong the first time. The lady claimed she sees me all the time But i came there for the first time as a customer today. Im new to the area and it was a horrible introduction. I ordered 2 doritos locos tacos meals and 2 steak quesaritos because i heard they were being discontinued. I paid for my food and grabbed my receipt. I was handed a lighter bag than usual but since i was in the middle of a instacart order i just left assuming my food was correct The GM told me she was at the drive through all day but she wasnt the one i was dealing with when i ordered. I stopped by to order for my son. I decided to get myself a nachos bell grande. When I got the food I drove off. Down the street my wife noticed the bell grande was not inside. I turned around and went back. The drive through was very busy so I went in. I spoke with the employee who gave me the order and showed her the bell grande was missing. She consulted with her coworkers. I kept hearing the other workers talking amongst themselves in Spanish. It sounded as if they were saying the order was complete and everything was there. A lady came up and said it was in there. I told her no it was not. The lady who gave me the order said she seen me show her what I got. She mentioned the customer is right and to be careful as they will get a customer complaint. Then they yelled for a guy named Walter it sounded like. He spoke more Spanish and he told me twice everything was inside and both times I told him no it was not the lady who handed me the order reiterated that I showed her everything and for them to be careful because they will get a complaint. At this point not only did I not get what I paid for I also was accused multiple times of lying. I grabbed my order and told them not to worry about it. I will take it up with corporate. Absolutely the most horrible fast food experience ever. DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION. My food was cold, soggy, un edible, & just plain disgusting. I was so excited I ended up ordering a good amount of food. Just to not be able to eat any of it. My hard shell taco was so soggy it was falling apart. No crunch, or substance. The parking lot is terrible, super slow drive through. Once you are in the drive through line and if the service is slow (usually is!) you are trapped and have no choice but to go through the rest of the slow line. I sat for eight minutes once I got to the sign to order for the women to be able to take my order Once I placed my order there was one car in front of me waiting to pick up their order and we waited for another 15 minutes. once I got to the window to pay it took another 5 minutes to get the food This is the second time I have been here since it reopened, both times super slow. read more

Gave the man my order, he repeated it back to me then he spoke to someone inside the restaurant then he repeated my order to me again & I said yes. 3 Chalupa Boxes no tomato. 1 chicken taco salad sauce on the side & 1 tostada. $23 something. We get home & the taco salad has beef no chicken. I call the restaurant several times, no one answers. I waited in a busy drive-thru line, finally got to the speaker and they said they would take my order at the window. Waited 15 minutes to get to the window (I would have left, but I was trapped in line-poor design). Waited at the window for 10 minutes and no one took my order. One employee came and got her drink and a large sack of food and then left without making eye contact with me. I decide to just leave which proved difficult due to the last car in the drive-thru line blocking the exit. I don't care that its a chain or fast food.... if the service is good.... I call it out. Yeah, the food is not top of the line, but I don't expect it to be. For the few times that I do stop, the service is always nothing but great. Especially in the drive thru. The people taking orders are as polite and friendly as can be. Getting in is a pain if you are heading north on Snelling, but it is what it is... Sometimes a "run for the border" is just necessary and they are open late. My local Taco Bell has improved over the course of time and I am extremely grateful. I only visit this location because it is convenient, though I'm not a big Taco Bell fan. There is rarely a wait in the lobby, and when there is it never exceeds 10 minutes. Typically kept clean, with mediocre customer service and great teamwork. I don't know if they are under new management, but there has been a drastic change and I am proud of it. Indoor seating only, and a relatively small parking lot. On bus line, across from holiday and a short walk to university, the lobby is open until 10. There are public restrooms available. read more

This is probably the closest Taco Bell for East Bank U of M students. There is one on Minnehaha Ave, that might be closer, but it's in a rather sketchy neighborhood. This Taco Bell on Snelling, isn't that much better, but I feel much safer there than down near Minnehaha Ave. If you want to go to a Taco Bell in a nicer area, go to the one in the quarry! It's a extra few minute drive, but worth it! Taco Bell! One of the very few decent fast food options in the Twin Cities. You can't go wrong with Taco Bell. I always go for the value menu! I just get crispy tacos, which are decent and the rice and bean burrito for a dollar. I've been to this location 3 times, I haven't really had many problems with them. One thing to note is that after 11PM or so, they stop having dine-in options. Their drive thru option is weird. there isn't really any noted lanes. The service here is rather slow as well. They need to have 2 lanes for orders just like they do in many new McDonalds, this would speed things up for us consumers. Yuck. Always busy, so skipping the backed-up-into-traffic-lanes drive-thru to get service doesn't work. Be prepared to stand around waiting for your order about as long as you'd have wasted gas as if you were waiting in the drive-thru. Somehow, some way, they always mess up the order (?!). I get all the way home and back, found out they messed up the order, took the incorrect order back, handed it to the guy. The guy shoots the cashier a pained look, mutters under his breath about "fifth time tonight" and fixes my order (promptly--which was greatly appreciated). I got a feeling it happens all of the time. I leave, and--this is a true story--the doors are locked (it's 8 p.m. on a Tuesday)! The manager vaults (seriously!) over the counter and rushes to unlock it, mumbling they did that to keep "a prowler out." Great... Frankly, he probably would have been in good company with some of the shadier characters hanging out in the lobby chatting with the workers (and not eating). Maybe that's why everyone goes through the drive-thru? Anyway, avoid counter service if you can, they definitely prefer drive-thru and process those orders a bit better. Inside service is sketchy and a bit weird at night. This is the only fast-food service in the Midway that hasn't upgraded (sweet Denny's, Wendy's, and Arby's just a few blocks away, safe and cheap). I love this Taco Bell- as far as fast and cheap food goes this place is it. Always open reliably late so I can get my late-night craving fix. Yes it does get a little busy in the drive-thru line but they always work efficiently and get my order correct every time. I wouldn't normally review a fast food place, but this location seems to always stand out whenever I order from them. The food seems better cooked and fresher, and the employees seem more professional and courteous than at other locations. I had never noticed any of this until one day I ordered food from another location (the Minneapolis one). Dear Owner, Tonight I went through the drive thru placed my order, to find out I was missing a taco when I got home. This is literally the 3rd time this exact same situation of a missing taco has happened to me. I decided that's enough I'm sick of paying for food I have not received, I'm going to call the store and see how they handle these situations for the customer. Upon calling, a gentleman answered, he asked me if I had my receipt, if it happened in the drive thru and if I could come back. No I'm already home, he said please hold I'll get my manager. I waited for 30 seconds before being hung up on and then called back twice immediately no answer. I sure hope that's not how your manager decides to handle customer service. Im disappointed, and starting to wonder if its strategy to cheat customers out of food they paid for. If not, then their are some serious issues during packing of orders. I wish I could leave zero stars, but for now I'll leave one. Tomorrow I'll call back and see how the manager handles the situation, and I'll update my review based on how it's handled. I ordered form this restaurant through door dash, and I blame both Taco Bell and the door dash driver. I ordered 3 Doritos Locos Tacos with meat substituted for black beans, as I am vegetarian. Fucked up on all 3, and I had to throw them away. Every time I've been here the people are very rude and slow. I asked for extra hot and fire sauce and the guy asks me "how much do you want"? I asked for a handful and he gave 4 packets. Another time I came here my friend and I wanted to make separate orders. The guy said that he could not do it. I was baffled by this and asked "what are we supposed to do then drive around again?"
