I don't think I've ever had a bad meal at Niko's. I really love the Como location. It's spacious and airy inside, with a welcome patio on the front, but a gorgeous patio in the back surrounding a sunken garden. It wasn't open for outdoor dining when we were there most recently, but even inside is delightful. I love their margaritas. But the tacos are fantastic. I really appreciate all of the choices that they have for vegetarians and vegans. There are other tasty items on the menu, but it's really hard for me not to order tacos. Their salsa selection is also fantastic. Such a great place for a good meal.

We had such a fun happy hour last night at Nicos Taco Bar! I didn't get many pictures because I was busy enjoying myself and chatting with friends. They have it decorated so cute for the holidays, I wanna try to make it back! Shout out to the awesome bartender for dealing with 10+ of us and giving great service. Tacos were really good as well! I had the Pescado and also a chorizo one. Next time I need try a lot more of the menu it looked good.

Went here to celebrate my besties bday. The staff were friendly and our waitress was very attentive.the restaurant is super cute and they have a nice patio as well if you prefer dining outside. I ordered the special drink for this month it was a watermelon Paloma (don't recall the actual name of the drink) but it was really good! For food I got chicken tinga tacos and they were good as always. My only thing is I don't care for the shells they use here. Once they get wet they break super easy making it messy to eat. We were given complimentary chips which helped to scoop up the fallen ingredients. For my friend's bday they gave her churros with a candle which was super cute! Generally a good time. We were 1 of 3 tables wrapping up a few minutes past closing and the staff were still super nice. Parking is street only. On the Monday we went it wasn't hard to find spots at all but other times like weekends it can be a bit challenging as it's in a somewhat busy area.

The holiday decor is stunning, so I would highly recommend stopping by before Christmas! I prefer the decor for this location compared to the uptown location, personally. The chilaquiles were delicious! For the sauce, you can choose salsa verde, salsa rojo, or both. I chose both! The salsa verde is a little spicier than the salsa rojo, but goes so well with the crema! It falls on the softer side as far as chilaquiles go since it's very saucey. It's delicious though, and a very generous portion (it was 2 meals for me). The staff were friendly and helpful when deciding between a few options. I enjoyed my visit, and I saw they offer a happy hour 3-6, so I plan to come back soon for the happy hour specials!

I always enjoy my time at Nico's on Como and this time was no different. Always very fresh ingredients and delicious food. When the weather is nice, you can set outside on the patio. Would recommend trying multiple salsas if you can! I think they give one salsa per taco order, so you can mix and match. Both were amazing! Need to return soon and check out the Christmas pop up while it's still decorated for the holidays!

Bistek Asado Taco - 6.50 each

I wish there was an option for 3.5 stars. This place is super cute inside. It was a nice spot to hang out and eat with friends, and it was convenient that they took reservations. Parking was easy on the street/in the back lot. The service was professional and friendly. Regarding the food, I'm from Southern California, so $6.50 per single taco didn't feel great. Though I'm also not sure if that's just typical for Minnesota. I ordered 2 of the bistek asado. The tacos were alright, but the chips and salsa appetizer (salsa trio?) were my favorite at the table. The tomatillo salsa was fantastic. The cheese dip was also pretty good. Not sure if I'll be back for the tacos, but would come back for the chips and salsa.

Patio is great, good amount of seating available and umbrellas. Server was great, gave good recommendations, was attentive and very nice! Had the steak quesadilla, can't believe i would ever say this but it had too much cheese. The flavor was good, just a little less cheese would have made it great! Two friends had the burro and loved it! Good size and fillings. Also had chips and salsa trio and all salsas were delicious!

Nico's tacos is the best! Their fajitas, burritos, single tacos, and guacamole are top notch. I also tried the churros at my most recent visit and enjoyed! The vibe and liveliness of the atmosphere is very fun, too!

I've only had great margaritas at Nico's and their tacos are just a delicious! I especially love their scallop taco! The chips and salsa are addicting and I almost always get the triple dips - salsa, guacamole, and queso. They decorate for holidays in a really fun way, especially día de los muertos and the winter holiday season. Our servers have been nothing but lovely and helpful. Would recommend!

I've loved Nico's Tacos since going to their Uptown location for the first time. Their Como location keeps the same cute, airy feeling with plenty of comfortable seating & a huge deck/patio area. My friend & I had a lot of catching up to do, so it was nice that our server checked in frequently without being annoyingly attentive. They were great! We started with chips & 3 salsas, plus guacamole. I definitely had a favorite salsa (I wish I could remember which it was lol), & the guac was tasty. My only complaint is that we could've used more chips. We also each started with one of their specialty margaritas; I had a 'Strawberry Fields', which was really good. Then, we each had a house margarita, which was classic. Finally, each of us ordered 2 tacos. I got the Pescado (one of my favorites in the Cities; the toppings & sauces are SO good), & the Veggie, both were amazing. All in all, I'll definitely be back for a hangout on their patio soon!

The tacos and quesadillas are solid and definitely worth trying, but I've been disappointed with the burritos and the pork al pastor. The carne asada burrito looked substantial at first, but it was overwhelmingly filled with plain white rice, which made it feel bland and not what I'd expect in terms of flavor or balance. The pork al pastor was even more disappointing. It didn't resemble traditional al pastor in taste or texture. It was overly sweet, lacked depth, and the pork itself was extremely dry, unfortunately dry enough to make it difficult to finish. There are still some good items on the menu, and the service keeps me open to giving them another try but based on my experience, I wouldn't describe the food overall as authentic or five-star quality.

We went at night, so the space was not as cute as in the day. Florescent lighting and was very cold because of all the windows everywhere, but I really liked the art on the wall of "make tacos, not walls." I was a little worried when I looked at the menu because there weren't many written vegetarian options (was gonna just get rice and beans), but was able to get a vegetarian quesadilla, so I assume that many of their options can be made veggie, if you ask. Food came out relatively quickly and they brought lots of salsa too, which was perfect because I almost always have to ask for more salsa at most places. The quesadilla was so good. The cheese they used was divine and so melty! Good combo of veggies in it too (peppers and onions and more that I can't remember right now oops). I also got the oreo cheesecake, which was DIVINE. I always forget how much I like cheesecake and this one was tastier than most. I loved the crunchy oreos too to add a little texture. Will definitely be coming again to try different things. Want to try their juices when it's a little warmer!

The truck doesn't seem to be out and about all that often and each time I've been lucky enough to try their birria it has been when they've been parked outside of Lake Monster Brewing. If the last time I visited was any indication, it appears that they're sticking to what they do best - birria. Gone were any options that didn't involve that beefy goodness, which is fine by me, as that's the only thing I'd be ordering. I definitely don't feel right sitting inside a crowded restaurant yet, but strolling up to a food truck in a parking lot and chowing down on something tasty that's fresh off the grill, that is an activity I can very much get behind in July of 2020. I've had their tacos before and I knew I just wanted more of the same, so I ordered 3 tacos. And I asked for a fourth as well. Give me a break I was hungry and I hadn't eaten anything all day! They were delicious and I strongly suspect I'll stop by for more next time I see that they're back in St Paul. (They appear to divide their time between Pine City and St Paul.) A few caveats, though. One is that there were tomatoes on my tacos which I didn't want. The description doesn't mention them so I was unpleasantly surprised. Also I couldn't find anywhere for trash in the area. I'd expect them to supply that if there isn't anything around. And as they were parked outside The Lab's taproom, maybe they assumed we could get beverages in there, so they didn't appear to offer any. But The Lab's bar was only serving drinks to people on their patio. But despite all that, I know that I will be consciously craving these tacos again soon. I can't wait to return! Maybe a drive up to Pine City is in order...
