The restaurant has lots of seating, Spanish music playing, and a nice casual atmosphere. There were only about four groups of customers when we arrived, and with four servers working, it did take a little while for someone to get our order. Once we ordered, though, the food came out very quickly and was nice and hot. And they checked on us throughout. The flavor was decent overall. The California fries were really good--they came with sliced avocado instead of guacamole, which wasn't a bad decision. I've definitely had better carne asada tacos, though. The meat was real and had a good texture, but I felt like it could have used better seasoning. My biggest disappointment was the tortillas. They tasted like store-bought tortillas rather than fresh-made, which really made a difference with the tacos. Overall, not a bad spot. The food was hot, portions were good, and there were some definite standouts like the California fries. I just wish the tacos had better-seasoned meat and fresher tortillas.

I noted all the content of the BC that was listed on the menu and it contained items that I liked. When my food was served it looked delicious and when I took my first cut of the burrito and tasted it, it was delicious. I kept going for a few more bites, and I noted that all the content of the burrito was not there. When I saw the server I let him know that some of the content was missing. The server stated that all the content was inside and he stood there for a few seconds looking at me and I was looking at him and I said OK and I took a couple more bites and there were still missing content, so I cut the "Burrito California in half open it up and call him back to the table and showed him that all the contents were not there: the chorizo sausage and pico de gallo were missing. There was no offer to make a correction, the server just took the plate and left. Came back with a ticket of 3.50 for my drink. The ambience is very fitting for a Mexican restaurant. This was not my first visit matter fact it was one of my favorite places to go when I had a taste for Mexican food and we've had a birthday dinner there for my son-in-law before and we enjoyed our meal and the service at that time.

My husband and I visited here for Cindo de Mayo and I'm sure as many other places it was standing room only... we did wait close to 2 hours to be seated but I must say all in all it was worth it! I ordered the shrimp quesadilla minus the onions and my husband decided to get tacos... 1. shredded chicken taco 2. a ground beef taco and 3. A shrimp taco. He enjoyed every last one of them! My quesadilla was great as welI. I also ordered a large fresh margarita (La Flaca) and I was only able to finish half of my quesadilla. Nevertheless this place definitely knows how to deliver Superior customer service. The Ambiance is already lovely from the outside to the inside and the food I think it's very good, very good. If you're looking for a Mexican place to try that's located in Suffolk definitely add this one to your list. We have dined at the bar before as well as the seating in the dining area and both Services equally 10 out of 10. Parking never been an issue. There are a few parking spaces up front but there's plenty parking on the side ... Definitely worth a visit. Have fun and enjoy life. :)

I started coming to Guads for that very reason when I was on a restricted diet and the places I usually went didn't have very much in the way of low carb menu items. Second, Diego, Abner, and Jaquelin are always extremely attentive and just as nice as can be. I've watched them work with other tables and service to everyone (not just me) is top notch, friendly, and for such a small staff that makes a huge difference - it makes you feel welcome, and being the place is somewhat small (smaller than the other places in town) it makes for a much cozier "like family" atmosphere. Third, it is your typical Americanized Mexican restaurant with a lot of the same dishes and you know, you like what you like and what you get used to. I like the sauce served with tacos at La Parilla better. I like the Mexican Street Corn and Fried Plantains at Plaza Azteca (which neither other place has). I like "Los Tres" (3 types of Guacamole) at Guads. Their Mole Poblano is my favorite. Their Enchiladas Rancheras has cubed pork where I'm used to shredded - but it was extremely tasty pork cubes nonetheless. The Poblano appetizer is a Poblano people stuffed with Shrimp. The Brioche are skewers like "shish kebabs" with whichever meats you decide and is quite nice for something a little different. Their red and white sauces are "different" than the other places - I like their red sauce best, I think Plaza Azteca had the better white sauce - but they're all slightly different and I'll take any of them any day of the week. My family loves their Chile Rellenos - which are NOT battered which is kind of unusual TMK, but they are actually quite good like that and a nice variation - especially if you want to cut down on some fried stuff and carbs. So I mean, you have to go and try it, and find what you like. They do do Taco Tuesday and it gets super busy, and the Tacos are "very basic" but I mean, TBH I always feel guilty when I get my bill because it's so low and even a single taco has enough in it for a - well, the prices have gone up with what's happening in the world - so they were 1.00, then 1.50, I think they might be 2.00. But heck the other places are like "no we don't do Taco Tuesday, don't ask". But I like their meals enough that even if I'm there on a Tuesday I'll still order a meal a lot of times. My favorite is probably the Taquitos Mexicanos with is 2 Taquitos - but they're two tortillas each so longer and thicker than typical - those are set on a bed of refried beans (enough to hold them in place) and topped with sliced avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, jalepenos, pickled red onion IIRC, and crumbled cheese, with some chipotle drizzle or something IIRC - very nice presentation. The Chimichangas are like tortillas made into little pouches with the brisket inside of them - amazingly good and again, an attention to the appearance of the food rather than just a plate of rice, beans, sauce, and enchilada like so many dishes (they do those too though I you're looking for that). Just a lot of the stuff is nicely presented - got Texano dip the other day and it had two "wings" on it - a fried flower tortilla cut in half that had the edges cut with triangular points like sun rays - very nice for something you'd just expect a bowl of cheese dip. We've had nothing bad there - some things weren't as good for me, or for my family at other places (and we all like different things at the different places) but I've had nothing I'd say was downright bad. Some things are kind of "plain" or "basic" so I feel like, with the other more "typical" dishes, the "typical ones with a twist" and the "unique" dishes, there's something for everyone here.

I got the tacos governador, they're shrimp tacos with grilled onions, bell peppers, and cheese. They were amazing. The shrimp was so fresh, plump, and perfectly grilled. The onions and peppers still had a little crunch to them, so all the textures worked beautifully together. I took my food to go and rated a 5/5, but I'm sure it would have been even better if I ate it immediately there if that's even possible. It also came with this special sauce, but it didn't really need it. They were amazing as is. I did like dipping my chips in the sauce. I also loved the chips and salsa. They're the thicker cut chips and can hold a lot. The salsa was fresh and no heat to it, but you could taste the peppers. The employees were very nice and helped me because I came in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted lol but completely forgot the name. It seems like a local restaurant because the employees were very friendly with all the customers there, and seemed like they knew everyone. If I have time before I leave, I'll definitely come back! We started the night with drinks: I went for a cold Modelo, while my friends both ordered margaritas, and wouldn't stop raving about how good they were! For appetizers, we shared the Union Trio! Fire roasted tomato salsa, creamy guacamole, and queso served with crisp tortilla chips. All three were fresh and delicious, a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I mixed things up with a taco trio! Carne Asada (marinated steak, onion, queso fresco, avocado, cilantro), Chicken Tinga (marinated chicken, refried black beans, avocado, greens, queso fresco, cilantro) and Blackened Mahi (mezcal pickled onion, red cabbage, red pepper pico, chipotle sauce, cilantro). The blackened mahi was my hands down favorite. It was super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friends tried some awesome dishes too! One had the Coconut Curry Mahi (blackened mahi, jasmine rice, edamame succotash, with a rich coconut curry cream sauce) and the other had the Duck Confit Taco (with cherry salsa, pickled carrot salad, and cilantro-lime creme). Our waitress was phenomenal and definitely suggested great choices. If you're in the area and craving something a little more elevated than your average Mexican spot, Union is absolutely worth checking out. Great food, tasty drinks, and a stylish atmosphere!
