So much food! Every local we spoke to, even hotel staff said…read moreto go to Jerry's for breakfast. The service was outstanding and the restaurant was eclectic and old but very clean. I asked the waitress which was smaller the sopaipilla or the breakfast burrito? She said the sopaipilla. Holy moly. It was stuffed with thick bacon, hash browns, eggs and smothered in red and green salsa (they call it Christmas salsa). I ended up opening it and eating the inside because it was seriously enough for 2 people. Hubs had the Eye Opener. Two eggs, Christmas salsa, hash browns and bean, served with sopaipilla. He barely finished. The coffee was so good! Best place for breakfast in Gallup.

Saw a guy eating a sopapilla outside said it was good and there were several people outside waiting so we were like ok it's gonna be good. Ordered the Sopapilia covered in red sauce because it was a popular choice. Sadly, I was disappointed. I think it would have been good by itself no sauce. Just a sopapilla by itself. In sauce was too much. The red sauce did not taste homemade. If it is I'm sorry but it just wasn't my cup of tea. The kids drummettes were fried and tasty. Other than that it was just another diner. We did meet others who said they frequent but knowing true Mexican food, it's a no go for me. Service was ok. Ambiance Diner feel. We met a guy who said there was a cafe town the road that he preferred I don't remember the name but at least I know I'm not the only one who did not enjoy it. He was also from Cali so there you go. Sorry to disappoint. Good luck finding good eats. SYOY

I went…read moreduring lunch time and they were super busy, but they were doing well at managing the tables. I ordered the famous stuffed sopapilla and I it was dripping with goodness!!! Talk about cooked to perfection, with the medley of green chile and other varieties of flavors. Let's just say that it did not last long at all on my plate!!! I think that the portion sizes were great and I was very full, and felt like I got my moneys worth. Our Waitress was bursting with personality, and made sure to check on us to see if we were doing okay! My first experience was superb, and I will definitely be stopping by again pretty soon!

We both ordered Navajo tacos. The fry bread was more like ""Pizza edge", pizza crust, which is great, but it's not an Indian or Navajo fry bread. The green salsa was excellent, the red salsa was OK. The meat, which was ground beef, I did not care for it. Left an aftertaste like it was going bad or something. They use whole beans as supposed to refried beans which was good and the shredded lettuce and vegetables were also OK. Overall, if I had to go back there again, I wouldn't order the Navajo taco. I might try something else, if it's only a bowl of that green chili and tortilla.
