It's taken me a while to let you all know about this gem bc you will see me here on my lunch breaks. It's thee best taco truck I've ever had in the Portland area. The meat is actual meat and not fat, lol, what does that mean? Other food trucks cut their meat really small to mix in the fatty parts in your tacos, but take a look at these pictures, the pieces are decent size and it's delicious. Quick and fresh. Sadly I gotta update my review after three more less than desirable visits, each one worse than the last. I had originally had the pastor fajita burrito with a positive outcome but since going back and having it twice more it was quite spicy, which it wasn't on the first visit. In our most recent visit the service was very friendly, however we have some concerns... first, the nacho dip did not include salsa, just sliced tomatoes on top, and was very skimpy on the guacamole and cheese, unlike our first few experiences with it; wouldn't order again based on this experience. We also ordered a bowl but received a burrito, and although they were very pleasant and willing to fix it, that was slightly disappointing. We also tried the pastor taco and the meat was very spicy and chewy, possibly overcooked or just not the quality we'd experienced on previous visits. Last, and most concerning, we witnessed the person working accept cash from another customer and then carry on making our bowl without washing their hands or wearing gloves, even directly sprinkling the cheese on top with their cash-handling hand unfortunately I have to come to the conclusion that my first visit was a one-off and I don't think we'll be visiting again. read more

I was about to die the other day with no help in sight. Next thing I know I look up the street and see a little food truck village tucked in the corner and I immediately knew I was going to be saved. My favorite thing is food that's not very expensive but it's very good. This finna establishment exceeded that standard and set the bar for all taco stands in that area. Also the vibe cool, it's in the shaded area with a bunch of acorns (I know that sounds weird) on the ground everywhere like when you're in a Texas style spot with the peanuts on the floor. Came with my coworkers today since it was national taco day! It was personally my first time and I had a great experience! We came during noon and had forgotten that school was in session so it was also the Wilson high schoolers lunch time when we went so the whole area was pretty packed! There were a lot of people in front of us waiting for their orders, but they were able to take our orders pretty quick. I got 2 pork pastor tacos, 1 chicken taco and 1 asada taco. I also got some hot sauce on the side! I was surprised how big the tacos were for $2.50 each, so 4 was way too much for me! Each taco was filled with flavor and loaded with meat and veggies! The taco sauce was a bit hot so try a little before dumping it all on your taco. I was only able to finish 2 whole ones which were the pork pastor tacos and I only had a bite of the chicken and a bite of the asada taco. The pork pastor was definitely my favorite! Each taco was so juicy that each bite I had sauce dripping down the side of my mouth! I will definitely be coming back to try their other menu items and to come back for more tacos! It was okay. The first time we went, we saw a lot of people buying food. The second time I was craving tacos and the recommendation was pastor. I'm pretty picky when it comes to authentic pastor. It can't be too fatty or have too much sauce to overpower. Prices make this place a draw I understand. First, the tortillas to someone else's comment are not taqueria, street style I'm used this. La Penca is the standard for good corn tortillas. Second, authentic tacos use meat, onions, cilantro and a salsa. This had pico, which wasn't bad, but it didn't taste right. The meat was tasty, a tad with too much sauce. My son got his standard bean, cheese, rice burrito. Again, the flour tortilla wasn't what we were used to. Also, the beans after I asked if refried were whole pinto. It was just old. read more

I got the "hangover" burrito, which was a pretty solid burrito that was on the relatively healthier side. It was very fresh and had some delicious veggies in it and a nice spice. My idea of a true hangover cure would include more cheese/guac/sour cream, which this lacked. I live nearby so this is a great option for a good burrito without having to drive somewhere. read more

First of all, great job not claiming your yelp page. Secondly, I feel like the guy purposely ripped me off. I ordered 3 tacos ($2/each), they were out of the pastor, so 2 steak and 1 chicken. He said he would charge me when the food was ready. I thought that was odd. Ok, here comes the food and your total sir is $18. He made me 3 burritos. But at that point I wasn't going to wait another 20 minutes for food so I said whatever. Then I thought about it...why wait to charge me? Who does that? A scam artist. read more

Whenever I come here I only ever get the same thing because it's SO good. Coming from Southern California I've been a bit disappointed with the Mexican food scene in portland but taco city's Al Pastor burrito has won my heart. It's the perfectly balanced combination of flavors; smoky, sweet, and spicy all at the same time. The pico and green sauce rounded it out with a nice fresh flavor. I just can't get enough of this burrito! The dudes who run the cart are always really jolly which is a plus as well. read more

The Hillsdale pod has nice shady seating and is lovely place to eat or get food to go. I got the burrito with pork pastor and it was AMAZING. Super delicious and the red salsa had a great spicy flavor. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items! read more

The cheese and chicken quesadillas I ordered are great but I ordered a side of sour cream to go and when I got home to eat it, the sour cream was completely spoiled and obviously past it's expiration. I immediately wrote this as I threw it into the garbage. I ate a few bites with it, recognizing this is not a normal taste.. We ordered 2 tacos chicken and cheese only- for a 7 year old. Took incredibly long for them to serve us. And the tacos came with pico and onions. I ate those and ordered 2 more - "just cheese and chicken". Took a 1/2 hour to serve us the next time around as well. It wasn't overly busy- no lines to order but soooo sloooow. read more

I got the "hangover" burrito and it was pretty good, I agree with the other review that mentioned some sour cream and guacamole would help zest up this wholesome meal. The real reason I wrote a review which I rarely do is because of the lack of customer service. I was not greeted at all when I walked up and placed my order and I never once heard a please, thank you, your welcome etc.. Was mainly a few huffs and puffs and what do you want?.. I always tip however the lack of care coming from behind the counter kept me from doing so. Hopefully the guy was just having a bad day and does not behave this way all the time, I'll never know because the food was not good enough to excuse the sub par service. read more
