Stopped in while doing a bookstore crawl this weekend and we all agreed tacos were the move. We found this spot on yelp and walked over for a quick meal. We ordered and paid at the front, so table service is mostly having the food brought to you. Staff was really nice, food was great, and the atmosphere had an eclectic but fun vibe! Half of the table ordered birria tacos which were good, but i felt like i had to add a bunch of salsa verde to mine to give it more moisture. The table had a variety of fun sauces with the heat level labeled so we could know what we were getting into. One person at our table got a HUGE chicken empanada for $5 and it was way bigger than we thought it would be! Fun casual spot and the pineapple agua fresca was great!

Me and my husband gave this place a try . When you arrive they have two kiosk you can order from then you can take a seat and they call out for you and bring it over unless they are taking it to go. The service was pretty fast we didn't wait too long for food . They have a fairly decent size menu. A tad on the pricey size given the portions . I ordered the Birria tacos which were pretty good but different from most places I've tried fell on the bland side even dipping it into the consume. The sauces elevated it a little . Portion size was three small tacos but the meat servings on the tacos were hearty . My husband ordered the loaded fries with steak which was pretty good but could be layered a tad better and maybe more cheese or sauce . Pretty decent spot and wish them all the best .

More casual walk up and order or order at kiosk restaurant, but the food was delicious. The birria tacos were juicy and tender and very flavorful! Would love to come try more on the menu.

Taco de Ojo Taqueria in Westfield was a great surprise and absolutely worth the trip. We ordered chicken tacos two ways: chingona style with sautéed onion, peppers, and cilantro; and gringo style with pico de Gallo, plus tortillas with guacamole. Both taco preparations were excellent, fresh, and balanced without being too heavy. The guacamole stood out for being lighter and brighter than most, done just right. Everything is served on wooden cutting boards, which looks sharp, though I would have preferred a sheet of paper on the boards just for cleanliness preferences. The food came out quickly but did not feel like fast food. It was prompt, accurate, and perfectly timed. Serving sizes hit the sweet spot, not small and not overwhelming. Drinks are by the bottle rather than fountain, which works fine, though a fountain with refills would be a smart fit for this style of food. The atmosphere was casual, lively and positive, with a mixed-age crowd that even included families with young kids. The fluorescent artwork under black light gave the room personality, and the music wasn't too loud to hold a conversation. Service was friendly and efficient, and while not over the top, it was nice not having to clear our own tables. I went with one of our kids who had heard about Taco de Ojo from friends at school, and she loved it, which was the reason we tried it in the first place. Neither of us was disappointed. Overall, this place is "just right" across the board, It has great food with an authentic taste, fun vibe, and an easy option for a quick but high-quality meal in Westfield. I would definitely go back to try more of the menu, and with dessert spots nearby, it's an easy win for both families and casual date nights.

Friend and I came here on a rainy weekday afternoon for dinner. Lots of seating, and you order at the counter in the front. My friend got the vegetarian tacos, and I got a chicken bowl. The base of the bowl was okay, and what I think saved the bowl were the sauces they had on the side. I did like how big the portion size was, but for $16 a bowl I would prefer to go to Chipotle...

Every time I come, I order something new, and it's even better than the last! This time, my friend and I ordered the loaded steak fries and the chicken tacos. To drink, we both tried the strawberry agua fresca. I usually get the pineapple, but I'm happy I tried something new!! We ordered on the kiosk, and we sat down and waited for the food to be brought over. There were plenty of tables open on a weeknight, and the food came out quickly. We LOVED the loaded fries with steak! The meat was tender, the fries were stacked, and the toppings were all delicious. We also loved the chicken tacos! Stuffed with meat and cheese! I can't wait to go back and try something new!

Came here on rainy Tuesday. We parked in the lot across the street. The restaurant was cute. Ordering was simple. They answered any questions I had. I ordered chicken tacos, rice, beans, chips and salsa, a drink, and a beef empanada. Everything came out quickly. The food was good and they make their tortillas home made. Everything cane up to $34. I would come back again.

Fantastic first visit to this taqueria - I'd passed by it a few times and so glad I finally stopped in! The owner came out and gave our group a full rundown of the menu, with lots of detail and guidance in making the most of our first experience! We ordered a variety of apps and tacos and everything was outstanding - specific highlights were the Al pastor (in any form on nachos, tacos etc? And the street corn! Portion size was large and quality - worth the price. Prompt service with all of our food brought outside quickly! Will definitely be returning!

I'll start by saying that their tacos are absolutely amazing. The meat is very flavorful and they don't skimp on the portion which is rare for a taco restaurant. I definitely plan to return for lunch. I liked that you use a kiosk to order also. It would be nice if they had a 3 taco option for their regular tacos (I think only the Birria tacos come in an order of 3). I didn't love that several of their salsas seem to be dairy based (I think either mayo or sour cream maybe). I feel like dairy doesn't belong in salsa / hot sauces but maybe that's just me!

Stopped in here while passing through Westfield. Ordered the burrito, but unfortunately they didn't have Carnitas so I had to get it with steak. This was still an excellent choice. The place had a pretty decent crowd, but the service was decently fast. The interior decor is really cool. It's a shame that they don't have regular fountain soda and you need to buy everything by the bottle. Would definitely come back here again but next time try the Birra!

Great food and cool vibes with all the colors on the walls. Loved the street corn and sauces. The meat on the birria tacos and bowl were great. Will definitely come back.

Ive passed this place everyday for the last two months and finally went. Absolutely go to this Restaurant. They offer a variety of sauces that you can put on your food. Service was very nice, staff is very polite, place is clean, and nicely decorated. Got Chicken Tacos Chingona style and an Al Pastor Torta. Chicken was immaculately seasoned and cooked, the combination of flavors was excellent. The torta al pastor had grilled pineapple which added depth of flavor, the sandwich is very sizable for its cost. Overall everything is worth it. Definitely give it a try.

The restaurant itself is colorful and lively. Staff were friendly and quick. The tacos were great, with some drops of lime and salsa they were even better. Good selection of salsa (and other sauces) to choose from.

While they've kept much of the original name and decor, nearly every aspect of the menu has changed, and in my opinion, not for the better. The authentic Mexican dishes that made Tinga stand out have been replaced with a fusion concept that simply doesn't deliver the same quality, flavor, or overall dining experience. What was once a reliable destination for great Mexican food now feels like an entirely different restaurant hiding behind the old brand. What pushed me to write this review, however, wasn't just the menu change. Despite not having visited in nearly two years, I've been receiving a steady stream of promotional text messages. I've replied multiple times explaining that I never agreed to receive marketing texts and asking to be removed from their list, yet the messages continue. There is a big difference between marketing to current customers and repeatedly texting someone who intentionally stopped patronizing the business years ago. Using customer contact information in this way feels intrusive and disrespectful. If the goal is to win back former customers, ignoring repeated requests to stop texting is probably the worst possible approach. I miss the original Tinga. The food that brought me there is gone, and the continued unwanted marketing only reinforces my decision not to return.

For some of us, it might simply call for going out and getting tacos or even just preparing our own. Situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Roselle Park, this establishment is set inside a small corner suburban home where some of my colleagues decided on takeout, which came highly recommended. Upon arrival at Taqueria La Casita, or "The Little House Taqueria," we were confronted outside by the neon signage reading "Tacos Open" and Mexican flags, among other pieces of colorful decor. Greeted by the staff inside an un-air-conditioned cozy dining room decked out in its Mexican splendor with 4 tables. In the back, a colorful menu with nearly a dozen different types of tacos and an array of other dishes written by hand. We opted for individual orders containing 4 tacos with Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, and Pork. While waiting, we couldn't help but notice the trompo--the spinning, shawarma-adjacent log of marinated pork used for Al Pastor, which translates to "in the style of the shepherd." Originating in Puebla, this came at the hands of Lebanese immigrants during the 1930s. The tortilla itself was freshly made, of the corn variety. They were stuffed to the brim with meat prepared in front of us and served with cucumbers and lime. Fresh condiments of diced onion, cilantro, and avocado were separated in their own container, and all were needed. Various sauces accompanied in small containers, such as green, which was jalapeño-based; the darker red salsa was smoky from dried and smoked chipotle chilis; and neon orange, which was a sauce made from chili de arbol and tomato. The guacamole was absolutely delicious along with the chips, and we couldn't get enough. The portion was a healthy size. The service was fast; Maribel was friendly and accommodating. Authentic, fresh, and affordable--we can recommend this place.
