Shredded Chicken Burrito with sour cream added.

Taco Exxpress has become one of my favorite late night spots. I was so happy they opened this location up so I don't have to drive to Folsom for it. Now at the end of the day they are a drive thru fast food like Adalberto's or California Burrito, so I wouldn't ever recommend them over a sit down restaurant. What makes Taco Exxpress so great though is the portions, size, quality, and hours they are open. I love stopping by here for food late at night. Now despite the name, I don't recommend the crunchy tacos and I also don't recommend the bomb fries when Kikis is next door and it's just a worse copy of their food. But everything else I've had always hits. Just look at my picture of the burrito I got. Less than 15$ after taxes for a burrito the size of my forearm. I personally always enjoy getting the Fajitas with some tortillas that they include, and making myself a plate of Fajita tacos. Great cheap place that's open late with decent quality food (For a fast food location) and it's not too far of a drive!

For what it is, it's done well. Checked out the Taco Tuesday deal, $1 crunchy taco. Comes with: hard shell taco, meat, shaved iceberg lettuce, some shredded mixed cheese, and a sprinkling of fake parmesan cheese. All fresh ingredients as they state in their signs. Choose from ground beef, shredded chicken or shredded beef. Chicken was best. I'd bump it to 5 stars if they added a some diced tomatoes. And I'd pay $0.25 extra for a dollop of sour cream. And add some black olives like my beloved Taco Bravo. Yum! Mexican coke (looked like 12 oz) was $3.99. Horchata $3.25 for a 24 oz. Next time I'll ask about hot sauce as the tacos could use the additional flavor to help get the shells and fat to go down. Drive thru was hopping at 9:00 and the nice staffer said they'd just slowed down. Tables were clear and seemed clean. TV on football (aka soccer) game in Spanish. Restrooms were good - separate men's/women's (my preference) - had hand soap and good hand dryer. Cool they have a purse/coat hook up high near the hand dryer. And the sign above the dryer, cool artifact from Carl's Jr. While they're open late, until midnight, dining area closes at 10:00. Enjoy!

This location is in what used to be a Carls Jr. It is set up like a fast food restaurant, nothing fancy. A drive thru and lots of free parking. Order at a counter and wait for your number. The service was efficient and they were keeping the tables clean even with the high turnover. $1 hard taco Tuesday, it is packed for dinner. They make their own taco shells which are light then fill them with lettuce, cheese and choice of three meats. Shredded chicken, shredded beef and ground beef. This is a good taco but nothing too special. It feeds the masses and is filling. They also make their own chips, so they were light. We ordered al pastor nachos, the beans are good but the al pastor was unlike any I have had. Not to my liking and it was soupy. I would not order al pastor here again.

my last review for this chain was a while back. We visited the location on Freeport blvd in south sacramento and never returned because it seemed very expensive for a fast food restaurant. What was interesting, we frequently the south sac location on several occasions and the prices were decent - but prices increased exponentially on our last visit and we never returned. So, we saw this location and decided to give it a try. While ordering, i asked if they were affiliated with the one in south sac- and they were. So how was the food? We ordered their #5 combo: beef taco and cheese enchilada that came with rice and beans. the flavor was consistent with the other location and the price point was interesting. the #5 combo is almost $2 cheaper than the location in south sac And we were able to dine in an a/c building and not sitting on a wooden bench outside using plastic utensils. But there is a salsa bar with chips at this location too. overall...decent.

I went to Taco Express on a Monday afternoon. I used the drive thru which took maybe 5 mins or so. The menu has almost every type of taco and other related items you can think of including breakfast burritos. They also hv tacos for $1 on Tuesdays. I ordered the 2 beef tacos hard shell plater. The customer service was quick, friendly and excellent! I chose the option to purchase one shredded beef taco and one ground beef taco. It came with beans and rice. All the items were delicious. I hv to say the shredded beef taco was more flavorful than the ground beef. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu. P.S. the hard shell is lightly crispy.

Tried it our at their new location in Fair Oaks! I got the #1 with two chicken tacos, beans and rice. Added a soda and total was $16. I felt that was a fair price. The chicken meat was so juicy and flavorful! The crunchy taco shell was flaky, buttery and so crispy it just melted in my mouth! I love lettuce and they sure top it off with a lot! Beans and rice were flavorful and the salsa had a real kick to it! I will be back at this location, I love that it also has a drive thru.

This place never fails! When I'm craving Mexican food this is the place I eat at! The portions are perfect sized and so tasty! The location in Rocklin is good too, but this one is closer to my home so I'm happy they opened this year. The best part? My meal and drink was only $11.00!

$14 for regular burrito. That had no meat. Never again. Salsa had no flavor. It was a really poor choice.

What ingredients do the crunchy tacos have on them for the $1 Taco Tuesday special?

A shit ton of lettuce. A little cheese. And maybe a teaspoon of meat (if that).

I ordered a chai latte with oat milk ($8), and it was DELICIOUS. Definitely in my top 5 chai I've had. I will definitely be back. Oh, also, there was plenty of seating inside and outside. There were a good number of people occupying tables, so it was a good ambiance and setting for meeting someone, working alone, etc.

I came during a busy hour which wasn't idea but didn't affect anything in regard to the taste of what I got! Typically I like to find a spot that's quietly busy so if you're wanting to do the same I would try to come when it's less busy as I found myself slightly overstimulated by the business and seeing all the seats filled up which otherwise is a good sign! The Banana Dream Match caught my eye so I ordered it immediately along with an Avocado toast + egg ( extra cost). They give you a buzzer for the food and you have to find a corner to wait in that's out of the way and pick your food up by the kitchen. The vibe was very open and I liked the different seating options as well as the abundance of outlets. I ended up eating outside to get away from the busyness and the I was in the middle of talking when the taste of the Banana hit me. The best. Banana matcha I've ever had. Which I didn't expect because I've tried so many but what I loved most is that the banana flavor was sweet but tasted like real banana and the matcha flavor was still present. The banana flavor wasn't just at the top either it was top to bottom so every sip tasted the same making it soooo good!! The Avocado toast was good as well a little on the tangy side but I loved the egg. Great spot when it's less busy which would make parking easier as well but glad I stopped in to find my new favorite matcha spot.

I mentioned Fair Oaks Brew Pub as an option I found on Yelp &, as a local, he said it was a great choice. We almost immediately scored street parking only a few doors down. I'd never been to Old Fair Oaks Village before. Looking around, the little town center was more reminiscent of a historic gold country town up in the foothills than Sacramento suburban sprawl. The cutesy charm of the surroundings extended to Fair Oaks Brew Pub itself. Greeted as soon as we walked up, we chose to sit out in their inviting patio area on a perfect Spring day. Our server was along shortly. She was friendly, helpful, & the right amount of attentive. For brew pub fare, we both chose the Risky Burger. Essentially a Western bacon BBQ variation of their regular cheeseburger. Sides were upgraded to onion rings. For the brew, I got their Chicken Foot Pale Ale. Everything was up before long. The Risky Burger was outstanding. Crispy bacon, tasty onion rings (in the burger, as well as on the side), gooey melted cheese, & a perfectly cooked patty just juicy enough to turn the last bite or 2 of the whole burger into a bit of a mess. The Chicken Foot Pale Ale was decent for style, though a little old school in terms of recipe/ malts/ hops. Still, a refreshing pairing for the Risky Burger. All in all, Fair Oaks Brew Pub was a great spot to grab a bite & a beer in an unexpectedly scenic pocket of suburbia.

Ugh, I hate giving this place three stars…read more I've been here a few times over the years and have always come back thinking I'd give it another chance. I met a couple of friends after work today and realized I hadn't been here in a few years. The restaurant wasn't very busy when I arrived. My friends had already ordered, and it still took about 15 minutes before anyone came over to our table. We wanted to switch to a lower table, and the server seemed confused by the request even though we only moved two tables away. I had to ask for a menu and ask for water. My friends requested more wasabi and soy sauce, but it never arrived, even after their next rolls came out. The server disappeared so quickly they didn't have a chance to remind them, and one of my friends eventually had to get up and track someone down. On the positive side, I ordered the blue cheese and potato pizza, and it was actually pretty good. What struck me most was that the servers all looked like they hated being there. It's unfortunate because this place has a beautiful building, a great menu, and an excellent beer selection. Unfortunately, I've never felt the service matched the rest of the experience. Will I be back? Maybe. But I won't be rushing back. Eating out is expensive these days, and I'd rather support places where I don't feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff simply by being there.

Biscuit particularly not good as it was doughy, wet , chewy and tasted of too much baking powder. I did like the big chunks of meat. The country potatoes were typical diner quality, but I just don't like country style breakfast potatoes. No substitution offered. Server was efficient if a bit rough around the edges. I sat at the counter. She made sure that I had everything I needed. That's okay, I'm happy enough, don't need a smile from some one who's bringing me food. Oh, yeah just like my old sourpuss mother. Now the value for the dollar issue... The breakfast was $22, the unremarkable coffee was $4.50. After tax and a $5 tip I was out the door for $33. I recently had a wwwwaaaayyy more satisfying breakfast at Mario's Early Toast for half that price. Hot off the griddle is a big improvement over a Denny's. But that's a pretty low bar for judgement. The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.
