My husband and I stopped here for a quick dinner and got it to go. We got their OG and the Undercover with a side of fries. The OG was fine just compared to the Undercover. But both had great flavor! The OG comes with what I'm assuming to be "nacho cheese" but it wasn't very good. The bread was nice and soft and held up pretty well given how messy the sandwiches were! The fries were FANTASTIC!! Not sure if we just got a great batch but they were nice and crispy. The service was fine but relatively quick! We were the only ones in there which always helps. It's a small place with a few tables on the inside but again we got it to go so it didn't really matter. It's nice to have a place like this so close to home. Just tried the steak out for 1st time. Excellent sandwich! Ordered just a large double meat with onions and provolone. And two orders of fries. (Should have done just one! Very large portion of fries) Meat used looked very good, very lean if your into that. But after being expertly prepared, meat was tender and tasty. The bread was fresh and soft. This brightly lit dining room welcomes you as you walk in from the free parking. This sandwich shop is located in a small mini mall and is next to a 7-11. I was immediately welcomed by all three employees. The cashier was knowledgeable and helped me pick out my cheesesteak. The large is enough for two meals. We ordered regular portion and the portion was very generous with lots of meat & melty cheese in the middle. I have been seeing many reviews for the restaurant on FB so decided to give it a try. There was a couple leaving as we were getting out of the car and I asked if this was their first visit. The gentleman replied 'No, we live in Colfax and come down at least once a week'! That told me we would not be disappointed. We ordered The Fugitive and it was delicious. The meat was extremely tender and tasty, there was no skimping on the onions, mushroom, and cheese and the bread was delicious, (baked fresh every 5 minutes). There was a steady stream of customers as well as Door Dash pick ups. The owner gave us a sample of the fries while we waited for our order and they were also yummy. We are so happy we came here for a late lunch today! We were out with our friend today, helping her buy lumber, and we decided to get a bite to eat, since none of us ate anything today, and I looked for a great place to get a good sandwich, and found this establishment! The cheesesteaks were piping hot, the meat was very generous and seasoned to perfection, the cheese and the peppers, onions, and bell peppers were PERFECTLY cooked and the roll of the sandwich was so amazingly fresh, pillowy and delish! The fries were some of the best I've ever had and are hard sometimes to find nowadays--the type that have a thin, seasoned batter on them that gives them the perfect " bite " and keeps them crispy and hot--without being the least but greasy! Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon and other than a couple of lovebirds, had the place to myself. Menu is typical for a cheesesteak spot but has a few quirks. The cheese, or rather, the lack thereof -- It seemed like they used a quarter of a thimble of cheese and tried to spread it between both halves of the sandwich. The sandwich had 4 thin, crusty, dry strings of cheese running through it. The bun was fine, it was all I could taste. I don't have high expectations for a cheesesteak sandwich (given what area we live in) but this was simply awful. The fries were OK, but half of them were so overdone/overfried that they almost turned into dust when i bit into them. There seems to be a real lack of managerial oversight at this restaurant if this is what they let leave the kitchen. As you can see, I don't really use Yelp; this is my first review. I've been driving right past this place for a couple months now. I was either not hungry enough or was in a hurry. Today, I got a BOGO popup coupon and my wife and I were both hungry so off we went. As soon as we walked in, my first impression was how clean and tidy this restaurant is. The man that took our order was excited to hear it was our first time there. He explained that everything was prepared as it's ordered and all the vegetables and bread are freshly made. The other employees were also very friendly. They've hired the right people (or maybe they're family). My wife and I both had the 8" Steakout sandwich and we split an order of fries. Not sure what to call the way they prepare their fries, but they're my favorite! The 8" sandwiches were the perfect size to fil us up. The bread was so soft and unbelievably fresh. My wife's biggest pet-peeve with sandwich shops is hard/stale bread so for her this was an absolute winner right off the bat. I love the name, The Steakout for a Philly Cheesesteak place. This restaurant is new and clean. I would say it's a casual grill with regular and bar-height tables. You place your order at the counter, get your receipt with a number, and pickup at the opposite end when your number is called. The staff were friendly and even went above and beyond bringing our order out to us. I am a big fan of the Mac 'n Cheese Poppers, which are smokey and delicious! They are made with smoked Gouda and have a crispy, seasoned, breaded crust. The poppers also came with a side of ranch to dip. The poppers are great both ways, with and without dipping. I also enjoyed the crispy, breaded onion rings. I ordered a regular size of The Bacon Bust with steak. A regular is about 8" of fresh roll filled with tender steak, bacon, sautéed onions, mayo and melted cheddar cheese. I thought this cheesesteak was very delicious! read more

We tried the Steakout, a new place in our area. There aren't a lot of cheesesteak places in town, in fact, I've never been to one, but I really enjoyed my sandwich and experience. The menu has about 15 sandwiches, each with a protein, veggies and sauce. They get grilled and chopped to order, so customization is easy. We ordered a Hot Pursuit and the Steakout. We each enjoyed our sandwiches. I liked the mix of veggies and sauces so much that next time I may try The Missing Suspect, the vegetarian sandwich. We also had a salted caramel milkshake- delicious!- and an order of onion rings. It was a tasty meal in a clean dining room. One inevitability with a cheese steak place- the sandwich is grilled while chopping up the ingredients, so this isn't the place for hushed conversations. :) We'll definitely back soon! read more

Came here on a Saturday late afternoon. The place is clean, parking is easy, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have the standard cheessteaks on menu and they all take on crime theme names. We had the takeout and the fugitive. Both were very tasty. Also had a vanilla shake that was excellent. Though good, I feel the competition in this space is high especially in Roseville. I feel that there are at least two shops in Roseville and one in Elk Grove that have a better product. It has potential to grow into a good place in Fair Oaks as I'm not aware of any other cheesesteak restaurants in the area. First time in here and there were a few noticeable growing pains. Took about 30 minutes to get my takeout order. They forgot one small item but it was readily provided when I asked about it. The food was pretty good. Portion sizes are good. Garlic fries were very good, alrhough they already come with garlic aioli sauce on them, which next time I may ask they leave off. The onion rings had good texture but they were bland.
