This place absolutely lives up to the hype. I went with the Plain cheesesteak with fried onions and pepper jack cheese on a seeded bun, along with an order of Meatheadz loaded fries. Let me just say, that cheesesteak was a monster. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and swimming in melty cheese--it's easily the best cheesesteak I've had outside of Philly. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, and for anyone arriving hungry, you definitely won't leave that way. The loaded fries looked fantastic too, but I had to box them up for later (that's how filling the sandwich was). The prices were moderate and fair for what you get, and while the place was busy, the energy felt lively rather than chaotic. They've a good menu…read morewith most of the usual suspects on it, and they're located next to a small market where you can pick up a bag Cacahuates Japoneses to enjoy on the drive home. Service is friendly and efficient. Orders are made at the counter, or, dare you dare, via QR codes located at the table. Parking is limited, and because it's located between two one-way streets, it can be tricky coming in to or leaving. The Sopes at La Taqueria are a must to try. They're heavily ladened with tasty toppings, and I'd order them again in a heartbeat. The chorizo sope was especially good, and had enough chorizo on it to make two Sopes. Be forewarned that you will not have clean hands after eating them. On another visit I tried the fish tacos. Fish tacos at La Taqueria are the chopped/shredded variety rather than the deep fried filet version. The tortillas themselves were heated well, but were nothing special, nor was the flavor of the fish itself anything remarkable. I expected something more interesting from the place. On the flip side, I also tried a Taco de Tripa, asking for it to be cooked crisp (Tripa in Mexico is pork chitterling, not tripe) and it was very, very (feel free to insert more verys) good, and is definitely a taco I'll try again and again. During our most recent visit, we had the Enchiladas de Pollo en Mole, which brought four enchiladas in a deeply flavored mole with rice and beans. The mole was not sweet like so many other moles in other area restaurants, but was instead relying heavily on the flavors of the chiles. It was very tasty, and a nice change from the usual sweet moles. We also had an excellent Huarache de Lengua, a thick, oval tortilla ladened with beef tongue. I have a feeling my wife will be ordering it each time we return. In addition, we ordered a bowl of the Sopa de Panza y Pata, a soup with a spicy broth and loaded with cow's hooves and tripe. It was a meal in itself, and was also served with rice on the side along with some thick corn gorditas. I was torn between four and five stars here, and if the fish tacos hadn't been such a bust, they'd probably have gotten that fifth star. La Taqueria is definitely in the top tier of local Mexican/Guatemalan restaurants, and will be part of our regular rotation going forward.

I was even tempted just to pull in to see if it was open. Luckily a Yelper posted it and I planned my visit. I knew I'd try pupusas first but when I saw their menu other options presented themselves. Plus there were over a dozen choices in pupusas, including large ones stuffed with fish and or shrimp. The other fact that set this place apart from restaurants offering similar fare, the pups were available in corn or rice based form. After intense scrutiny of the menu I decided on the grandota with fish. I also ordered garnachas and Russian potato salad. The last 2 items are favs of mine but are not that common. With some snow occurring early Saturday afternoon the business only had a few patrons, my meal came out quickly and I was on my way home. My car filled with the enticing smell and I was tempted to look in the bag, but I pressed on. I tried the large clamshell container of potato salad first. Large portion and perfectly cooked pieces of potato, carrot and haricot vert tossed in ample mayo. Not too sweet, no criticism at all on this very good salad. The garnachas looked a little beat up from the ride but easily fixed. Flavor and presentation wise these were very similar to ones I get at just one place in my neighborhood. However the portion size was almost triple, same amount of crispy tortillas, but each was piled high with melt in your mouth ground beef. The large pup was amazing too. This was rice based with cheese diced tomato and probably tilapia. The most unique one I've had. Service was friendly and there was no language barrier. I'll likely return in a few days to try more things. I'm at 4.5 and can't wait to see others weigh in on this place.

Went here just by noticing how close to home. I have always followed this restaurant but never…read morevisited, until today. Let me tell you this place is awesome. Every table has its own digital panel to order and the food comes to your table via a conveyor on top. The bottom conveyor belt displays other items to purchase and you just lift the lid and take your plate. The fact that each table has its own disposable slot that when putting a plate in, calculates how many plates were deposed. Very clever. The atmosphere is very clean and the drinks are delivered directly to your dining table by a Robot. We were very pleased eating and not overly full. I would defiantly recommend this place to visit. We ordered so many plates. I ordered a edamame also and a taiyaki for desert. The iced green tea was magnificent. I enjoyed the food that I ordered.
