The side salmon was pretty good for the low price of 6$ but a little too crispy on the sides. The focaccia bread was confusing because it looked like pizza not like focaccia? Came here for lunch while touring Lawrenceville and had a really good experience! First, props to the restaurant for having Coke Zero, my soda of choice, available. It was in bottle form (I don't think they have any fountain drinks available) but I kind of like the portability of the bottle anyway :) I had been craving some hot wings recently, and sure enough, Fedora had some on the menu, so I decided to be unhealthy and eat wings for lunch. I was a little skeptical when they came out because they weren't slathered in sauce, but a little bit goes a long way when the sauce is flavorful! These days they offer limited weekday breakfast and lunch, saving their best for the weekend crowd. As I was coming for my morning meal, I had to roll with that, as griddle was not operational. Still, they offered sandwiches, so I chose a bacon, egg and jack on chiabatta roll (no sausage, nor potatoes available). I took a seat at a well painted table in back and sipped my coffee while I waited. There was one other table occupied by six or so women having a lively discussion. Beyond the large storefront windows I could see Lawrenceville School through its wrought iron fence. My sammy arrived looking all melty, with the aroma of bacon demanding my attention. I obliged with a big bite. Tasty with nice textural cross section from the roll through the center fried egg. A decent sandwich. The java was served in a large mug and tiny pitcher of milk per my request. It was hot and strong. I couldn't escape the impression that they weren't really interested in dealing with the midweek folks, and weren't putting forth much effort for financial reasons. Nice little place I. Lawrenceville NJ. Place has about 30 seats inside and about 12 outside. We ordered the antipasto for an appetizer and it was very tasty. We had 4 dinners - salmon salad, chicken with eggplant, chicken saltibutica and veal Santa Lucia. All were very good. We got there at 545 and walked right in. By the time we left there was 10-15 people waiting. I would definitely go back. The deserts looked good but we were full for the meal. read more

I mean, come on, what kind of friend would let a friend eat dessert by herself?! We girls are such thoughtful creatures. Right, so now that you have some insight on how a group of 12+ girls ended up at Fedora...here's what rocks about this place! 1) AMAZING selection of desserts that all look like they should be in your tummy. 2) Gluten-free desserts available! Yesterday my husband and I arrived at Fedora's Cafe for a late-ish dinner. On this cold Wednesday night at about 7:30 the room was unusually quiet. Normally Wednesday nights they have live music. The waitress was prompt and very friendly as was the manager on duty. I ordered the chicken, Brie, apple and bacon quesadilla. With a side of salad instead of soup. Hubs ordered the ham and Brie sandwich and requested it as a pannini. Both items came and were exactly what we wanted. The portions were so generous. The side salad with candied walnuts, cranberries, sweet potatos, and bleu cheese, could have been its own entree. We stayed for coffee and latte(which was also well made) but no dessert this time. Too full. I noticed at least 4 other parties of various sizes come in after us and the staff was welcoming and helpful. As the manager brought over our check she encouraged us there was no rush and to take our time. I want to go back for dessert! read more

We stopped here for a late breakfast en route to the CSA. It was ok, but nothing like the coffee/doughnut shop with the flat top we miss from Bay Ridge. And certainly pricier. The decor is more like one of the comfy used furniture coffee shops that started becoming popular in the early 90's. There's a huge array of desserts, 8 flavours of ice cream (Breyer's), soups, salads, and 50 or so beverage choices. We went for our standards: eggs over easy with bacon extra crispy or sausage and home fries (6.99). Eggs were standard--runny yolk and crisp edges. The sausage was good, but made my heart hurt; for some reason, sausage makes my heart feel as though it's going to stop; I don't get this from eggs or bacon. But it was real sausage in natural casings. The bacon was a thick cut smoked varietal. The home fries were not good--overcooked and burnt, not fluffy and crisp. Not a bad place, but not great either. The service was actually really friendly. Why not a 3? I doubt we'll be back. read more

This visit was a big improvement from my first time at Fedora. Food was delicious, service was fast, overall experience was very good! There's a few tables outside and because it was a lovely night, we decided to sit underneath the cute rainbow umbrellas. Service was pretty quick, my only complaint is the food did seem to take a while to arrive, maybe 30 mins or so. I had the Santa Fe Black Bean burger. As a recent vegetarian, I was pleased to see there were quite a few vegetarian options but the black bean burger looked the most appetizing to me at the time. And I was so glad I chose that entree. The burger was huge and came with a mountain of sweet potato fries. So so yummy! One of the best black bean burgers I've ever had! Finally, Fedora Cafe has an awesome desserts case. I ended up getting the peanut butter flourless cake. A bit pricy for a slice being $4.50 but so delicious! Very fudgey but I loved the bits of peanut butter cups on top. Here's my take: Pros Easy to park New expanded menu Cons Portion not worth the cost (I'm including a photo of 1/2 of a Brie, tomato and spinach panini. For $9 it had almost no cheese, 2 slices of tomato on the whole thing and about 10 spinach leaves in the whole thing. Bland--there was little to no seasoning in either the bread or the filling., The old Fedoras was always packed at lunch and today there were only about 4 tables. The new management is a disgrace to the Fedora Café title. The interior is ruined and modern now: I don't understand the renovation. Everyone I knew loved the quirky hand painted tables, walls, the mural, the funky upholstered chair in the corner, the dragonfly and upside down coffee cup light fixtures, and all of the magical charm that lived there less than ten years ago. Not to mention the food has gone so downhill, it's like they're trying to have a pizza place that doubles as a café when the main part of this restaurant was never the pizza.
