Chicken Plate
Stephanie P.

The portions are big! You will be very full if you finish the whole plate. I asked for roasted chicken breast plate. The chicken piece was large and they served a lot of rice. The chicken has a nice juicy flavor. The rice reminded me of Panda Express friend rice. It also came with 2 sauces one of which was spicy. Both sauces were good as well. The cashier was friendly and accommodating to my slight changes (add salad) . The seating is outdoors with some tables.

Quite yummy food! Good service. Sadly, no fountain dunks, only cans/ bottles of soda, Jarritos, Mundet, and Sangria or bottles of water.

Great local favorite. The owner is great guy. Always friendly and engaging. The menu is not…read moreexpansive, but it's a favorite for the people who live in town. Foodies need not stop here. Just keep driving through town. The locals will appreciate the seating.

All of those things mixed together and twisted and pulled into a sweet singular strand of small town taffy. We bellied up to the bar later than we had hoped, in mid-afternoon. We met the current manager who explained the history of the spot, and while it's a little spotty, they've been around a long time in one form or another. She was related somehow to the original owner and it's passed through generations of families. There are strange gifts, new gifts, a lunch counter, booths, and a small menu board. We came in post-hike and got burgers because of course you get burgers. I can sum up the vibe of the food and the whole experience thusly: ME: "Wow, this tomato looks like it came from the garden." HER: "Ya, we get them from a guy who grows them for us. He's actually my old history teacher." Local, small, quirky, but very very delicious. Simple. I'm off shakes but by dining partner got one and it filled the cavity well. You have to stop in here when in Roosevelt. It's small town history teacher tomato good.

Food was tasty. Salad bar was large and good quality fresh food. I had the chicken fried steak…read moreand it was well cooked and large, gravy was great. The scone was a friend bread/doughnut, but good (Just don't bring your British Grandma as she may faint). Meal included chocolate cake, Overall great quick service and we would stop here again.

Great place to dine if you want to take your time. Some food variety but limited options for vegetarians/ vegans. Food: --They have a self serve salad bar that's is not too bad. It's mainly kept clean though at later times crumbs here and there. --lunch: got a BLT w/o Mayo. It was ok but would have been better if bread was toasted more & if they had more bread options. --dinner: Salmon steak: I opted for poached and wow I was amazed of how great it tasted!! Would come back for just the salmon. The dressings/sauces were not that good. They forgot to give me a hot roll, but still a very filling dinner plate as it comes with salad bar, potato(or fries), vegetables & dessert. --dessert: Peach Cobbler--got it with a scoop of ice cream. Would have been better or cobbler was warmed up. Didn't have a pie crust rather it was like an oatmeal type of filling with peaches. Wished they used real peaches instead of can peaches.
