Taco Grill is authentic, prepared by people who know how to to cook! And you can really "have it your way" (I know that isn't their slogan but it should be). You tell them what you want and you can choose what kind of meat and what kind of toppings and what kind of sauce and the price is unbelievable! All I can say is that you get good food fixed your way and lots of it for practically nothing! The only reason I didn't give them a five star rating is because they don't have air conditioning and in the summer it is really too hot to eat in the restaurant and they don't take credit cards. read more

This place was recommended to us by a neighbor. We have several Mexican restaurants around us, but I'm so glad we heard about this one! The food is real food, with amazing taste. The seasoning on the beef is delicious! They care very much about what you want, and work hard to get what you ask for. We usually get the beef taco salad, cheese quesadilla, and the shrimp chimichanga. They don't bathe their food in liquid cheese to hide everything like other places do, you get to experience many wonderful flavors. Allow a little extra time as they work hard to make sure you're meal is perfect... but it's worth waiting a few extra minutes... believe me. :) read more

This place is nothing special on the outside. However, the food is simply amazing. For a small town joint, he has beef cheek and beef tongue in the menu. (You don't have to get it, but it's amazing) The beef brisket is my wife's favorite and is a top choice of mine as well. The ONLY downside to this place is the wait time after order. Prices are really cheap here but the food is just not good. No cheese on almost all of our entrees, bland meats that are chewy and grisly and staff that look a bit sketchy. We ordered to go for two families and no one was really impressed by their food. They are nice, though. read more

The food here is really good. You get good portions and all reasonably priced. Problem is you never know if they are going to be open or not. And God forbid you want to call in an order. So so so good, they load you with food and the prices are affordable. It is actually Hispanic owned so it's authentic and not that "American Mexican". Food is seasoned to a tee and delicious with every bite. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's look at the bad stuff. Please don't go in and order, your food will be ready 1 hour later and that's minimum. The wait is long, like Cheesecake Factory long. When you call it in, they don't ask for a name, so hopeful someone doesn't order the same as you and they give them your plate. Sometimes the cashier can't speak English but that's no biggie because it is a Hispanic restaurant. Plus someone who does speak English will usually step in. Found this remarkable little gem by accident the other day, as I turned around in their parking lot. Hadn't noticed it before. Hadn't even heard of it before. I have lived in Boiling Springs for the past 11 years, only a mile and a half away. I know Route 9 like the back of my hand. Unless you know it's there, you will miss it. If you do know it's there and you are looking for it, don't blink or you will still miss it. Hint: it's in that little strip mall, along with VooDoo Tattoo, Mi Raza Mexican Market, and Money Tree. Right across the street from Panda Chinese. My family and I absolutely LOVE Mexican food (especially authentic!), and we have enjoyed Los Mexicanos just down the road, for many years. However, we have no desire to go back. Not since discovering our new favorite, Taco Grill. The food there is amazingly tasty. Perfect, actually. The price cannot be beat. They could easily charge more and no one would complain. I can cook Mexican, but I could not make it this good, nor for less money. Seriously delicious and ridiculously affordable grub. I was born/raised in New York, where we had plenty of authentic Mexican food choices. I have Hispanic friends whom have fed me home-cooked meals on many occasions. I spent Christmas Eve a couple of years ago at my son's girlfriends' house (who is Mexican). She, her Mom, and her sisters had cooked all day long just to feed us. It was all so very good, don't get me wrong. But the food at Taco Grill is the best Mexican food that I have ever had. Hands-down. Sure, it's not the prettiest place, but it's clean, well-lit, and it's in a safe location. Not the friendliest place, either. The girl at the counter really should smile, but I hear the owner guy is a doll and makes up for (her) lack of personality. There are no funky odors, the temperature is comfortable, as is the seating. If you are worried about the 5-10 minute wait while your food is skillfully prepared for you with FRESH ingredients and crafted by hand from scratch, well then you might just want to try one of the many fast food joints offered in Boiling Springs. Otherwise, just be quiet and wait. Bring a book or magazine. Relax for a few minutes or catch up on texts/email. Not a big deal. You will be happy you did.. it's so worth the wait. Being originally from Southern California I have been looking for an authentic Mexican "street taco" since moving here. Today I found it at Taco Grill. These are the real deal. The restaurant is clean but very boring to look at but the authentic food makes up for that. The menu is limited but sometimes it's best to stick to what you do best. I had the carne asada tacos "Mexican style" with just chopped onion and cilantro and some verde salsa. They were fantastic. The rice was light, fluffy and flavorful and the black beans were good also. My only complaint was that I originally ordered pollo (chicken) tacos but by mistake got steak instead but it ended up being good. We were the only ones when we arrived but the food still took about 20 minutes to arrive. The food made up for it though. I will definitely be back here. read more

I'm always a fan of authenticity and this place is definitely authentic! It's a family run business, so you should expect to wait awhile for your food (because everything is made from scratch and there are only a couple people working), but you should also expect to feel like part of the family. We ordered a sopes, 3 tacos, a burrito, and a chimichanga (an large amount of food for only $21). The menu is simples (which I usually prefer), but by no means limited when you consider the number of combination possibilities. Things we loved: (1) The spices on the meats (ground beef and al pastor), (2) The tortillas, especially the corn ones for the tacos (best I've ever had), and (3) The freshness and quality of the ingredients (beans, tomato, cilantro, onions). They also have these fruit ice cream bars that were an amazing dessert. The only hiccups were that (1) we ordered rice with the burrito and they didn't have any at the time, which actually was not a problem for us because even though we ordered the burrito with rice, we usually get them without; the cook also came back out at the end of the meal and said he had more rice now and offered to give us some (so sweet!), and (2) the meat was a little dry for my preference, but I've come to learn from several experiences at similar restaurants that a little dryer meat is typical.
