May is a busy time due to parties weddings graduations all the above and Sofia came through. She had excellent communication with me and provided all the necessary information I needed to make my decision. Her process were reasonable and we hired her to cater our event. Hired Taco Lady for my grandson's birthday party yesterday. I paid for drop off rather than having servers. They set up the food nicely with warmers and the food was very good. We had carne asada, chicken, rice and beans and all the salsas. The only recommendation I would have is that they (Taco Lady) would provide paper plates, forks, and napkins. I paid $600 for food to feed up to 50 people and I was asked to provide my own plates, forks, and napkins. For $600 of food, they could throw in 50 paper plates, plastic forks and napkins. For my birthday I did not want to worry about what different types of food I wanted served and figured tacos were easier to serve. I found this yelp randomly and decided to give it a try. Well, I was not disappointed at all! The food was full of flavor and everyone enjoyed it as well! I had a smaller amount of guests so I had the self serve option for 40 people. It was great that staff came before guests did so they can set up and they even decorated it to make it look presentable! The Taco Lady saved the day. Due to the current "global situation", our son's birthday party had to be rescheduled. Every taco man/woman business was booked well into the future and unable to accommodate our requested date. We finally got to The Taco Lady, and what a Godsend she was. While she was completely booked for events at which she brings the food, cooks the food, and serves the food, she did have another option for us: we could have a taco package delivered and set up for us at our event. Of course we jumped on it. The food arrived exactly on time. It was promptly set up on a table beautifully. It was not simply plopped down on the table, and left for us to "set up", but it was brought with trays, water pans, tray holders, sternos for every pan, serving utensils, paper plates, forks, and napkins. It was set up very professionally, and even was set up with garnishes for presentations (mini bell peppers, and kale/parsley leaves). The package we ordered was 2 meats of our choice (al pastor and carne asada), rice, beans, grilled onions and chiles, 3 salsas, guacamole, onions and cilantro, corn, and tortillas for days, which were already prepared and ready to fill. The food was fantastic, and honestly, some of the tastiest taco businesses we have ever experienced. A good measuring stick for food quality is how a Mexican food place makes beans. If they can't do beans right, very little else will be done right. The Taco Lady's beans were amazing; straight from the olla and seasoned perfectly. Our son graduated from UCR so we wanted to have a party to celebrate and decided to hire a taco lady. Thankfully The Taco Lady was available. First off, they arrived in plenty of time and were professional and courteous. They explained the process and verified our order and set up. Food were ready to serve at the agreed to serving time. And boy was there plenty. The minimum group is for 50 but you will be glad! The food was AMAZING!!! I must mention that tacos aren't the only item they serve; they also make quesadillas and burritos! This was great because not everyone likes tacos (unbelievable but true). We also had vegetarian guests who enjoyed meatless quesadillas, rice and beans. The kids loved the quesadillas too! For the carnivores, there were tacos, quesadillas and burritos with the meat of their choice (carne asada, chicken, carnitas). The meat was seasoned perfectly and still moist, and I appreciated that the rice was fresh and not dried out. The beans were legit, like homemade! There was also a great salsa table with condiments and a variety of salsas from mild to "kill me now please" hot. And it all was of so tasty! Everyone raved about the food! Do yourself a favor and add on one or two of the aguas frescas. We chose homemade lemonade and jamaica, which were so delicious and perfect in the heat! Speaking of heat, it was such a hot day but the taco ladies maintained their composure and never complained and remained pleasant the entire time. They were awesome!!! Okay, back to the food...everyone ate until they couldn't anymore and there were still leftovers. The Taco Lady will pack them up for you when you provide containers. You also have an option to have them make an appetizer platter with the leftovers which is perfect when your party goes on longer. (I wish I took a picture before but I do have a picture after people started digging in.) If you have leftover drinks, you will get to keep that too! (For those who like margaritas, try making them with the lemonade.) We got a 30-guest package to be ready at 11:30 AM. They arrived before 11 to do the set up, which was the whole shebang: food trays in Sterno warming racks, cute kale-and-mini-pepper decorations and signage for the different items. We got carne asada and chicken: both fresh, tasty and not over-cooked or dry. Beans were whole pintos and rice was legit long-grain rice (not parboiled/Uncle Ben's nonsense). Corn tortillas looked maybe handmade (definitely not your typical store-bought) and seemed to have been already set up for tacos (two stuck together and "comaled"). Salsas were fresh and the red was very spicy, beware. Package also came with guacamole, grilled corn kernels and grilled jalapeños and onions. We attended a party in August and the Taco Lady catered, so we decided to hire her for a Halloween Party we had a Sunday in October. Sofia (Taco Lady) was very accommodating, we went with a buffet style taco bar. We also had rice and beans for sides with a salsa bar to go along with the tacos.
