Went to lunch today and thought of trying somewhere we have never been. Food was good. Service meh. The service was almost non-existent. The person who seated us and served us had no interest in service. Want something to drink? Okay Okay Are you done? Was about the only thing we heard. We were never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. When we wanted more salsa we got out of the booth and asked for it. Will not go back. There is a reason this place is empty. The food is lackluster, not flavorful and not exactly fresh. My friend's margarita was too sweet (even with added lime she asked for) and undrinkable. The only salad dressing "choice" is ranch from a single serve package (no other options), the server was very grumpy. He demonstrated terrible customer service (took one persons drink order and left before anyone else could order a drink!) he was abrupt and unhelpful. He was certainly not happy to be here. We heard him hack a lugey from the kitchen, it was so disgusting we about gagged. We were excited to try this place but will never be back. read more

Went in for lunch had a Molcajete the food was sooo cold, most Mexican restaurants warm up the stone with the food in it but not this place. It had so many veggies I legit saw three little chunks of steak and maybe 4 pieces of chicken. I also said no shrimp cause of allergies expecting a little extra meat nah they over killed it with the veggies which is fine but I prefer meat! First time here with some coworkers for dinner. Modelo on draft was cold and refreshing. I had the shrimp fajitas and they were very good. My buddy had the Molcajete Loco bowl and he loved it. The worst food I have had in a long time and very expensive! The chicken was not seasoned in the chimichanga, and neither were the rice and beans. Given the name of this place, we went expecting numerous taco options but although they had several this was really just one more Mexican restaurant among several in the area. And not even the best. Overpriced too, but then they all seem to be nowadays unlike the good ole days when 2 could dine Mexican for under $30. The carnitas taco on the left in my photo was very good but the chicken on the right was pretty horrible. Extremely dry, couldn't even finish it. However, I don't care for the soft shells at all. Messy and pretty bland. The chips and sauce was the best part of our meal. The sauce had quite a kick to it but we like that. I'm sure the other selections are better than the tacos, if reviews are to be believed. But I doubt we'll return. As one reviewer said, a pretty expensive eatery lacking ambiance. read more

Saw some either excellent reviews or terrible ones. Tried it and was pleasantly surprised. Food was good, not fabulous, but a bit overpriced as most reviewers noted. The service was excellent and liked that they had a bar with cold amber beer on tap. No matter what, having a decent Mexican restaurant in Martinsburg is a step up for this city since it had none....nada.....zilch. Yes, there is a Chipotle, but a decent family owned restaurant is a much more relaxing place to eat....AND, unlike Chipotle, Taco Loco has BEER and marqueritas. Finally, a uptick in price may be this place's ticket to survival when competing with a chain....support the little guy! read more

For a place that sells tacos, you might expect tasty, flavorful, juicy, and well good ingredients, but what I received was dry, flavorless, overpriced tacos. We were duped by the other reviews. I am seriously just sitting back and waiting for the food poisoning to kick in. Our server was the sweetest young man, but the food was TERRIBLE. My husband and I both had "grilled chicken" in our meal and the chicken looked like it had been cooked in a pan with no seasonings whatsoever and it actually smelled "off". It was definitely not cooked today and probably not even yesterday. The beans were black beans straight from the can and not seasoned at all. Literally not at all. I don't mean "seasoned too lightly" I mean poured out of the can, not even heated. The rice was also old, had crunchiness like it was reheated. The salsa was ok but definitely from a jar.
