We stopped by about 3pm and had the place to ourselves! Our server brought us a large Dos XX draft. It's my favorite Mexican beer but there were many other from which to choose. We studied the extensive menu while inhaling some chips and salsa. I like my chips saltier but most people would think these were fine. Don ordered the chicken fajitas and I had the Cali Burrito. They both came out quickly. The fajitas smelled wonderful and after sneaking a taste, I wondered if I should have ordered it! The burrito was great but I would recommend the fajitas. Two men came in after we did, and they both had the fajitas - must have known! Good food, competent and friendly service at a reasonable price! Can't be beat! This review has nothing to do with the food because we never had a chance to eat. We walked in on a Saturday evening and there were there tables occupied with a sign that said seat yourself. We sat ourselves and asked another table that didn't have menus how long they had been waiting. They said it's been over 5 minutes with no one to be seen. Do I really have to give them a star? How about minus stars? First of all, WORST food I've ever eaten, Mexican or not!! Chicken enchiladas inedible, loaded with hot peppers. So hot that they made me choke. Rellenos...pretty awful. Also loaded with hot peppers. She said rellenos are always made with hot peppers. Never! I've eaten Mexican every place in town, they are never hot, unless you ask for hot. She argued with me...you don't argue with your customers. No wonder there were very few customers!! I downloaded yelp just to leave this review!! DO NOT waste your time or money at Los Primos in Hagerstown, MD! Worst customer service, Worst food! I ordered at the bar to go. The woman who took my order told me the amount and I questioned it based on ordering 3 items. She told me inflation and everything is going up. When I looked at my receipt she charged me $3.99 for beans I didn't order, $3.45 for chips I didn't order and $2 for my order being a to go order(the menu says $1). She acted as if she was irritated and asked for my card to credit me back my order and to redo the order. I told her to add cheese to go with the chips and we can call it even. Her reason for charging $2 is because the order was over a certain amount. She tried to give me $1 back. I told her keep the $1 and tipped her for a to go order....When I get home there's chicken in my shrimp quesadilla as if I ordered chicken and shrimp. When I called and explained the same woman tried to justify the chicken in the shrimp quesadilla. I DO NOT eat meat only seafood so her unapologetic, nonchalant attitude and explanation was not working. I asked for the manager or owner Jose. He over talked me and justified the chicken being in with the shrimp because of the grill and told me to never come back and hung up on me. I called back and advised that I expected a credit for this chicken and shrimp quesadilla I did not order and that his lack of empathy is shocking. He advised I will see the refund in 2-3 days. Second time visiting for dinner. Food is always good along with the frozen margaritas. I only gave three stars because they are now charging extra for chips and salsa. $2 for a second basket of chips and $1.25 for a very small salsa dish. Ridiculous. We didn't get the extra chips but got salsa to add tho our entrees. Didn't know of the extra charge at the time. We won't be back. Too many other good Mexican restaurants to choose from that don't have this ridiculous charge. read more

El Vulcan is unique and delicious. Ample parking, fast take out. Try the mixed dip too.

The food here is soooo good. The carnitas are my favorite. We have tried a few different Mexican spots here in Hagerstown since we've moved here 3 years ago and this has been our favorite. Great new Mexican restaurant in the North end. We had dinner and the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere, is very clean and is nicely decorated in classic mexican colors. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The appetizer chips and salsa were excellent. The salsa was on the hot side and the tortilla chips were fresh and warm. Delicious Margaritas! Ordered the chicken El Primo Enciladas. The food was of good quality with a generous portion size and covered in a delicious red enchilada sauce. High recommend you try Los Primos Mexican Restaurant. Enchiladas Mexicanas gives you a taste of each (beef, chicken, cheese) and a taste of three sauces. Poor dining experience after 8 PM. Staff busy getting ready to close at 9. Sweeping and mopping floors with potent lysol solution ruins your appetite. Ample size dinner portion was tasty, plate was very hot but the food was barely warm. I do not go out to eat warmed leftovers. read more

While "sheltering at home" we took the opportunity to order take-out from Los Primos. We, husband and l, both cleaned our plates. He had a vegetable burrito and l had chicken enchiladas. Great food.
