I've gone here several times, it's one of the first places I suggest when I have guests come to town. The service is usually great! The food I have gotten has always been very tasty. My main complaint is that for the price I should be receiving a little more food. I do enjoy it, but as a college student I can't afford going there very often. As a chef, they missed a few points in the kitchen. I ordered a sample of tacos, beef steak, chicken and pork. The plating was plain unexciting and messy. The seasoning was bland across the board with the trio. They were served hot and the tortillas were fresh but a bit dried out. There were about 4 diners at the time and i believe it was about 11:30 or so not a big crowd in at the time which was odd. The wait staff were constantly on their Iphones so it was hard to tear them apart from the internet to get service. 2 stars is a stretch..... but i have had worse so i'm being lenient here. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: Great tacos. Cool vibes. Try the Nancy (Old Milwaukee beer mix with fresh pineapple juice). Attentive and friendly Staff. Decided to come here with the fiance because it was the only mexican restaurant in Manhattan that served Michelada's. The drink was okay, not what I am use to being from Houston. That was the only downside of this place. Everything else was great. It was pretty packed but that was a good sign. While waiting, the hostess took our drink order. People were seated in a timely manner and the hostess was doing a solid job at keeping track of who was next up for a table. Once seated, we ordered four tacos: The Tinga, Slayer, Black & Blue and Buffalo Chicken. I personally recommend the Slayer and Buffalo Chicken. The Slayer is the best street taco I've ever had in my life. Packed with flavor! After being disappointed about the Michelada, I noticed a beer mixed with a juice that alot of patrons were ordering. The drink was called Nancy (Old Milwaukee and Pineapple juice) and tasted amazing. It only costs $2! Can't beat that. Definitely try this place out! read more

These are possibly the worst tacos I've ever eaten the chicken tinga was dry and cold and reminded me of cat food. The service was awful waited 30 min for the waiter to take our order. The art of customer service is lost in Aggieville, and Taco Lucha is no exception. We were greeted by 3 obnoxious teenage girls, seated, rushed to order, & rushed to exit. The rude waitress even took the tip from the table before we had stood up to leave. No matter how tasty the food may be, the service gave us no time to savor our meal. We will not return - if you want to enjoy your meal, I suggest staying out of Aggieville and venturing to the outskirts. We were in town for a wedding. Perfect spot for some food and drinks, especially day drinks. Get a Nancy to sip on while eating the chipotle raspberry and black bean dip. The black and blue taco and carnitas were the favorites. Great atmosphere but may be hard to get a spot for a big group. We will come here any time we are in town. read more

I only had the nachos as an appetizer so can't speak for the rest of the menu but goodness gracious they were incredible. Plenty for two people, especially if you are going to have an entree afterward, but man oh man I didn't want to stop eating this delicious mountain of nachos. Every chip seemed to have something on it which is the best kind there is. I also had a frozen house margarita and tried a few sips of the same but it was on the rocks...both were great, maybe a little pricey, but went down smoothly nonetheless. Could have been made a bit stronger but if you are a margarita newbie then you'll probably be a fan. Great indoor and outdoor seating on the patio...even in the winter you can sit outside because they have a nice fire going and heaters. No complaints with the service either. One thing though is I don't like all of the plastic...wish our drinks were served in glassware instead, since I hate thinking about all the waste that is generated on a daily basis. read more

A small restaurant with a large outdoor seating area. A little on the noisy side. The food was excellent and they have a great selection of Mexican beers. The only downside was that menu said to ask about additional domestic and import beers. So I did. The waitress' response was "the usual domestics". Given the wide variety of beers in the U.S. this was not the most helpful response. So I chose an excellent Mexican beer insteaf. read more

Kansas isn't the place most think about when it comes to awesome food finds but I really love the local restaurants they have in the Manhattan area. Taco Lucha happened to be one of those gems! The decor was pretty cool as well. We went on the ONLY day in March that was above 70 degrees, the weather was amazing so we decided to sit outside on their beautiful patio. They have a small menu but everything sounded delicious! My friend and I shared the guac and fire roasted salsa with chips appetizer, the guac was so yummy and I LOVED the salsa! I had the buffalo chicken taco and the fish taco. They were both super yummy!!!! I've found that most places that sell fish tacos tend to go overboard in frying the fish and it usually turns out really hard and chewy, but the tilapia they used for the tacos were slightly pan fried and turned out just right. The chicken taco had this awesome jalapeño ranch that was tasty, I am not a big fan of ranch but the hint of jalapeño made it way better. My friend had the slayer and the black and blue.. the steak was cooked perfectly and they have these amazing aioli sauces they top the tacos with, we had the jalapeño aioli and blue cheese.. both were great! They also have a pretty good drink menu, and several different types of margaritas. Their sangria was soooo delicious! They also have different flavored margaritas, I would definitely give the banana one a try, it was awesome, not super sweet either. It kind of tasted like a banana laffy taffy with a bit less sugar! Taco lucha has a small menu, from the name you can obviously guess its mostly tacos and a few other specialties, but you wont be disappointed! The prices are pretty good too! We only ended up spending about 40 bucks and we also had drinks. read more

This is a favorite spot of mine in Aggieville. They have a great outdoor patio and fun interior. I've been here many times and have only ever had great service. The drinks are great- personal favorite is the Paloma. But of course the real stars are the tacos- all are fantastic. Call me Unimpressed. I am giving this place 3 stars only because the flavor of their steak is pretty good. It is Tuesday at 12:45 with a waiting list. Wow Im thinking this must be good. But once I was seated at the bar 15 minutes later I realized why there was a wait, the kitchen is the slowest kitchen I have encountered and when you realize all they make is tacos and burritos that is really bad. 45 minutes later i get my 2 again 2 tacos and well i have seen more meat on a Quick Trip Taquito 2 for.99 than on these 3.50 tacos. I wouldn't advise you against eating here but just bring down your expectations. I would be lying if I said I would never come here again. I would like to try there other tacos. Taco Lucha has a fun vibe and the servers are very friendly. The seating area is fairly small so be prepared for a wait during the busy times but I think it is worth it. I had guacamole and chips for an appetizer. You could tell that it was made fresh with big chunks of avocado...delicious! For my meal, I had a chicken tinga taco and a black and blue (steak with bacon) taco. Two tacos were definitely enough to fill me up and well worth the $3 each. This is our go-to Mexican restaurant in Manhattan. The food is fresh and tasty and the house made sauce on the table is killer. I could eat it with a spoon by itself! The fish tacos are a favorite as is the avocado salad. This is one of the few places outside of New Mexico or Colorado that serves green chili, too! Haven't had anything here I don't absolutely love. I've never been to a restaurant that can't offer it's patrons a high chair. I thought this was super weird and made coming here as a family awkward and uncomfortable. I realize it's in the college strip, but we've been to a lot of restaurants (not in Manhattan) with our little and this is a first. Otherwise, the decor was cute, but inside seating is very limited. Pretty damn tasty. Good iced tea. Delicious nachos, some of the best in town. I had the Pork and pineapple salsa taco and a Chicken Tinga taco and they both tasted very good. This place is great. Very happy when it opened up. It's tiny so you'll want to be prepared to wait if you go at a busy time but it's worth it. All the food is amazing, and you get huge portions if you get one of the burritos. I definitely recommend the raspberry chipotle black bean dip (very happy they brought this from So Long's). Regular college waitresses, which are generally fun and chatty and a decent selection of imported Mexican beers make this place one of those I crave now that I don't live in Manhattan anymore. read more
