I ordered the steak and pork tacos combo. It came with rice and beans and they gave me two sauces with it. I ordered pick up and it was ready by the time I arrived (office right down the street - Super fast. $10.99 total. Overall the food was just ok. Not the best I've ever had but not bad either. A little on the salty side for my preference but the meat I chose tends to be on the saltier side. I do wish I had tried the corn however. So maybe I will return. read more

My order was wrong and the chicken was bland but it was all fresh, hot and tasted clean. Service: The cashier/Waitress gets 5 stars for being customer friendly. Quacomole: seasoned to near perfection, chunky, fresh and wholesome. Rice: just rice. Chicken flautas: So deliciously crunchy. The chicken was bland. I normally receive a flautas dinner fully plated, even when ordered as a to-go; so perhaps they'd always be crunchy if served this way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This place serves all of the sauces separate. Beans: I requested double rice. :-( Update: I've returned twice since drafting the above. This family owned restaurant deserves awards. The food has been served consistently hot & fresh. The dining room has been consistently clean. I'll likely patronize every Tuesday for $1.50 mini tacos and Wednesdays for their chicken flautas special. I was excited about this place because it's so close! My experience here was terrible. I don't eat meat so I asked if they made veggie burritos & the woman answered me like it was a problem. I only say her customer service skills were NOT it because while I was being treated rudely while another family came in & was treated completely different. Now to my food... I was so excited to taste my food because I saw them make & it smelled great. My food was gross, they packed so many onions in that thing. I picked out most of my burrito because not being dramatic but that was not edible! The food is cheap but don't waste the room in your stomach. Ordered some take out from Taco Mex this weekend. Overall, the food was not bad. We had an order of Carne Asada, quesadillas and a burrito. The girl behind the service counter was friendly, the food came up quickly. While we were waiting I had to use the restroom and I must say, the smell of urine in the hallway all the way back to the bathroom is just too much. Even my 4 year old son made a comment about how stinky the place was. That's just not something you want to smell in a place where you are waiting for food. Hasn't been here that long (1-2 years) so I got curious to see how it stood up to other Mexican places. Inside was very clean (more fast food atmosphere than restaurant) and service was very good and there was no communication problems as the lady spoke English without a hard to understand accent, which is what I sometimes come across at other places. Prices were good as my 3 tacos @ $1.99 each and pork burrito @ $5.75 came to about $12. You get your money's worth as the burrito was stuffed to the gills and felt like it weighed 2 pounds. Seemed like it was more pork and tomatoes inside than anything else. Tacos weren't anything special, tortilla tasted bland and the chicken hardly had any flavor, while the steak and pork ones were better. Yum! Quick, yummy mexican food. Nothing fancy. You can order takeout or sit down and dine. If you do decide to eat in, they bring you complimentary chips and fresh salsa. Decent prices for Mexican restaurants in the area. Dinner dishes run $6.50 a $11.99. Service is good and the employees there are nice. We received some chips and salsa while waiting for our to-go order. (Something you don't see often with to-go!) I'm not sure if they do this for all customers though. Its my first visit. Ordered a steak burrito dinner and it barely had any steak in it(maybe enough for 1 taco). I called, explained the situation and they took responsibility and fixed the problem. I guess I visit this place from time to time because it is close to the house. Truth is it is not all that great. They tend to overcook their taco and burrito fillings and even charge extra for some of the traditional condiments to go with your meal. The service is usually sub-par unless of course you get there when this one gal is working. She seems to have her act together. But the rest of the outfit is disorganized and I'm not sure what this restaurant wants to be if and when it ever grows up. read more

The schedule on the door says its close at 10pm I arrived at 9 pm with my family and friends, we walk in and were not welcome at all, instead the cashier started arguing with the cooker, finally turn her face to us, saying we are close! I said about the schedule, she said, the schedule is wrong I need to chamge it, the cooker replied I can attend u but is the first and last time I'll do it, and the cashier said with a very angry face but is close already! Oh my God, I just dont understand why mexicans cannot learn how to attend the costumers, they just dont get it! COSTUMERS GO FIRST! I've been going to this little restaurant for about 5+ years and have always loved it. It's definitely my family's favorite mexican food!! We always take our family and friends here when they visit. Even now that we moved 30 minutes away from joliet we try to drive out there as much as possible just to eat here. Nothing fancy but the food is DELICIOUS!! I've tried so many mexican joint and none have come close to this. I think I have probably had just about everything off their menu. Except for the beef tounge. I just can't! Had it once when I was little and I've never had it again. Maybe if I didn't know what it was. My husband loves the beef tongue though. He said it has a good flavor and reminds him of when his mom used to make it. So our kids wanted to try it, but we didn't tell them what it really was of course lol. They loved it!!! Although their favorite is the chicken quesadilla with sour cream and guac on the side. And they go CRAZY for their horchata. But it IS really good here actually and I've NEVER liked horchata. Their chips and salsa are the best!!!! I even think they make their own chips and the salsa taste homemade not from a jar or can. Their gorditas and sopes are the best I've had!! The huaraches are really good too but to big for me. They do take a bit longer, but it is worth the wait. They are definitely fresh! I usually get them with steak or marinated pork with just beans cheese onion and cilantro. I've had the gorditas with papas guisadas (sauteed potatoes) with cheese and sour cream and I add red salsa. Delicious!! Or the chicken gorditas with all the options...make sure to ask for the cheese sour cream and guac. Gorditas are the best here! I LOOOOVE their pastor tacos! I've had pastor everywhere and this is definitely the best!!! Their steak tacos are awesome too. The steak has soo much flavor and it is not so fatty or chewy like othe places. Definitely get them authentic just onion and cilantro. Can't forget the limes! The chicken tacos are good with all the work. And you could tell the chicken is all white meat. The enchiladas taste authentic too especially since they make them in corn tortillas. It always upsets me when I ask for enchiladas anywhere else and they make them with flour tortillas. I mean if that's what you like then I'm pretty sure they could make them on flour too. I've also tried their steak tostadas and they are pretty awesome too. I never thought of trying one but another customer ordered one and they looked delicious so I had to. Another thing to try off their menu is their Caldo de Res!! Definitely taste homemade!!!! Ooh and their POZOLE!!! One thing I have NOT tried are the burritos. I know!!! Crazy huh? I'm just not a big fan of flour tortilla. I've seen a lot of people order them and they do look pretty tasty. One day I will try them thought. Shoot I'm making myself hungry now!!! The prices are good in my opinion. Their tacos are like $2.25 I think but these things are big I tell ya. Everywhere I have gone tacos are anywhere from $1.75 to $2.50 and you always get small tacos. Gets me mad! Lol You definitely need to try it!!!!! Ooh and WE have never gotten sick from it. It all depend what you're used to eating I guess. I know chinese never sits well in our stomach lol. Anyway you should definitely give it a try! read more
