An actual taco truck not on the eastside of town? I'm sure this is the answer to a lot of people's prayers. Its located in front of a hair salon that appears to be out of business (next to Instant Replay bar) All the truck offers are Steak, Pork, Tripe, & Tongue tacos and elotes each for $1. It was nice that the guy there spoke English, which wasn't the case at the last taco truck I was at. I got a steak, pork, & tripe taco with all the fixings for a measly $3.50. When they ask if you want everything on the tacos, they mean diced onions, cilantro, mild sauce, and a lime wedge. Tacos were epically delicious, especially the steak & pork. The mild sauce really made the tacos taste top notch. The tripe tasted a little burnt but didn't take away from how great they were. Food really does taste better out of a truck. It is what it is, a small taco truck parked off route 30, north of six corners that happens to make excellent corn tortilla tacos, I always go for the steak tacos and a cup of Mexican corn. If you're passing by and there's no line, pull over and get some because that line can get pretty big at times. read more

These $1 tacos are seriously the best around. I always get steak with onions and cilantro on a corn tortilla. They are small, but for a $1, seriously order a bunch. It is sometimes hard to know when they will be open, although the truck says daily from 11 am to 6 pm I believe (but that isn't always the case). read more

I love a good food truck! This spot is a truck that never moves from the parking lot it occupies. It's a raggedy, seedy, questionably unhygienic ill equipped, Spartan sort of operation. I don't know how anyone who appreciates an authentic taqueria could stomach this food! I ordered a chorizo taco and a steak taco, both had large pieces of gristle. These tacos are $1! They are small but the draw would be that they were quality tacos, NOT! I purchased a lukewarm can of Coca Cola but didn't get a straw, wondering where this can had been as I contemplated sucking the contents, uh NO! Strictly classic Mexican style with meat, onions, cilantro and lime. Don't look for crema, avocado, or salsa... Minimalism is fine but it's gotta be good quality! At best this is a struggle plate! Got $2 bucks and down on your luck... I was twelve when I ate my first taco in Nogales in Sonora, Mexico. Nogales is a little border town we used to drive to on weekends from Phoenix, AZ. The tacos are worth 4 stars. Tacos are decent. Needs spicier sauce. The service, 2 stars. One guy working. Taking orders and cooking. Slowed him down. The poor guy was working all alone. I'd suggest he hires an order taker or just ask a relative to help during his rush. read more

What the hell?? I can't believe I'm rating a taco truck but yes it's true. These tacos are pretty tasty. I'm shocked. I only bought one for someone else but they insisted I try it. Three stars mainly because of the cleanliness. The guys are super friendly but they don't even dab some sanitizer on after touching your money and preparing tacos. I ordered the tripas (intestines) , steak, and pastor tacos. All the tacos are a dollar. and VERY delicious. Keep in mind, coming from a taco truck the tacos are on the small side, and served on a styrofoam plate with foil covering them, so if you are real hungry, double that order. All my tacos had a real good flavor, nothing seemed old, the grille was nicely "broken in". And those lil tacos were packed, they weren't skimpy. Definitely will be going again soon. Tacos Giselle - I read a few reviews - regarding long wait times - that is because the owner has his employees cook the food when it is ordered - if you want something that has been sitting under a heat lamp - go somewhere else - not spicy enough - let them know you want it spicy - most people are used to Mexican food that is "Americanized" - ask for a tamale - the way they eat it - they make those by hand - try some guacamole and ask for it as they would serve it at home - if there was a worker there taking orders, cooking and serving - that's because they ran out of fresh food - and sent the other person to get more - everything they serve is handmade - have a problem with a $1 taco - go down to 26th street in Chicago - that's the way they make them - this is not taco bell - the quality of ingredients are never compromised - as far as unsanitary - this truck is licensed by the City of Chicago Health Department and the Will County Health Department - look at the framed licenses inside the truck - the person that took your order - changed gloves - made your food then took your money - changed gloves again before touching more food - do workers at McDonald's or every other fast food place do that - how many times have you been handed your change then food by the person who is sneezing? - how about your server at Chili's with her long hair hanging over you food - did you ever stop to think about how often they clean the menus in restaurants - Tacos Giselle is very sanitary - the owner would allow nothing less - they have worked very hard to insure nothing but quality ingredients and sanitary conditions - people who write negative reviews probably have nothing else to do - Tacos Giselle is nothing but quality and integrity - read more
