Perfect lunch location. Authentic Mexican. Very kind staff and quick too. Not a fancy sit down place but it hit the spot for lunch.

I had the chicken quesadilla, I wasn't impressed. If you want lettuce they charge you a $1.25 for a handful.

I have been eating at Taco N Madre ever since it opened. Fast , Friendly. and efficient. Every item on the menu is great. Prices are very reasonable Salsa roja is excellent but the salsa verde is to kill for. They now have bottled beer. read more

I grew up eating tacos and I don't mean the crunchy kind, and I've been to several Mexican restaurants although authentic ones are hard to find. I had hope for this one. I didn't really like the food. The carnitas were dry and fatty (and I mean big chunks of white fat in the tacos) and the al pastor was also a little dry too. The service was pleasant and I ordered a lot of food but all in all I don't think I'll be back. Not like Mom used to make. :( read more

Thank you, Yelp! This clean, brightly decorated establishment served what my dining partner dubbed the best burrito (asado) he has ever had in his entire life, and it was huge. I also very much enjoyed my taco dinner (one pastor, one barbacoa with generous splashes of the red and green salsas) with the rice and beans side. The fresh onions and cilantro make the difference. And oh my goodness, the piña agua fresca-- that was delicious and hit the spot on a hot day. Highly recommended! read more

Sorry but I'm a Californian where you have authentic Mexican and Taco n Madre is quite disappointing, went there once and never again. They serve their tacos with hardly any meat, onions or cilantro-let alone the salsa is tasteless; where's the chile in the salsa? stop watering it down. What makes most taquerias is their salsa people. To think I have to live here for a while what a sacrifice....but say last week I discovered Guadalajaras Mexican Restaurant in Ocala been there 4 times and I'm super stoked because that is Authentic Jaliscan Mexican food. I went in today during a time when they were slow and one thing i definitely need to mention is that their servers are god awful. One server was working the floor and there were 3 ladies behind the counter. When I ordered, the phone rang 3 times during the fact and my server walked away with no explantion or apology each time to make the call. The ladies behind the could have helped but managed to do nothing all 3 times. So, I sat awkwardly during each call while waiting to finish my order. I am a server myself and am quite understanding about many situations in the restaurant industry. Too bad I cant blame this awful service on short staffing or the busyness of the restaurant. I had to walk up to the front desk to get any service whatsoever. I also had to leave my table to get a refill, and once again for my check. My server spent too much time talking and "attending" to an empty restaurant to realize that I needed decent service. I even contemplated leaving no tip, but being as a server, I couldn't bring myself to do so. The food was good, but had a microwaved quality to it. I loved the authenticity, I just wish the servers could up their game and work as a team. read more
