Hands down one of the better Taco Shops in TJ & by far my favorite Taco Shop in TJ. Only bout 5 minutes from the border. If you come on a weekday night like 7pm you can go have tacos & be back by 9pm. Weekends are of course crazier because of the line to get back into San Diego. Parking can be a bit hard at times but they have parking guys there helping you find parking & help you park your car. They have a lot of tables to eat at & a very good atmosphere & vibe as you eat your tacos & there is always people there eating. As far as the tacos go, they are F'N amazing & on point! They don't hold back on the portions, tacos are very filling & ridiculously affordable (bring your own water or soda & that's how you save money & can buy more tacos) you get your money's worth & then some. Tripa taco is my favorite & the best Tripa taco I've ever had in my Vida! The Adobada taco is very good & it comes with a chunk of pineapple. Their other tacos are very good as well & they got mullitas, vampiro tacos & burritos. All of their meats are great & the customer service is great as well so tip good & don't be a cheap ass. Honestly, this place was referred by a family member and decided to give it a try. I had the birria tacos, vampire birria taco and a adoboda mulita. All of them were cooked perfectly and all tasted amazing. My fiancé had the birria vampiro taco and carne asada mulita. She enjoyed all of her food. This taco place is located right next to the Costco after crossing the border . Easy to spot and they have a parking lot right behind the restaurant. There is only outdoor seating or you can st up at the taco bar. Yes stools set up right in front where you can watch them make your tacos. Service is great and they are fast. I order here suadero meat which is beef and it's so tender, it's rib meat and it's so delicious!! They serve a variety of meats and even crunchy tripas! They have delicious marinated al pastor which you can see on a huge roasting spindle as you walk in. I also ordered a mullita, which is quesadilla with meat, home made flour tortillas with queso Oaxaca, am pastor meat, guacamole, and their special white sauce, it's a must try!! Ordered asada, lengua, suadero, adobada, a cup of beans and a plain quesadilla. The asada, lengua, and suadero were delicious and tortillas have the perfect thickness. The adobada taco is good but it could use less of the sauce they dump on it. Actually, the adobada meat is excellent but again the sauce not necessary IMO. Beans and quesadilla were ok, nothing special. Place was very clean and the bathrooms were as well. I ubered there but did notice parking is limited. Overall worth the quick trip over the border. These tacos are the bomb.com! We stumbled onto this place because the places we found on yelp were either booked up or we couldn't figure out where they were actually located. Our hunger was steady increasing as we kept getting turned down so we just pulled over to the next spot that looked open. Parking was super easy as they had a person out front helping direct traffic to the restaurant and there were tons of locals eating - a great sign! This is literally my favorite taco shop in Tijuana Mexico. Yes the tacos are amazing but the quesadillas are something else. The carne asada quesadillas are my life and I order about 4-5 of them every time. I ask for the meat well done and it just so amazing once it hits my mouth. The selection they have for sauces are amazing also. It taste so fresh and great. You have a choice between flour or corn for the bread. I always get corn. My usually order 3 tacos and 2 quesadillas and then order more quesadillas until I get full. The environment is great and service is excellent. I don't know how they're seasoning the pork. I don't know if it's the angle of the cut. Could be the rotation of the Pastorizer (I saw some counterclockwise action going on). Maybe the salsa selection? I have no idea, except that I won't be able to enjoy Tacos Al Pastor in the US without shedding a tear for where I'm *not* eating them. No beer, but you might be able to BYO, or have somebody get you some, like they do at El Gordo down the road. After Round 1 at Taqueria Franc, our group decided to stop by Taconazo since the Italiano was still hungry. We were seated at the outdoor patio with heaters. One of us ordered a horchata, and to our surprise, the server gave him a plastic bottle that looked like store bought drink. We thought it would be handmade like the street food carts, but oh well. We also wanted to try the birria tacos since those were not sold at Taqueria Franc...but oh my, those tacos were just so peppery and hot! I felt as if I accidentally swallowed an entire pepper container from Costco. Even the poor Italiano of the group, whose gastrointestinal tract is not too spicy food-friendly, had to sit on the toilet at home the entire next day. We would have preferred to taste the actual goat meat instead of having other items masking the taste. And yes, the best birria tacos I ever had are still from San Diego's King and Queen Cantina. We also ordered the basket of vegetables since we needed more fiber from our Tijuanense diet for the day. Unfortunately, the pear cactus, onions, and peppers were swimming in oil, which increased our risk of ulcerative colitis. Tried this the other day when our tour went over the border and did some looking around. Someone had never tried an authentic street taco before and the driver took us here. We walked by Taconazo on our way to the famed Tacqueria El Franc, which we love and consider one of the best tacos on the planet. We saw a good-sized crowd with no wait and figured we'd stop by. It turned out to be a great decision. Adobada seems like the thing to get in Tijuana, and I wanted to see how it compared with other shops. I got one adobada taco and an adobada mulita with a corn tortilla. There was a mixup with our order and we ended up with an extra mulita with flour tortilla - on the house thanks to our super cool waiter. The adobada taco was fantastic, and I could easily eat four of them if I wanted. I don't feel that the meat is as flavorful compared to Taqueria El Franc, but the fresh-tasting tortilla was a standout. With the table-side salsas and a squeeze of lime, this is a great taco. The adobada mulita was the real star of the meal. It's basically a mini UFO of juicy pork and melted cheese, you can't go wrong here. I preferred the flour tortilla vs. the corn here, as the neutral flavor of flour works better with melted cheese for me. The texture was super delicate, honestly one of the best tortillas I've ever had. I stupidly forgot to order a vampiro taco and look forward to returning for one. Service is amazing! When I went it was raining hard, and They had a parking guy that guided me to a safe spot. I ordered pastor tacos which were my favorite! Jam packed with flavor! Asada torta and asada tacos, I liked the guac and the over presentation of the meal but the asada was super chewy! Lots of fat! And not the good kind. Hard pass for next time on the asada. My friend introduced me to this restaurant on a late Wednesday night ( it's open until 2am ).I loved the overall set-up inside ( very clean ) and the place was packed with customers ( a good sign ).As soon as we got seated, we asked the waitress for suggestions on what's their specialty ( tacos, tortas ...etc ). Second time making it here and I love it! I have had the suadero, asada and adobado tacos. I love the adobado tacos the best. It's always super busy so be ready to possibly wait a bit. The staff is always great. They greet you and are always super fast. The food! They offer tortas, tacos and other taco inventions like the fantasma which is a cheese taco shell and then everything the taco has or a campito which is a tortilla gone crunchy with cheese on the bottom and everything a taco has. Controversial to start talking about what the best taco stand in TJ is. I went once to Taconazo before and liked it, but I always preferred Franc's. On Friday I tried to go to Franc's but they were closed, so I got to give Taconazo another try. While I still personally prefer Franc's, I've heard from many people (including my Uber driver back to the border) that Taconazo is the best. The tacos were plenty good, and service is quick and it's cheap, I mean there's nothing not to like here. One day I will eventually have tried all of the different tacos and be able to have a cohesive opinion on which ones are great and which ones you can pass on. Until that time, I'll just keep ordering random tacos since I forget what I had the time before. read more
