Hands down best place to get cheap eats in Atlanta! Besides their marvelous tacos and burritos, they also have a FULL menu featuring wings, burgers, hot dogs and more. I've had tacos (hard and soft shell), burritos (the shrimp is delicious) and chili cheese fries as well as a chili dog, and wings (hot and lemon pepper = bomb). Taco Pete is more than just tacos! I am a regular now. Let me just say, I needed a cigarette after I had the steak tacos! The beef tacos are tasty too. The taco burger seems to be a favorite of people at lunchtime. The fries are seasoned and tasty. There are so many options at Taco Pete. One of the most important things...it's CLEAN! After having a horrible experience at a wing place I went to yesterday, I decided to come here and write a positive review. I never posted my review after my visit which was in August. This place is FAR from my home, but I was in the area so I stopped by. I read reviews about the wings and they did not disappoint! They were fried to perfection and had a great balance of sauce. I also tried one taco and one chili cheese dog. The taco was just okay to me, but the chill cheese hot dog was really good. Please note I didn't eat all of this food in one setting. I will give them another try again soon to see if I can get a good experience for their namesake, tacos. However, I must say this place is worth the trip for their wings alone! Whomever is cooking the wings should consider opening their own wing establishment. If you already have one then I need to know because I will become a loyal customer. The service was good. It may have gotten more stars if it weren't for the rude cashier and the dry turkey burger. Each time I have gone, I have encountered the same nasty attitude cashier who makes me not want to eat there to avoid encountering her. I know its probably hot and cramped in that tiny box but there is no reason to have that ugly frown on your face like your soul has been sucked out of your nose. Second taco was also tasty until I started chewing on what appeared to be a dime sized piece of rubber glove. Very, very disturbing and distasteful. I'll be honest- i was nervous to go to Taco Pete. I don't know why. I'm so glad my coworker went and raved about it (and went back the next day with me- I went again the following day). First off- this is not a Mexican food spot. It's totally Americanized Mexican food. It is sooooo yummy! Let me continue by saying that while some places with large burritos have yummy food and all- well I'd missed being able to grab a quick not so large burrito that tasted yummy. Does anyone remember Del Taco? Like from before it was in the same building as Mrs. Winner's- way back in the day... I had mad love for the Del Taco combo burrito! I used to go to the doctor near a Del Taco/ Mrs. Winner's location and one day I rolled up to the drive through and ordered my combo burrito and they were all, "We're just Mrs. Winner's now," and I was sad. El Myr has its place (margarita!!!) as does Raging (guacamole!!!). But sometimes you just want a simple, yummy, non-pretentious quick bite to eat. That's a good time to hit up Taco Pete. Not that other times are bad times to hit up Taco Pete... They should have a frequent buyer card so I could get a free burrito every so often. Because they are YUMMY! The owners are really cool and supposedly the burgers and other items on the menu are good- my coworker LOVES the beans. They really do have great flavor in the burrito!!! She also had a chicken taco that she loved and another coworker had a yummy looking salad (can I say that since she went at the beginning of the month we have been back maybe 4 times). There isn't much space to sit and it is all outdoor seating. That's the main drawback of the place, though. Some people apparently like being outside. The food is 5 stars, the service is horrible. Employees are rude & unfriendly. However, the food is great & very affordable. Long lines, longer waits & they rarely answer for call in orders. Taco Pete, giving Pete's everywhere a bad name. I have heard good things about this place and was very excited to try it out, but only disappointment awaited me. I had the Chili Cheese Dog, steak and chicken soft tacos and split some chicken wings. The chili cheese dog was best of show, but was nothing special. The bread was soggy from the chili and it was pretty messy, but I guess it's a chili cheese dog, so I shouldn't expect anything more. Next on to the tacos. The soft taco shell was like a hybrid between a traditional flour soft taco and a hard taco shell, not bad actually. But the chicken was disgusting, I don't understand why anyone serves shredded chicken these days, it tasted like the chicken was boiled in tap water. The steak was better than the chicken, but still had no flavor what so ever. The toppings were basic shredded Mexican cheese, tomatoes, cilantro and salsa. There was very little salsa on the tacos and what little bit that was there, generated no spice. When I had the audacity to request some sort of hot sauce after taking a few bites, the cashier said there was already salsa in the taco and cut me off. I then had to wait until I could get her attention again and ask again if I could get some extra, and then I got a very angry look and small container was soon slammed down on the counter. On to the worst part, the wings. They were completely over cooked and dry as a bone. There was almost no meat on some of the wings. Pretty horrible. Overall, I would not come back here, unless you paid me and held a gun to my head simultaneously. read more

Found plenty of good ones, but never the best. Tonight, I have finally found it! It is everything I have been looking for in a crunchy taco. Perfect beef seasoning, lots of flavor and satisfyingly spicy. The meat was a greasy, in a good way. Not the kind where a stream of grease flows out when you pick up, but to the point you may not want to eat them in the car. Fresh veggies and a perfectly crispy shell to round it out. $1.50 for taco perfection. Wings, no less impressive. They actually do hot and lemon pepper mix without a problem. Hells yea. Hit it out of the park in the crispyness department, AGAIN. The fries were good too, the kind that are kinda thick, not super crispy, and good seasoning salt. This is the type of food that you make noise when you eat. As a friend puts it, sounds like you are making love with your food. Hey, it aint sexual, but it borders on orgasmic. I rarely if ever rate a food five stars, but it gets the full rating without hesitation. Customer service was great too and the owner seemed like a really nice guy. The food is great. I always get veggie tacos but my friends get beef, chicken and shrimp tacos and some get wings. They all rave about the food. We only eat lunch here because we work nearby. If going at noon, call in your order ahead (no later than 11:30) or you will wait. Parking leaves a lot to be desired and the building is in a weird spot, so kind of difficult to get in and out. The service is not great. Not sure if it's part of the charm (rudeness is not charming) or if they just can't handle being busy. Word to the wise...know what you want before you get to the window (or call ahead) and don't ask any questions. I used to LOVE this place. The food is great but the service is lacking. I haven't been back in ages JUST because of the cashier, and I refuse to give my money to an establishment that encourages bad service-even if the food is good. She's always rude and the last time that I ordered here I patiently waited for my food while watching other customers come and go and she proceeds to smile at the fact that my order was cold after sitting there for 20 minutes. CAUTION!!!!! Check your order before you leave. Sloppy COLD food and when a complaint was made rude and confrontational with two employees when telling them my entire order was cold except the fries. Btw and left them a tip NEVER again. I was a regular customer but NO MORE. I didn't trust to take my order back because I was not sure what they might do to it based on the response from the two employees. This place rocks! Tacos are the best food ever, especially when I eat them here, the beef hard or soft shell all the way with sour cream are the greatest thing under the sun.. the lemonade is perfect! Staff is nice and the prices are very worth what you get, paradise in a bag! Parking lot could be bigger but when you make the greatest tacos in Georgia your parking lot is gonna fill up! Ordered chicken strip salad, wings and fries. 40 minute wait for the food. Fries were HORRIBLE!!!!! Chicken salad had a funny taste and they give you very little dressing, which worked out since after the wait I only had time to take two bites out of the salad. Had to get back to work. Hopefully a homeless person was able to pull it out of the trash. Gave two stars since dining partner said the wings were good. Oh, they need to turn the music down. I'm giving this place a solid 3 stars after averaging out all the components... Service was a outstanding, food was just fine. The food wasn't bad, but it was far from exciting or anything unusual. Just like a now-closed restaurant I visited & reviewed in Chattanooga, I'm going to have to compare this to the Mexican your momma made back in the 80's from the Old El Paso box. The service however, was great, far exceeding my expectations-- especially as this place is pretty much a trailer with picnic tables out front. The owner came out to visit with us, check and make sure we liked our food and chat about the neighborhood. He is a gem. This area is screaming for new, innovative, non-chain restaurants and though I've had better food, I can see a return visit in my future to support the area... Totally worth that. read more

Jus had bad customer service here. I order taco salad with beef n added chicken with lemonade also no beans on salad. Now mine you owner my first two times ive order this got melted cheese. I look at my salad and see beans. I said this doesnt have beans does it. He asked cook and states no beans , so i said what this it beans on salad rather it one chip or not provide had beans. Thats strike one of customer service with my receipt that states melted cheese n no beans. The cook decides to say we did you favor on melted cheese and we dont put on salad. I said it in my receipt so you all charged me for it. Secondly the first time i order salad 3 weeks ago owner checked me out with same order no beans n melted cheese. Im telling owner first off you took my ordered my first here did it. Today my receipt states it and was charged for it so it shouldn't be a problem. Owner decided to try get issue with me , bruh order was wrong from jump with beans on salad. Customers are always right especially with items listed on receipt. Thirdly only person that should been in conversation she be customer and owner not cook. It all good tho wont be back homie.
