Staying nearby and stopped in for dinner. Our server was fantastic - friendly, informative and on top of things. We ordered the smash burger special - fried green tomato, pimento cheese - was delicious. My daughter, who isn't really a burger fan, enhaled it. Burger Place is located inside the Sonesta hotel and looks very run-of-the-mill. But it kinda is a hidden gem. Oh, and the staff that run this place are all awesome! I got stuck in ATL recently when my place had a mechanical issue. Delta had set me up to stay over night at Sonesta, and it was late, and I needed something quick. So I checked out Burger Place since it was right there. The wings were super tasty, and the chicken club was good, too. And although I didn't eat any of their burgers, I saw several "doubles" come out, and my mouth was watering with food envy! Now back to the great team running the night shift that evening. A slew of people came in when we did--all victims of a canceled flight--and the staff of 2 a great job of floating among so many tables of customers. I wanted to give this place a fair shot after a missed flight, and was given a meal voucher so I can give it a try. I came to find out only one menu item is the amount I was given so I had to pay more. Not only did I have to wait forty minutes when I was one of three people in the restaurant, and the burger was below average for the amount of money I spent. It had barely any flavor to the meat and the sauce had to pick up the slack. I will just order takeout next time if I have another delayed or cancelled flight. read more

I was in the area and we were starving. I came across The Burger Place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is INSIDE the hotel so don't get confused when driving into the parking lot. Also, you have to go through the hotel's main entrance to get to the restaurant. Upon walking in, the restaurant was very spacious and was super clean. The waiter/host/bartender was very lackluster, however, considering it was the end of the night, I can understand. Nonetheless, I sat at the bar and was provided a menu. Upon taking a look at the menu (which is limited in comparison to the other restaurants in the area), I was advised that there was No Wings, and No Caesar Dressing... Ok! Allow me to take a moment as a patron to say, I think it would have been a better experience had I been advised this upon being provided the menu opposed to as I am literally placing my order. Me: "May I get an order of wings, we'll done..." Waiter: "We're out of wings!" Me: "May I get the Caesar Salad Waiter: "We're out of Caesar Dressing! We only have burgers!" At this point my experience at The Burger Place is less than pleasing, however, as I'm never against a good burger, I ordered "The BBQ Burger, well done" It took a while for the burger to be ready, which I expected as I concluded the food was made to order as well as I asked for well done. When my food arrived I was very pleased by the visual presentation. The burger was very meaty and the burger fixings were very fresh. Also, the potato wedges were a pleasant surprise and were perfectly done. To my dismay, when I bit into my burger it was medium well. As you can imagine, based on my burger being medium well I was perplexed at the cause for the extended wait. Moving forward, I must admit that the burger was very well seasoned. The flavor profile of the burger was amazing and the quality of beef was good quality. As it relates to my experience as a whole, I will rate it a solid 2 out of 5. A lot of reviews of this place I believe are unfairly weighted. Look, good food in Atlanta is hard to come by I find, but when you find a spot that's just right it hits all the more better because of its unworthy peers. TBP is a diamond in the rough. In a town plagued by simple fast food chains buckling under the weight of short staffing and fighting to survive in a "post-COVID" (- Delta incoming) landscape, these guys are doing it *right*. I have been here around four times over my three week stay, and their consistency never disappoints! My business partner and I ordered as their name says - burgers, and out of the four current choices, we chose two each and switched off per visit. Let's just say, "The Burger Place," has earned its name. The resident chef knows how to cook their meat, and the staff are super friendly and highly aware of what goes on in their establishment. After the third time, they already anticipated how we'd take our water - that's the kind of stellar service I appreciate. The beauty is in the details, but the pleasure is found in the overall service. On our last stay (Aug. 8) the South-of-the-Border my partner ordered was a bit too rare for a medium. Not only were they happy to get that fixed on the house, but were kind enough to do so with the grace and gusto I've come to expect and appreciate from their staff. Out of the burgers I've had in Atlanta, I rate this as high as I can, and would say for the price, it's more than worth it. I can definitely recommend a visit sometime in the evenings when the Georgia sun settles and the breeze sweeps in.
