I visited this establishment two consecutive days with today being the second. I ordered the beef taco salad initially on day one. Very delish and portion size was excellent. Very satisfied. Enough to return the Very next day from Stone Mountain. I wanted to experiment today, I ordered the steak taco salad. Very disappointing and poor choice on my behalf. The portion was for a teenager, not for a 69 years seasoned grown man. I decided to enlighten the management concerning the fact after spending close to 15$ which included tip ( you know the screen display automatically these greedy days) the fact that I was STILL hungry. I spoke to someone that I asked if they were management and the response was affirmative. After explaining what I had just experienced, the gentleman was attentive and ask if I would speak to the "head chef" in the kitchen. (Chef?) AI knew then I was in for it. Whomever this person was has NOT been educated on customer services skills. His focus was on NOT satisfying a customer, however, explaining to me about the cost of steak and shrimp (which I don't consume at all). I didn't need a crash course on item menu prices. The fact of the matter was my stomach wanted what I actually paid for. I suggest this person to take time off and select a few courses to educate himself as opposed to running the establishment with a "closed fist" of my hard earned funds. This restaurant reopened on april 25th. 2024..they built a brand new location...i arrived today around 4pm.on april 26th Saturday..it was not that crowded..however guest were complaining about the long wait to get their food...my actual wait was 28 minutes, before my number was called to get my 2 beef hard shell tacos...1 hot dog..and 1 serving of coleslaw...food orders were called out randomly...example number 180 was called before 167....177 was called after 155....the staff seemed unprepared, and poorly trained to deal with their recent grand opening...as i got to my location to eat,i noticed not spoon,or fork was in the bag,for my coleslaw...no napkins...no taco sauce..etc....the taco meat was not seasoned well, taco bell tacos taste better...the hotdog,was poor quality pork meat, and it was the smallest hotdog, ive ever purchased..,it was completely over saturated with ketchup.....poor customer service...Be advised....many customers stated this restaurant didn't have many of these issues at their older previous location.. read more

First and last time. Cashier seemed irritated because I asked for beef nachos. I was told there was no such item only chili cheese / with sour cream and peppers. As you can, no sour cream or peppers. The beef, chicken, and steak listed on the menu only pertains to the taco salad. Taco Pete is a small stand right in the middle of the city. They've got enough parking to make it simple and a few tables outside if you want to eat out there, but for the most part it's a window - you make your order, wait, then leave. I've only had the tacos (soft shell) here so far, but each time I have - they've been delicious. There's 4 options: Beef, Chicken, Steak, and Shrimp. I'll say that 3 of them will fill you up, but hey YOLO go for the 4th too. Seriously, good tacos and about 8 people in front of me ordered wings, so I'm going to assume that they're good; especially since a standard wing place is less that 11 steps in front of it and they didn't go there. read more

I've driven past here for years and never stopped. Well that all changed bcuz I will frequent this place from now on. The name itself has been having a big buzz more now than ever for some reason. I ordered a hard shell chicken taco w/ sauce on the side for my appetizer. Super delish! Also, needed to try the wings bcuz we live in Atlanta where we are known for our wings! This LA based company did the damn thing. Adaptation spot on. Very meaty, nice sized wings. To add, I ordered a side of beans for my son. Nice flavor. && for the main dish, I ordered a stuffed steak quesadilla that came w/ taco sauce and sour cream on the side. I ate half for lunch the next day. Super filling! My friend ordered her usual for her and her 2 kids: 4 chicken soft tacos and 2 beef soft shell tacos. I ordered a taco salad, no shell or beans. The ordering process was a bit frustrating. I recently visited this establishment & the service was something that I have never experience in life as a business owner or customer. My friend & I visited because I had wanted to support & I love tacos. Well it definitely wasn't what I expected. The young lady took our order, I paid & asked for a receipt. I advised her that the order was wrong & she advised me to read a sign about policy. They refused to correct the order, the conversation turned into a staff member calling me several inappropriate names & threating to assault me, because I asked for my money back. They eventually fixed the food with the order that was incorrectly placed & I left. Let me just say this, I ordered two beef hard shell tacos and a Shrimp Stuffed Quesadilla and I forgot to take pics of it because the food was calling my name. One bite of my Quesadilla and I was in Mexican Food Heaven. The blend of Jalapeño peppers, cheese, fresh cilantro, onion and tender grilled shrimp had me in another world. It comes in 4 pieces. I coukd only eat 3 of them. The grilled shrimp are a nice size, never rubbery and nicely seasoned. My tacos are truly the bomb! The flavors just take you there seriously. The nachos with chicken were served with this movie theater, nacho cheese that was slopped all over the chips, which created a lovely mess. The beef tacos if this is even possible, had barely any color and little to no seasoning as well as the chicken that was served in the taco that was also served on the chicken nachos with no flavoring as well. Food was ready quick. Burrito was kinda small. I ordered chicken nachos. The beans that were supposed to be on there were not. The cheese was not melted or anything. I expected queso or at least melted cheese. Cold shredded cheese. Everything was cold with chips on the side. They were the kinda chips that you would get at a concession stand and they were stale and inedible. If this was a dine-in restaurant I would've sent my food back and left but I didn't see or taste my food until I got home. All the toppings were pretty flavorless. The sauce added a bit of flavor but it couldn't save it. Looking back there's a chance they accidentally gave me the salad. The salads and nachos are together on the menu and when rung up I double checked with the girl taking my order that I was getting nachos and not a salad and she confirmed. But that would be the only explanation for what I received. There's still no excuse for the stale chips and lack of beans. I hadn't eaten all day and was starving. I took two bites and put it down. I visited Taco Pete today and I am a fan. I had a shrimp taco, chicken taco and a steak taco all with a soft shell. In addition, I also had the beans. Everything that I had was really good. The soft shell tacos are corn instead of flour, which is a plus for me. They are similar to how I make them when I make tacos at home. My favorite was between the chicken or the steak. I am giving 4 starts instead of 5 because I went for lunch around 1:30 and they were already out of beef. I wanted to try a beef taco in a hard and soft shell. I guess I will have to return to try the beef taco. The beans were good, but there was something in them that was extremely overpowering and off balance. It may have been the coriander. It may have been today's batch so I will trying them again for sure. I am a fan and I will return and try different things on their menu. I did not wait that long for my food, but I only order three tacos and beans. Service was exactly what I would expect at a walk up taco stand. read more

Stopped by Taco Pete while out Ubering because i'd seen a number of times while in College Park. They have a number of menu items but if Taco is in the name, you gotta try them. I ordered 3 beef tacos and they came out pretty fast. Given the looks I got from others who had ordered before me I guess it was fast since I received my order before they did. The soft tacos we're good not great. As you can see from the photos they were slightly greasy and were a tad bit spicy. Not sure exactly where the spice was coming from but I did not necessarily like it. If I want heat, I prefer to add it my self. Since I was a new patron , I had questions about toppings on the tacos which is not displayed on outside menu. When we inquired his exact words were " What does that menu say ?" We tell him it doesn't display and then he proceeds to give us the detailed menu . So we step to the side to review the menu he opens the second window and yells " You pick up here , and order here!" Taco Pete had good soft tacos. Be aware that this isn't the fastest place. The wait to order at lunchtime was about 20-25minutes and then another 10-15 minutes for the food to come out. Limited seating/parking available. It looks like most people just get a to-go order. While I thought the soft tacos were good - not too greasy - prepare to get your hands messy when you eat. Ask for some extra napkins. I actually think I ordered the wrong items. My coworkers loved the burrito varieties with potato in it. So thats a better choice. Also they charge for water. read more

Outstanding Soft Chicken Taco! It barely fit in the Tortilla and the sauce is incredible. There isn't a lot of parking and you'll likely have to wait in line. The Cashier was very friendly and I could see the guys in the shack working as fast as they could. read more

these are the best tacos that I have tried in atlanta. it's the red sauce for me. I used to have an issue with these because they were soggy but when I went one day this girl ordered her sauce to the side and so I started ordering mine like that ever since but since then they have started serving it with the sauce on the side. I think this was a very good move and surprised they didn't do it sooner. this is my favorite spot but I have an issue with the fact that if they make a mistake they look at you as if it is their problem. I pay too much for these tacos for them to mess up and try not to do right by me as a paying customer. for instance, I ordered extra cheese on each taco and instead I got NO CHEESE. when I went back to complain they looked at me like they absolutely didn't know what to do and then finally the cook just asked me if I wanted some cheese and put it in the cup for me. I personally like hot cheese on my taco on the bottom with the meat (which is how they make them - which is why they are one of my favorites) and the cook should know that there is a difference in taste when the cheese is cold on top rather than melted with the meat. anyway, I took them and heated them up at home. I also don't order lettuce on my tacos for this reason - they have been serving them kind of cold lately which I don't understand why. so I end up heating them up at home which doesn't work for me because ion eat hot lettuce. anyway, clearly they good af because with all these issues I'm still bout to put on my slides and head down for beef taco, shrimp taco and one steak taco. let's hope they are open this time cuz they been closed randomly lately. read more

Came on a rainy day so my wait time wasn't long at all unlike many other reviewers. I ordered the taco salad and was a bit disappointed because it looked and tasted more like nachos than a salad. The flavor wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I expected. So I decided to order chicken and beef soft tacos. In my opinion the chicken was much more tastier than the ground beef. Also I appreciate that she put the sauce on the side. I'll give this place another try, seems that ppl talk about how great the wings and turkey burgers are. read more

Holy YUM!! Found this place via Yelp and I am SO GLAD I did!! There was a line of about 4 or 5 other people when I got there at 2:30 today (a weekday) with 5 or 6 others waiting for their food, so they were surprisingly busy. I would definitely recommend calling ahead if you're in a hurry. I waited about 20 minutes for my food. The parking lot is pretty small (fits like 10 cars) and I was able to snag the last spot. Come here. Get the soft tacos. Enjoy!!! I got two soft chicken tacos (at $2.25 a pop) and I wish I had just one more. The pulled chicken is seasoned well, the taco also has lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, and cilantro. The people in front of me ordered them with sour cream and I think it was called "fully loaded" when you do that. The soft tortilla is lightly fried, enough to give you a bite and greasy fingers, but not enough to really crunch. So delicious. I ate the first one in the car and these are definitely the type of tacos to be eaten fresh. The taco was amazing, I only wished I had some hot sauce to add some umph. I got home to eat my second taco and then realized the hot sauce was in the bag! Score!! Can't wait to come back (will probably be in just a few days!!!) read more

Went to Taco Pete yesterday ( a Friday evening) and ordered three tacos. Their payment machine will give you all the trouble in the world and reads "Remove your card Wait to continue" all in one message. Weird but I pushed through. My friend and I asked how long was the wait and we were told 15 mins, which is long for tacos but we were like ok. Sooooooo 30 mins we are standing in the cold, windy night and inquired about our orders to which the woman manning the stand (taking orders and such) tells us with major attitude, that there were a lot of orders and she'll let us know when the order was ready. She then proceeded to get an attitude with other customers who already paid and were inquiring about their orders as well. Once we finally got our tacos, 35 mins after ordering...they....were....cold! The paper that they use to wrap them up in does not keep them warm and when we reheated the tacos at home, they fell apart. Would not recommend. read more
