Stopped by and tried the chicken deluxe taco in both a hard shell and a soft shell. Both were really good and packed with ingredients--they don't hold back on portions. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot. Nothing crazy, just a solid taco. They've got a drive-thru which is super convenient. The guy on the intercom mentioned they have a salsa bar inside too, so I might go in next time and check that out. Tacos were a little under $4 each, which seems pretty fair for what you get. If you're looking for Mexican fast food, this is your place. It's definitely a much better option than Taco Bell with reasonable prices and good food. I've never eaten in, and I've always gone through the drive-through. The employees have always been friendly, helpful and efficient. They are great about explaining different menu items and confirming if you'd like everything on them. I haven't explored much of the menu, but I've tried a bean burrito (no onions), nachos, a steak quesadilla and a Mexican pizza. I found all to be tasty and a good value. They offer mild or hot sauce, and I've always gotten the hot sauce. It's good, but I could use more heat. read more

It was super cheap as well, the total was only $22 including drinks, I got the fiesta salad and my husband got the steak quesadilla with an extra side of the white sauce. This is usually my go-to when I want tacos on the go. Within the past month, quality has significantly decreased. I'm not sure if it's due to management or new staff. Usually Taco Sombrero is one of my favorite places to eat. I order the taco salad and I eat it in stages throughout the day because is it so big. One of the things I liked about this place is the fresh salsa bar. I like lots of salsa on my salad. Granted, I got lots of salsa, as I was putting it in cups to go I was approached by an employee and was told I had too much salsa and to limit my salsa to one or two cups per item. I've been here many times and never been approached before. I probably won't be back. In the future post a sign stating the limitations on the condiments or offer an option to buy additional (I would have no problem paying for it). I am new to town. My husband and I had lunch here today. I had the tamale pie and he had the steak taco plate. My husband says these were the best steak tacos he has ever had, flavor and tenderness. Large menu and generally good, cheap, fast food. I like most of what I've tried. 3 things I dislike are: the enchiladas - they come with a chili sauce which is not normal at all for an enchilada, The wrapping of the enchilada is not well cooked or steamed or however they are doing it which means it tastes almost like a soggy chip, I got cheese enchilada and it is literally unmelted shredded cheese inside, they did offer to put pizza sauce instead of chili sauce but that sounded weird. The second thing is - the ground beef is almost flavorless. It does not have any juices inside of it. It is so dry. You can eat it combined with other stuff but it is super dry no matter what like you couldn't squeeze a drop of juice from it if you tried. Third - the rice is just not good. On a positive note, they have a great taco salad with tons of fresh and crisp veggies, I like that they include a little guacamole salad (3 chips and a dab of guacamole) with most meals, and I like the beans with cheese I go here regularly and I recommend it as long as you order the right stuff read more

This is the ONLY restaurant I will go to for taco salads! While I have tried their other tacos the Taco Salad stands apart from the rest of the menu. They have the regular and the Mucho version which has more of everything plus it includes re fried beans. I am not a big fan of the Chili sauce that comes on it normally but they gladly leave it off if asked. I have only been inside once and go through the drive thru on a regular basis. Wow! I am almost sick because I couldn't stop eating. I got the Taco Salad- beef. $5.09 I have been eating Taco Bell taco salads my entire life and this salad was so delicious I want to kick myself for all the Taco Bell crap I have been enduring for years. This was an incredible amount of beef, beans and fixings with just the right amount of shredded lettuce. The shell was frickin perfect! It was light and crispy and not greasy at all. I normally will not even eat much of the shell because it's deep fried but this was worth every calorie. There is a salsa bar that is help yourself and of course I had to try them all. The pico was perfect, the picante and habanero was sooooo good holy cow I just couldn't believe it. I don't mess with mild so I can just bet that is great for those of you who can't handle a little kick. I was irritated on my 7 mile drive down Pass Rd thinking the entire time 'this better be good' and I was not disappointed. The menu is extensive and I was a bit overwhelmed but I saw a lady with the salad and I just had to try it. For the price and quality I will soon be a regular. As mentioned in the beginning, I am so overstuffed I don't feel too good lol and I didn't even finish it. Way to go!!! Love love it and you must try it when in the neighborhood. Went through the drive thru today and was pleasantly surprised. From my truck I noticed how clean and organized it was. On top of that, the cashier at the window was very nice and friendly and my Fiesta salad with extra beef was Amazing!! I wish all fast food places were like this. I am such a HUGE fan of the Taco Sombrero on why 49 in Gulfport that I was really excited to have one opening in Biloxi so much closer to me. This turned out to be a huge disappointment. This might not be fair to compare this location to the original location, but to simply compare it to say a Taco Bell would be setting the bar pretty low. In this case, it is my understanding that this is a franchise location with a different owner from the original hwy 49 location. If so, that might explain the differences? First thing right off the bat is the menu sign in the drive through. It's tiny! It's really hard to read and hard to find what your looking for. Why is this thing SO small? Did they open a location they couldn't even afford to purchase proper signage for? Perhaps if there are any profits they will invest them in a larger menu? A clone of what the other location uses perhaps? Next and most importantly is the food itself. The hard tacos are ok and definitely better than Taco Bell, but again, that's a low bar. The problem is everything else on the menu. I ordered a meat burrito and a bean burrito. I was literally, without exaggeration, half way through the first burrito before I could figure out which I was eating. What little meat was in it was all at one end with only some sort of grease paste (no clue?) filling the hall I started from. It was actually a little disgusting. My buddy had a taco salad and had a lot of trouble finding any meat in there as well. Turned out to be a pretty thin layer of it on the very bottom. Doesn't seem to be a very good start. Most of the food here is very good. The taco salad is the best I've ever had. I''LL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!! I've eaten at this restaurant probably half a dozen times in the last three or four weeks. Today I had a minor issue and after I left I called and ended up speaking with the ownner/Manager. As we were discussing the issue, he actually told me how lucky I was that he even picked up the phone. Apparently they have a policy that they don't answer the phone unless they basically have no business in the restaurant at all. So if you have an error with your order too bad you have to bring it back up to the store to talk with them about it. If you want to call in a large order too bad. They don't seem to regard calls to their restaurant as worthy of an immediate response. It's my understanding that this policy extends to both restaurants. Gulfport and Biloxi. VERY DISAPPOINTING. YOU WONT SUCCEED VERY LONG IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE DOING THE CUSTOMERS A FAVOR TO TAKE THEIR ORDER OR ADDRESS THEIR CONCERNS. Perhaps this is a Rogue Franchisee situation. The prices are cheap.. it's fast food, but don't get me wrong, this is not Taco Bell garbage. I like this location a lot better than the crowed seating in the store in Gulfport. For some reason the portions seem to be more generous and the service is quite fast. It seems to be better managed. Same pricing I think and same well offered menu. The salsas on the bar are fresh and well stocked. The dining area is large, clean and easy to navigate. Plenty of seating here even in busy times. Inside restrooms are clean and spacious. Near the VA hospital and Coliseum. I eat here on average once a week. Always had a good experience here unlike the Gulfport location. Taco Sombrero is a local favorite at either location, but I think this Biloxi site is the best for many reasons including seating, parking and clean accessible restrooms. Best of the two for small children for sure. read more

I don't know where some of these negative reviews are coming from. I visited the Taco Sombrero on Pass Road in Biloxi. I decided to use the drive-thru instead of going inside. My order was taken quickly and no long wait at the window. I ordered the Fiesta taco salad. I have to tell you that it was the BEST taco salad I've had in a long time. They have Taco Bell beat! Not just in the size and quality of their salad, but the price is great, too. This is my new, favorite taco place!!!! read more

Fantastic! I have tried many things, but the menu is so big and with so many ways to order, it will take a while to try everything. Maybe that's why I eat there so frequently and don't get tired of it. My favorite so far are the Macho Chicken Taco, The Macho Fiesta Salad, and the Mexican Pizza. I am very very disappointed as I have been trying to shop local and not Taco Bell since the epidemic began. This week alone I ordered two macho taco salads (different days). The first wasn't made correctly and had no Chile sauce, but I took it anyway as I am laid off from work as others and there is no need to waste food. The second time I was not told that they did not have spicy ranch sauce when I ordered and paid prior to receiving my order, I said okay but I DID order on the side a large Chile sauce just in case it wasn't on there as in the past and it wasn't. Tonight I went to get the same Macho salad and asked if they had the spicy ranch and was told they did, but they are charging .80 cents per the little half filled container that they give you. I said nope, I'm done as this is normally a given on the condiment bar. I'm not sure where they are going with this few cents and nickel and dime everything, but I'm now done. You should not treat faithful clients this way. I went to Taco Bell and not only did I get what I ordered, but a friendly smile along the way. Short changing will get you no where on a reasonable order and delivering less to what your menu states is pitiful to a faithful client protecting your staff over large chains over the last two months. On Veterans Day I went here to avoid the big crowds of Veterans getting their free meal at the usual chain restaurants. One other person and myself were the only ones there. The employees said it was a dead day thinking their patrons were at other places for their free Veterans Day meal. I got the Chicken Taco salad and a few beef tacos. After eating the salad I could tell then that something wasn't right so I threw the tacos in the trash. Apparently since there were few patrons they let the food sit on the line all day without checking the temps and the food spoiled. Unknowingly I ate the rotten food and got the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. I was up all night till 6:30am as I battled this sickness from both ends at the same time. After that battle I was down for the next two days as my body processed the rest of the poison food still in my system. I would suggest to ANYONE to NEVER eat at this restaurant, you'll be putting your health in their hands. This goes without saying that I, or any of my family will cross their doorstep again.
