First, I want to clarify this review has nothing to do with food quality. The reason for the 3 stars is due to 2 things on the service perspective. The food here is great and we love to frequent it. 1. Going on a Saturday there is a high risk of not getting tamales. Three times they have been out. This being the third time I felt compelled to ensure others are aware. 2. Second, I inquired to the person (on todays visit) I was spoken to rudely. If a customer is inquiring why the tamales are not available they should not have to deal with the associate being rude to them. read more

Bruh, they reel you in with the "Chipotle" style line, but their tamales really get you with the homemade feel. Their chicken tamales were green chile and really hit the spot for me as I was visiting Biloxi for Thanksgiving. They have lots of options (although they didn't have al pastor when I went, which I was really looking forward to), large and clean area, great service, and not too far from hotels and main shopping areas. I will definitely be back for their carne asada burrito (or maybe al pastor if they bring it back), salsa, and amazing tamales. read more

I recently moved from Colorado to Mississippi and have been completely disappointed in the stuff that is passing for Mexican food around here. Finally, thanks to the Burrito Zone I found a place that knows what a real tamale looks and taste like. They were delicious. I had the chicken and beef and will definitely be back for a dozen. My chicken burrito was huge and so yummy as well. Wish they had a pinto bean option but the rice and hot salsa made up for it. So far the best Mexican food I've had here in the Gulf coast. Tucked away in an unassuming little strip center on a street that no one ever pays attention to is where the best Mexican food in the tri-county area lies! (I'm just assuming that. i don't even know what the tri-county area is.) But I'm from Texas y'all and i have been searching Hi and Low for good Mexican food ever since I moved to this great state and it's been a sad sad series of events. Sr Chief and i have not had a good time. I will spare you the details here (look for the 1 star reviews later... lol) We walked in and the place was empty but we were greeted to a beautiful aroma! Good Sign. We start looking at the menu trying to decide what we want and other customers start rolling in, apparently we had just beaten the rush. Sr wasn't so sure about getting a burrito. You see, he's never been to a Freebirds or a Chipotle. Being stationed out of the country for over a decade will do that to you... Bless his heart. Anywho. I tell him we're getting a burrito. He decides on 3 barbacoa tacos and we both want a tamale! We got pork. We had let 2 customers go before us while we decided, bad idea. Both obviously return customers, the 2nd a man and his child were buying a boatload of tacos. I rolled my eyes, My stomach growled. I blamed Sr Chief. He took ownership. The restaurant continued to fill with customers. But, the mom and pop team worked swiftly and efficiently to fill the order . There was no reason for me to get all uppity about it. We were quickly at the front of the line placing our order. I grabbed our order plus a Mexican coke! and headed to the table with HIGH HOPES! And ladies and gentlemen, I (for the FIRST TIME) was not disappointed. First we unwrapped the tamale. Because it looked like a little present! And it was! FROM GOD! It looked right. It smelled right. Would it taste right? I dove in. YES! It tasted sooooo good!! We devoured it. Now on to the rest we said! Would it be right too?! As i forked into my burrito and took that bite i sighed with sweet joy. I found my happy place. I chewed slowly, with my eyes closed and i thanked the sweet baby jesus for telling me to go to Burrito Zone today. When i finally opened my eyes and looked over at Sr, i saw a big smile on his face too! He was doing a little happy dance in his chair as he was chewing. Everything was so flavorful. The chicken in my burrito. The salsas! The extra spicy really is! The regular tastes the way the red sauce does back home! So does the green. I had a mouthgasm! We switched plates. The barbacoa tacos were amazing. They were double corn tortilla wrapped with a big pile of meat, full of lettuce, tomato, onion, pico, guacamole and sour cream. We added the salsas I could do without the lettuce and tomato and i would add cilantro and a squirt of lime but they were AuuuuHHH-maaazzeBalls! Y'all. I literally cried small tears of joy during this meal. i cannot even. i just can't. Just go. Get in your car, Hop on your bike, Walk, pogo stick, Phone a friend. I was on my way to Baja Beach to try there Gulf Coast burrito which is $20, when I stopped myself and said, I'm not paying $20 for a freaking burrito. What else is around? Man I'm glad I did that. This place is awesome and affordable. Because of that, my gf and I got whatever the heck we wanted including a couple hecho en Mexico Cokes and all the fixings. And it was $20. Man.. after reading all the reviews, I was so excited to try this place. But I was so disappointed. I ordered two steak tacos and two pork tacos. Also got the chicken salad bowl and tres leches cake. First, the tacos.. it had an immeasurable amount of olives. Why the hell were there so many freakin olives?! The steak and pork itself was bland. I tried to add the sauces, and they tasted like they came out of a can.. it was not good at all. With the chicken salad, there were again so many freakin olives. If added a good amount it probably would've helped. But the taste itself is just very underwhelming. The cake was also okay. I've honestly had better tres leche cake.
