Let's get the obvious out of the way: yes, this is a gas station taco shop. Which also means it's…read moreexactly the kind of place where you hope to find great Mexican food. The tortillas were fresh, the shrimp tacos were surprisingly good, and the salsas tasted homemade and packed plenty of flavor. I'll definitely be back to try the chile relleno. The prices are a tad high for what you get, and I wish they offered some chips and salsa to snack on while waiting. Still, for quick roadside eats, this is a solid stop that's well worth pulling over for.

Hubs got the Taco Lengua, which is beef tongue taco. The order comes with 3 tacos and is ridiculously heavily filled. He said that the beef tongue is nice and soft. The provided brown sauce was very spunky and the green sauce was pretty good as well. It was nice and tart. He said that it was one of the best tacos that he's had. I got the Plato de Chile Relleno along with a side of tortillas. We were surprised to see that the rellenos came with macaroni salad instead of rice, but it was delicious! The beans were nice, soft and flavorful. Chile rellenos were delicious, as well. Everything was made to order and delicious. All came with chips and soda. There were some booths in the back alongside the wall but we chose to eat at a community table in the middle. There wasn't anyone sitting there. This place is struggling. We were told that customers have stopped coming since the new administration took over. Hopefully, business will pick up soon for them. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Pancho's Mexican Grill did not disappoint. I kept seeing reviews about their birria, so I had to…read moretry it for myself. I ordered the tacos de birria de res con queso along with a jamaica drink, and the total came out to $26.44, which felt reasonable for five tacos. I placed a pickup order and everything was packed really well. The tacos were full of flavor and the consommé was especially gooood. I would definitely order this again and I am looking forward to coming back to try more items on the menu.

The restaurant serves delicious, fresh food in a very homey atmosphere. The servers are kind, attentive, and so helpful; from time to time, you might even be served by Pancho himself, who is an absolute gem! We started with the guacamole and chips, followed by the nachos, where you can customize them with your choice of meat. For our entrees, we ordered the Huaraches with steak, which is a large, handmade, slightly fried tortilla topped with beans, onions, lettuce, crema, and cheese. We also got the Tacos, which come five to an order. You can choose up to two meats, but we stuck with the classic Al Pastor. The meat was so tender and flavorful, served with the traditional onion, cilantro, and lime on the side. Finally, and my personal favorite, we had the Picaditas. Like the tacos, you can choose two meats, so we went with Al Pastor and steak. Similar to the Huaraches, these are four smaller, slightly fried homemade tortillas with green and red sauce on the bottom, topped with lettuce, onion, and cheese! To wash everything down, we had the homemade Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea), though their Horchata is also delicious. Overall, this is one of my favorite spots; it reminds me of my childhood, and the food is just as good as what you'd find in Mexico. If you're looking for an authentic experience, this is it!
