my first visit to taco time: The good; quick service, no lines, place was new & clean. Menu has a good selection, but not always intuitively obvious. The portions are large, i got a habanero burrito (beef) and a crunchy burrito (think over sized taquito) - i couldn't finish both. The interesting; A "natural" taco means made with whole wheat tortilla. Having spent a good amount of time in southern california- i never would have guessed. The not so good: The prices are more on the upper end, so i struggled with taste / consistency of the "beef" in the burrito. 1st, my fault, i expected shredded beef (or i would have gotten the chicken), it tasted/laid on the tongue - like finely ground hamburger with a grit consistency of vegetable protein. no beef flavor. Like i said, it could be just my missed expectation- like picking up a glass you think is sprite & it being water.

The food is fine but there are several other choices of quick Mexican food in Bellingham that are not chain restaurants that are much better values

I'm going to start this with... I'm a Californian. We wanted to try this Taco Time place that we've only ever seen driving through Bellingham. Today was the day. Since Costco across the street pulled the plug on our beloved polish dogs... here we were. Upon entering, my first thought was "this place reminds me of Chipotle". It was nice, clean, and not quite like your typical fast food joint. We got in line and we're scanning the menu they had displayed on the wall. We kept laughing out loud because we couldn't figure out why it would say "taco" and have a photo of what was obviously a burrito. Also it would say "crispy burrito" and have a photo of a taquito... we honestly thought this was a WA thing... so I asked the friendly guy at the register. Nope, not a WA thing... just a Taco Time thing. LOL! I ordered the beef combo burrito meal. $10... *Beef burrito 2.5/5 stars... Wasn't a fan of the beef. It was basically a more "fresh" version of what you'd get at Taco Bell. With quac, so more pricey. *Mexi Fries 5/5 stars... why are these called fries? They are tater tots. Why are they mexi? They're just regular tots. I probably won't be back. If I want fast faux mexican food, I'll go to Taco Bell... for cheaper food. I try to be supportive of all local businesses... but this wasn't my jam.

Just go to Taco Bell. The food felt super old and tasted so bland. The inside had the strangest yucky smell. I should have left immediately.

I had the worst burrito I've ever tasted. Nothing but spiced ground beef wrapped in a shell way overpriced

There are outlets at every seating area that also have USB ports which are really cool, don't think I have seen that in a fast food place before.

This time we shared one with each kind of meat offered: chicken, pork and beef. I can't say which I liked more because they all were so awesome as ever. We tried something completely new to us this time: a ceviche called aguachile negro. I Googled it: "Aguachile negro is a bold, spicy Mexican seafood dish featuring raw, butterflied shrimp "cooked" in lime juice, blended with a dark, savory sauce made from roasted chiles, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Maggi seasoning. Served cold with cucumber and red onion, it offers a deep umami flavor and intense heat, often topped with avocado." I'll say it's hot!!! A heat that grows and fills your whole head. Yet, it was so incredibly delicious I weathered the effects. I am not kidding--I don't think I've had a dish I have loved more. The flavor is fantastic, and when I fished for a little raw prawn and put that thing in my mouth, I just thrilled. We had some of their wonderful guacamole as a starter, and I wish now I had saved some to try with the ceviche--it would have been lovely. I will go back.

I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp entre and they were cooked to perfection in the delicious poblana cream sauce. This sauce hits all the right spots and I absolutely love that they cover their dishes with it. I enjoy dipping my chips in there and creating a nacho with all the fixings. The salsa and guacamole is always incredibly fresh and I love the way they make their chips. Tasty, fresh, perfectly salted, and homemade. The pico that came wild the dish was delicious and I loved that they added mango to it. My friends got enchiladas which are always a great choice and we ordered mojitos which were very fresh too. I love how their drinks are always beautifully made with lovely garnishes and fruits to add color. Very excited to go back and try different drinks and entrees! Absolutely LOVE this authentic Mexican restaurant.

The restaurant seemed to be a house, with plenty of space. Bottled drinks and desserts are in the fridge cooler and to get them ourselves if we want that. I decided on the Mulitas instead of my usual enchilada plate. It's a smaller version with 3 mini size tortilla filled with meat of your choice. I had carnitas, beef and chicken. All were good. Served with beans and rice. My friend had the beef burrito and it was pretty big. She said it was tasty and very filling. It was literally the only meal she had for the day. It seemed to be a family run place and so service was a bit slow. We had to wait a while before someone came out to the counter for us to make payment. There was no bell to alert them. I noticed other customers popping into the kitchen/staff area to get their attention to take order.
