This restaurant serves tasty food in a comfortable setting. They have a great selection of enchiladas and combo meals. The mole enchiladas are my new favorite; the rich creamy mole sauce is perfectly seasoned and delicious. I've also tried the carne asada platter and it was very tasty as well. They have iced horchata coffee, Jarritos, margaritas and other happy hour drinks. The exposed brick, open kitchen and booth seating maximized the admittedly limited square footage, so it doesn't feel crowded. They have a covered outdoor seating area as well. We will definitely keep coming here.

This was an experience that almost did not happen. When we entered the restaurant, the initial reaction is "this place is a dive." In truth, the restaurant if small and nondescript. You would never know it was a Mexican restaurant. It is not very attractive or inviting. The kid started crying that "this is not a good restaurant" (part of which was her being hungry and grumpy). We persevered and it turned out to be a great experience. There is an abbreviated menu on the wall but to get the full menu, which is quite extensive, you need to use the QR code on the table. To start, you get complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa is excellent. Obviously homemade and has a nice kick. Very flavorful. The menu has literally everything Mexican and then some, but we focused on the seafood. I had the shrimp cocktail which was large with maybe 10 good sized shrimp along the rim. The shrimp had not fishy taste or smell. The cocktail sauce was full of avocado, jalapeño, onions, and tomatoes. It was delicious. I also had a sopa with chicken and beans and the masa was lightly fried and not at all greasy. It was delicate and light, one of the best sopes I ever had. The wife had fajita Hawaiian shrimp which basically is shrimp fajita with pieces of pineapple added. She liked it a lot. The kid had the kid's taco and is often fussy about her taco, but she devoured her crunch taco--the crispy tortilla was homemade. I had a rocks margarita which was pretty average so after that I had a shot of Don Julio anejo and suddenly the world was a better place. Our server, who I assume was the owner, was helpful and pleasant. At the end of the day, we were happy that we did not walk out upon first impression. The food is fresh, homemade, and very flavorful. I would return here again and again if I lived here.

Everything was good. The guac was great. Veg burrito and spinach enchilada were both filled with veggies and yummy. The green sauce was super bright, red sauce rich and complex

Service was amazing even when they were busy on Cinco de Mayo. The margaritas are delicious, especially on the rocks. Food is pretty authentic, I ordered tacos & queso for food and every table is served chips and salsa while you wait on your meal but my highlight was the drinks! The restaurant is very small so not recommended for large groups.

It seems that the days of inexpensive lunches are mostly done. This place is a zero-frills, zero-ambience (and zero-heat on a cold day!!!) hole-in-the-wall that serves excellent Mexican food. Three of us ordered the fish taco specials with two sides of guacamole and it came to $65 with tip. But you definitely get what you pay for. This is as good as any Mexican food any of us have had in the US - hearty and healthy with perfect tacos and killer sides. 4 stars is about right - docking 1 star for the afore-mentioned gripes seems fair, but I'd return in a heartbeat.

Watermelon margarita with silver tequila, chamoy and tajin rim. Soo good!

Amazing food and customer service! Small hole in the wall type place but they have indoor and covered patio seating with about 8 tables. The asada is the best asada I've had in washington state the last 3 years I've lived here! I came here on a business trip and will be back on vacation to bring my family here for legit authentic Mexican food. Their table salsa is good but not spicy , wish they had a spicier option but their taco sauce is tasty and spicy. Their corn tortillas are homemade and thicker than your typical tortilla but so delicious! I'm from socal and this is as close as it gets to true LA tacos. Went back today for lunch before we head back out of town and got the quesabirria beef tacos and they had good flavor but the tortillas were soggy on the bottom and they didn't put much cheese in them but the birria was flavorful. Their queso dip is out of this world, homemade and full of pepper jack cheese. My favorite thing was the asada though, I ordered 6 asada tacos to go,which were $4 a piece but they are huge and again homemade tortillas!

Family affair!! This warm family owned Mexican eatery is a local gem! Pollo a la Diabla US$14.95 5/5 stars Spicy! Tender! Succulent! The chicken breast done perfectly to keep the natural juice inside while its cooked in a tomato chilli sauce. Carne Asada US$14.95 4/5 stars Tender, juicy grilled beef served with rice, beans, guacamole, green onion, jalapeños. Hearty and fulfilling, with my choice of flour tortillas, makes a perfect fall dinner! Flan US$5.95 2/5 stars Dessert Flan, sorry to say is not up to standard, way too over cooked and hard. I may be comparing it to Spanish or French version but still not to my taste. Being in the downtown core of Bellingham, this is a great place to come and feel the local vibe and enjoy some Mexican hospitality!! Final Score: 3.6 stars Verdict: Recommend!!

After hiking in the Chuckanuts nearby, we headed to Bellingham for a bite to eat. Since it was also Cinco de Mayo, we went in search of Mexican food and came across Tadeo's! The food was great! The only downside was that, we sat outside since we had two pups, but because their tables outside are not fenced, no alcohol is allowed. So now celebration margs for us that Saturday. We ordered: - Mexican Shrimp Cocktail - Chicken Burrito - Taco Plate - Nachos Food wise, it was delicious. Maybe a little on the pricier side, especially for a taco plate. They were very busy and forgot our drinks until the end. Free chips and salsa. I love a good Mexican Shrimp Cocktail, this place had nice large shrimps, flavor was pretty good, but a little on the runny side. They also messed up on our credit card charges and I had to go back and get them corrected. They undercharged by a lot, so I had to say something. I blame Cinco de Mayo for how kind terrible the service was. But the food was good.

Chili Verde and Fish Tacos.

This time we shared one with each kind of meat offered: chicken, pork and beef. I can't say which I liked more because they all were so awesome as ever. We tried something completely new to us this time: a ceviche called aguachile negro. I Googled it: "Aguachile negro is a bold, spicy Mexican seafood dish featuring raw, butterflied shrimp "cooked" in lime juice, blended with a dark, savory sauce made from roasted chiles, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Maggi seasoning. Served cold with cucumber and red onion, it offers a deep umami flavor and intense heat, often topped with avocado." I'll say it's hot!!! A heat that grows and fills your whole head. Yet, it was so incredibly delicious I weathered the effects. I am not kidding--I don't think I've had a dish I have loved more. The flavor is fantastic, and when I fished for a little raw prawn and put that thing in my mouth, I just thrilled. We had some of their wonderful guacamole as a starter, and I wish now I had saved some to try with the ceviche--it would have been lovely. I will go back.

The salsa and guacamole is always incredibly fresh and I love the way they make their chips. Tasty, fresh, perfectly salted, and homemade. The pico that came wild the dish was delicious and I loved that they added mango to it. My friends got enchiladas which are always a great choice and we ordered mojitos which were very fresh too. I love how their drinks are always beautifully made with lovely garnishes and fruits to add color. Very excited to go back and try different drinks and entrees! Absolutely LOVE this authentic Mexican restaurant.

Why are there so many Mexican restaurants in Bellingham and why do they all say they are the best? Hard to choose. The first place we went had good reviews but they were so trashy and rude and wasn't worth the trouble. The next place we tried was 21 and up but he was so nice to recommend this place. I was worried because it was so close to closing time and we walked from the previous place to avoid parking again. I have some medical issues that made the short walk take me out. We get there with 20 mins left until close. I see a seemingly swamped waitress and look at her apologetically but she welcomed us to sit and put menus in front of us. She hustled around to other tables and took our order quickly. The ambiance is nice. There's a small bar by the register. The food shows up after a brief wait and it looks super appetizing to the eyes. My burrito takes up the entirety of the large oval plate. My kid exclaimed, "that who thing is a burrito?!" He loves enchiladas and it's plated neatly with rice and beans. My daughter ordered carne asada only ever getting it from our favorite hometown restaurant nearly every other Sunday, so they got some high expectations to meet. Her carne asada comes with an enchilada which for us is a fail safe in case the carne asada turns out to be too different from our norm. To her delight, it was incredibly similar to what we would normally get in taste and presentation. There was so much food. Feeling bad for coming late, I tried to eat quickly and asked for boxes. There were two other tables that arrived before us just hanging out talking. I was acutely aware of the time having worked as a waitress several times in the past but she didn't close the doors until close time. After close, a woman arrived at one of the doors and the waitress let her in and fed her. It was so nice to be see and for me, that deserves so much praise and restores faith in humanity especially after being treated like crap at another restaurant we chose not to eat at. I always choose to support places with good people. I go to pay trying to get out of hair. Despite appearing so busy, she was so friendly. I praised the service and food. She walked to our table as we were preparing to leave and she was engaged in conversation with the kids. My daughter was talking about dress shopping for a school dance. We mention how far from home we were and she mindfully pieces together it's a long drive home still, it's a school night, kids and self exhausted. She grabs a bag and gives us to go beverages. Honestly the kindness made me a bit emotional. The restaurant was past business hours and she had just sat someone and had yet to take her order and still made us feel welcome and not rushed. My kids were adamant we had to come back soon. Spend your money here. The food was fantastic. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Plentiful amounts will leave you satisfied both today and tomorrow. You don't have to question the cleanliness of this place like some of the hole in the wall places we've seen. Choose this one!

The service was 3 stars for us--pleasant but absent minded and inconsistent. Ambience was fine--lots of windows and light, clean, and comfy seating. They were out of the beer and wine we wanted, but the house margarita was a good stand in. It was an early dinner on a Friday night. I understand why a few reviewers commented on the noise level. It was fine with only 3 tables full, but it was getting loud as we wrapped up our time and the restaurant started to fill with the dinner crowd. We'll be back for more.

The restaurant seemed to be a house, with plenty of space. Bottled drinks and desserts are in the fridge cooler and to get them ourselves if we want that. I decided on the Mulitas instead of my usual enchilada plate. It's a smaller version with 3 mini size tortilla filled with meat of your choice. I had carnitas, beef and chicken. All were good. Served with beans and rice. My friend had the beef burrito and it was pretty big. She said it was tasty and very filling. It was literally the only meal she had for the day. It seemed to be a family run place and so service was a bit slow. We had to wait a while before someone came out to the counter for us to make payment. There was no bell to alert them.
