If you are looking for fresh authentic tacos, this is a great spot! The tacos al pastor are delicious, as are the house made horchata and other juice.

This place has delicious tacos! Definitley my favorite al pastor in denver! Their homemade salsas are delicious (the green is my fave). I also love the quesadillas with either asada meat or al pastor. It is a clean place and the food is made fresh and pretty quickly.

    Bad tacos.

These 12" tacos" were put together by me after Tacos Junior put a couple tortillas and random pieces of chicken, cucumber and lime?? It was horrific, I ordered TWELVE tacos and received 3. Will NOT be back. Horrible service and food. I am beyond disappointed.

Go to for tacos. Lengua and Tripa our go to, along with their delicious Horchata!!!!!! Period. Open late! Go and get some!

    Tacos Junior Signage 1280 S Sheridan Location ~ September 18th 2011

FINAL STOP aka The 4th Stop of Taco Rapture 2011. Sunday September 18th 2011. YES, this is indeed a MARATHON for TACO-GOODNESS. So, the rest of us, as the SURVIVORS for Taco Rapture 2011 came here. Time : 1410hrs Plenty of parking and seating area inside. This establishment seems empty. Is this a good sign or a bad sign? Perhaps it just the timing factor when I was there with the group. You order at the counter on the left wing of this establishment. They will call out your order. You can get your order at the right wing of this establishment. Since I am slightly stuffed from all the Tacos I had, I still opt for 2 Tacos, one, Taco Lengua ($1.65) and another Taco Tripas ($1.75). The service was prompt, efficent and fast since I got my Taco order less in 10 minutes after ordering. Yes the Tacos came out piping hot. I like the flavor but I dont like the sauce that they offer with it. Big Bummer. But I dont think I can give a fair judgement aka review coz I am already stuffed so I really really need to go back to this Taco Junior to give another chance and I hope my review might differ. Furthermore, they have some other dishes that I would like to try with Hubs. Not forgetting, the display of pastries, cakes galore that I SO wish I have that "extra" space in my stomach to devour them...

Very tasty, smaller-sized tacos perfect for a late night craving. Typical taqueria menu items.

Then there are rare places that quietly rearrange the furniture inside your head and leave you wondering why you settled for less. Alma Fonda Fina in Denver belongs to that last category. To eat here, though, you must survive an initiation of modern technology. Reservations appear online at exactly 8:00 AM Mountain Time, sixty days in advance. By 8:03 AM, the digital world has consumed all of the appealing slots and the prime hours vanish into the digital ether. Three of us sat at separate computers like desperate laboratory monkeys waiting for a light to flash. Only one emerged with a 7:30 PM slot, feeling less like booking dinner and more like receiving a personal dispensation from the universe. Arriving early, the staff didn't make us stand on the sidewalk like lost tourists. Instead, they invited us to sit outside with the cocktail menu, hospitality announcing you made it through the machine and can finally relax. Once the drinks arrived, the universe seemed reasonable. I ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, built with Milagro Reposado, Union Joven Mezcal, orange bitters, and hoja santa. The mezcal whispered stories through the smoke rather than screaming them in your face. Another 2 guests chose the Hibiscus Margarita, a combination of Milagro Blanco, lime, and deep hibiscus agave looking like a blood orange sunset and tasting like spring. Then there was the Avocado Margarita, ordered out of pure curiosity. One expects an avocado drink to be heavy, perhaps thick enough to patch drywall. Instead, this was weightless, silky, and impossibly cold, the house puree emulsified directly into Herradura Reposado, lime, and agave. It rendered expectations irrelevant, and after generously being offered a taste, I immediately resolved to order one later in the meal. Inside, Fiona introduced herself. Calling her our server is like calling Mozart some dude who played piano. She didn't merely bring plates, she choreographed our happiness. Under her guidance, the food arrived in a spectacular blur. The Guacamole Alma landed first, dusted with smoked salt, queso fresco, and chimichurri de hoja santa alongside brittle heirloom tostadas. Four adults, convinced they had eaten good guacamole before, realized they had been living a lie. Next came the Burrita de Frijoles Puercos, a sourdough tortilla wrapping rich chorizo rojo, queso fresco, and salsa de chile de árbol, which transformed humble beans into a lengthy, philosophical discussion. That was followed by Apache En Su Jugo, prime New York strip swimming in brilliant salsa verde with applewood bacon and confit onions. Every bite was perfectly balanced. Fiona wisely agreed with our order of two servings of Camote Asado, an agave roasted sweet potato with broken salsa macha and fennel whipped requesón. It is probably the finest thing that has ever happened to a root vegetable. We tasted the ocean with Callo de Hacha Al Horno, featuring tender Fall River scallops in sharp serrano ponzu, tomato butter, and chives, creating a sauce so delicious a tablemate literally drank it from the serving plate. The Tostada de Hamachi, pairing pristine fish with habanero mayo, cara cara orange, and Mayan pumpkin seed sikil pak balanced fat and acid with the precision of a Swiss watch. Even the deep fried Quesadilla Frita with rajas con crema and cotija proved elegance isn't abandoned in hot oil. We finished the savory gauntlet with the Taco Campechano, a flawless union of suadero beef and pork belly carnitas, and the Chilaquiles de Borrego with lamb neck barbacoa. Both were highly convincing arguments for the continued existence of the human race. Midway through, more drinks materialized. Two more Avocado Margaritas arrived alongside the Pineapple Sour, an absurd mix of Herradura Blanco, mezcal, pineapple, habanero, Fernet Vallet, and tepache oil. It was refreshing, smoky, and endlessly interesting. By the end, conversation degenerated into a chant of people insisting each plate was the best, concluding with a general admission that nobody knew how they pulled it off. Mercifully, there is no dessert here because we couldn't responsibly consume another molecule. People celebrate Alma Fonda Fina as one of the most affordable Michelin starred spots in America. To look at it that way is to view a miracle through an accounting ledger. The true value is emotional, found in the rare joy of watching talented people perform at the peak of their powers because they care. So yes, I recommend it. But set your alarm, have multiple people tapping keys or screens, and move quickly. Some tables on this fragile planet are worth fighting for. This one certainly is.

Our server was very knowledgeable without being too pushy or over explanatory. We tried the big eye tuna ceviche, the scallops and the classic braised lamb shank. We loved two of the three however the big eye tuna was a bit of a flavor bomb and the tuna did not stand out. There was way too much going on and we kind of just felt like it was a salty mess. Denver is lucky to have a culinary gem like this and we look forward to returning to try some of the new creations!

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar. The bartender was great and made a solid marg ($8 on happy hour). You get a great deal on taco Tuesday but I'm sure you'd get great service and quality any day of the week!

Server agreed to substitute shrimp for my enchiladas and they were good! Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Ordered tres leches cake and enjoyed it too.
