We wanted to really like this place based on all the great reviews. At the time of our lunch visit it was 4.4 stars. We didn't find anything that met that standard in our mind. In our opinion Coyote Table needs to decide if it's a Mexican Restaurant or Italian Restaurant. I had two street tacos that were ok and my wife had the meatball grinder that she thought was terrible. She also had a blue moon beer that was flat and on the warm side. We didn't have the pizza but watched it go by to other tables. It was a thin crust on the darker cooked side. More like a Mexican taco pizza than a NY style pizza. Although there was only one person serving the whole restaurant (bar and dining area), the service was good. It's been several years since I've retuned to Coyote Table. Met a friend here today for lunch. We shared their meatball appetizer - which was really tasty but the presentation caught me off guard. It was a tad spicy and with some flat bread. The "meatballs" were small little pancakes, flattened, maybe the size of your palm. Tasty but so odd. We ordered their 12" red sauce pizza, #5, otherwise known as Italian sausage, goat cheese and basil. Thin crust and a little skimpy on the sauce in some spots. It wasn't enough to deter me from enjoying a few slices, lol. Something was missing from the overall balance but I wasn't able to put my finger on it. My partner shared the same sentiments when he enjoyed a few slices I brought home. Still good, but missing a little something. Our waitress was a one woman show - serving everyone there: the bar, the tables and the gelato counter inside. She was great - friendly, mellow and just the right amount of attentive. I'm fairly certain my original review dropped a star for the for pricing. Same today. Lunch for two with a shared appetizer, a pizza and one glass of tea ran us right at $40. An amazing selection of Gelato that was unexpected. Went out for a bite to this fun place. I wasn't sure what I wanted and had a hard time making a decision. I went with the Italian grinder. I had a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around some of the things on it. Luckily, I was able to leave them off. I am not a Greek tapanad person and IMHO it should not be on an Italian sandwhich. Yes, I am a pain. It was served toasted and grilled, another thing I was not fully expecting but it was pretty good that way. One of the things I requested was mayo...a little cup of joy was brought with my sandwhich. We dipped chips in it, put it on my sandwhich and even just ate it with a fork. We couldn't figure out what is actually was but we knew 2 things..it was so good and it wasn't straight mayo. The server wasn't even sure what it was and they were pretty busy so we just enjoyed the mystery. The boyfriend even ordered some to dip his pizza crust in. When all was said and done we went to check out the Gelato and the wonderful woman who owns the place told us it was her own spicy mayo. We were graced with another small portion to go and let her know we would be back for more. Now on to the gelato...omg! After tasting a few I opted for the Banana Walnut. It was really good and so much Banana flavor. I had a hard time deciding so darn...I'll just have to go back for more. A large bar, plenty of tables and a very relaxed vibe. There is a reason why the tables are full here! We received amazing service from the owner - who was so sweet and working her tail off! The food was SO good. We tried the Brussels sprouts and garlic fries. Both fantastic 10/10. Then we had a pizza that had ricotta on it!? Delicious! Lastly, we ended the meal with gelato - to die for. Excellent food and service is usually good unless they get busy. Our favorite pizza is #2 and also the white sauce pizza with the artichoke and sausage is super good The only downside I feel like are their cocktails. They need a good bartender and this place can be so fire. But every time I've gotten the margarita, I have to send it back because is taste like juice. Every time I come to Denver I make a point to visit Coyote Table and it's always one of the highlights of my trip. The food has always been outstanding and the gelato is insanely good. It's my own fault for repeat ordering at this point, but it's the only open spot (other than Starbucks) on my way to the highway in the early mornings. Waited 15 minutes before taking our order - they served tables that came after us. Food came before our drinks. Didn't bring us plates or silverware with food. Off night for sure which sucks because I had great experiences before. Experience made me feel like they didn't care about their customers, just what was convenient to them. The food was scratch-made. The grilled chicken taco was very good after we picked out the purple onions from the purple cabbage...the onions were not listed on the menu. The whitesause was flavorless and in great need of garlic and Parmesan and maybe salt...on the chicken and mushrooms that I added to top the pasta. The meat lovers pizza was delicious, but the meatball slices overwhelmed the dish and the thin crust because they were cut too thickly into very large chunks, yummy chunks that needed more sauce than was available on the slice. Maybe crumble them or dice them into cubic centimeter chunks.... The ricotta stuffed mozzarella appetizer sounded amazing on the menu, but lacked flavor on execution. The balsamic vinegar was only a whisper of flavor in the dish that included a garlic-free and Parmesan-free and pinenut-free pesto; it was green but did not even taste like basil. The roasted garlic on the crusts was only a background note that blossomed later as an aftertaste then the appetizer was finished. The cherry tomatoes and flour crusts were the only parts of the dish carrying any flavor with the whisper of the balsamic. There was so much promise on the menu, here's hoping for a better delivery on that promise. Interestingly, it was a bar where children were allowed to literally run around the establishment, back and forth, back and forth, so a win-win for parents with children that they would like to drink to forget/take the edge off/forget.... Perhaps better done with a flask at McDonald's Playland, but maybe this was a normal Sunday afternoon at Coyote. read more

What an incredible and amazing find. The locals have been hiding this place from the rest of us. I was next door at Fox Hollow Animal Hospital with my pet and was going to be there for a while. I opted to walk to the gas station across the street for a burrito or something when I noticed this restaurant. I had no idea what it was or what it was about but walked in to check it out. I was immediately greeted by a pleasant woman tending the bar area who gave me a glass of a water and a menu. The food choices were incredible and I opted for an Italian Grinder for the road, two shrimp tacos and one mushroom taco. The meals were prepared fresh and I watched the woman making them as the kitchen is wide open. I really enjoyed watching them being made. The grinder was likely the best Italian sandwich I've had in years and the shrimp tacos were to die for. This is a first rate new find and I will be returning to try their pizzas as that seems to be their real speciality. The entire place was clean, nicely decorated and had plenty of close in parking. We live in the neighborhood and have eaten here a handful of times. Last night we planned to meet friends to plan an upcoming trip. We arrived about 6pm, ordered salads and pizza. The food was good as usual. After our table was cleared and the bill was paid ($94 with tip), we wanted to finish our planning. A lady came by (our friends said it was the owner) and rudely told us they had people waiting for a table and could we hurry it along - not even a "please." We had been seated less than 1 hour and spent almost $25 per person for pizza and salad. I don't often write bad reviews but this was a terrible experience. We will not be back. Too bad the owner decided an extra 15 minutes was worth losing a nearby customer forever. read more

For real.. this place is a GEM! We called to order pickup food for the VRBO condo that my wife and I were staying in for Broncs - Giants game (Go BRONCS!!! and F Big Blue - my wife's team). We were in from PA and I wanted to try some great food. COYOTES WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!!! .. the pizza was superb, the bison raviolis blew me away (we have a bison farm that we frequent 'back home'), and I am pretty sure that my wife was close to the BIG O from the Cavatappi with white sauce plus portabella. She told me that she is taking the leftovers to the tailgate tomorrow! LOL .. the energy and level of service was phenomenal, as well as their ability to make a customer HAPPY! When I walked in, they hadn't made my wife's dinner. I asked them to "take their time and do it right," and the dynamo at the register sent me to the bar to grab an IPA - that they picked up. In a day of everyone being overly critical, I am happy to write this post and recommend Coyote Table! read more

Really, really good pizza! If you are into thin crust and a wide assortment of different pizza offerings then this is your place. We got Pizza #5, red sauce, sausage and goat cheese. We also shared the Fried bison ravioli. Everything was delicious. Lots of artisan cocktails which look and sound amazing but we were in a beer mood and got a couple Lush puppy drafts, perfect summer IPA with orange peel. Relaxed atmosphere with music and TVs. Since it changed a few years back, we hadn't tried it yet, so tonight we decided to give it a try. We did take out. Picture is Pizza 5 and wow, it was so far our favorite. We also got Pizza 1 Margareta, which was also really good. She wanted me to try the 3 chili soup and gave me a cup to take home. Wow, it was really, really good. We were looking for a new place to try, and found this place, in Lakewood. SO glad that we did! The vibe is clean, modern, and fun. Music was Rolling Stones. Service was friendly and capable. We had table service, but when they're really slammed, you order and pay at the bar. The food was awesomely flavorful! The menu is VERY small. I like that. I'd rather that chefs focus on a few things done exceedingly well, than a lot of things done passably. Coyote Table did not disappoint!! There were two salads available, strawberry peach and lemon Caesar. We opted for a half portion of each, and added chicken to the Caesar. The strawberry peach was delicious, lightly coated in vinaigrette. The lemon Caesar has a VERY strong anchovy taste, because they use actual anchovies. The chicken was nicely seasoned and quite good. The Villy Philly (named after Vilma, the chef) packs some heat! It was delicious. We ordered it without spinach, because yuck. (This dates from my childhood. Not a reflection on Vilma!) We had a half cheese, half #2 pizza. REALLY GOOD. Sauce is wonderful. The crust is light rather than chewy. Vilma generously gave us samples of several flavors of gelato and sorbet. All were good! However, there was very little left of several flavors. Vilma makes it in-house. We really liked Coyote Table. We'll be back! Vilma says that ramen and stews are coming :) read more

Solid pizza spot in the burbs of Lakewood. We decided to meet some friends here as kind of a middle ground since we all live in different spots of the metro. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a fun pizza shop vibe. My husband and I split the Meat Lovers Pizza and spicy fried brussel sprouts. I was envisioning deep fried by the way they were described on the menu and was like huh never seen that before. Well they aren't deep fried but just fried in a pan like a lot of places are doing these days. Still super good but just not what I was thinking I was ordering. We are new transplants from New York. We went here on Friday night early. They were already busy. The place was busy with families. A lot of young people. Very eclectic decor. Also slightly industrial vibe. Hanging LED lights over the bar. A lot of large, black and white prints on the walls. Very bright in a quiet small strip mall. We sat at the bar, ordered drinks and food at the same time. They were admittedly, understaffed. Seemed like they didn't expect the crowd that they had. Beer was good, then came the wait for the food. It was a long wait. And when the bartender asked if I wanted another beer, I said I want my food. So she went back in the kitchen to check. We were getting slightly impatient because people around us that came after us had already gotten their food. Maybe from overhearing what we were going through, the couple that sat down next to us decided to get up and leave. The bartender/ waitress came back out to tell us that there was a mix up with our order and they were expediting it and it should be here in a few minutes. The owner came over and apologized. Also asking what he could do to make us happy. We told him we weren't unhappy just hungry. We told him we understood. The bartender brought out our food pretty quickly after that. We ordered a 12-in prosciutto pizza and a pasta dish they called Rosa which had a sauce that was a mix of marinara and garlic sauce that made it lighter than usual with a little bite. The food was outrageous. So worth the wait. I make my own pizza at home but I don't have my oven right now. That's the only reason I ordered pizza out. But they hit it out of the park. The pizza was thin. Crust cooked perfectly and I could not stop eating the pasta. The owner offered to take 50% off our bill which I rejected. He did buy us a beer and we vowed that we would come back. I did not take pictures as we were pretty hungry. But I will next time and update this review. Highly recommend. read more

Took me awhile to make this review, I debated but while visiting this restaurant back on February 22nd, the owner Vilma treated this young brown woman so bad that night. She had a party of at least 10 people. First the server yells at her across the room to ask what she needed, the server tells her she doesn't have room for her party. Then owner comes out aggressively and tells her she won't be seated until her whole party is here. I'm not sure what else was said but her demeanor was not nice towards this lady. That was my second time being there and I could not believe the way they were treated. Food is amazing but sadly the fear of ever getting treated that way, I will not be eating here. Customer service is so important whether you're having a bad day or not. Whether you are privileged and own the place. I truly hope she doesn't treat her young employees or anyone else that way. read more
