Recommend by a friend. The carnita burrito was excellent. My combo of chile relleno was very good, the beef in the burrito was well seasoned. The only reason for the four rating was that the cheese enchilada was not as good as the other items, but still a tasty item. The service was great. I was a loyal customer for decades! Then I asked for a to go cup for my tea just one time and they said sure for $5. If that is how loyalty is rewarded, I want no part of it. I won't be back. 25 cents for a cup cost you many mucho dollars in future business! read more

I have been to this restaurant so many times in the past and was excited to stop in. Small house margarita reasonably priced, nothing to ride home about, but does the job. The restaurant wasn't busy yet :4:15 pm), after the margarita is when it went downhill. The salsa that I was served was rancid. It tasted like metal and smelled foul. I ended up with stomach issues. When I placed my order, I specifically asked for all green chili, and when I received my order, it was lukewarm at best and I pointed out to the waitstaff that the enchilada was covered in red sauce - not green ... all I got was "I'm so sorry". No offer to correct my order or give me something different. I canceled the rest of my to go order. Very disappointed in the restaurant. Not sure I will be back. My five dollar happy hour margarita turned into a $25 mishap. read more

I went to dinner there tonight with some friends. This place is really busy and it became clear why it's so busy. The food is extremely good and the service is friendly and fast. The building is clean, well decorated and feels friendly and welcoming. The menu is extensive and includes some great seafood choices such as shrimp and cat fish. Our waitress, Nieves, was fast and very good at her job. Our bill was extremely reasonable at 90 dollars for four people and couple of drinks. The margaritas are absolutely amazing. I suspect this place is family owned and it's definitely run that way. I will surely enjoy dinner here again soon. read more

Oh man, I've been craving Torres ever since I ate it last! It was my first time there and it really was one of the better Mexican food experiences I've had in awhile. I totally want to go back soon! The Chile relleños were seriously delicious and just made my mouth water a bit thinking about them :) We had an excellent queso fundido too so yes all around great food! Service was friendly and fairly quick. I love it inside too, it's not fancy but it's also a nice little spot and yay it has parking which is tougher and tougher to find in Denver these days. This is my go to lunch place. I never knew it existed until a few months ago. Now I can't live without it. The green chile is sublime and highly addictive. The menu is huge and you cannot go wrong with any order. They are busy-always. Be patient and kind to your server, the food is worth any inconvenience you may experience. My go to is the crispy chile rellenos. I actually dream about them in real life. It's not too expensive and I try to go weekly to get my green chile fix on. read more

I am brand new to Denver, (from So Cal) - and there is an adage that So Cal has the best Mexican food that you can find anywhere (including Mexico) - so I had lower expectations for this restaurant. My profuse apologies Torres! First, someone complained here in the Yelp reviews that you have to pay for chips and salsa. Not true. Again, I had no expectations. I sat the bar, and they brought me... chips and salsa. I didn't ask, and was not expecting. But then I dipped the chip into the salsa and knew I had done them wrong not expecting much. I truly feel I can tell if a Mexican restaurant is going to be good or not by their salsa. And this salsa was amazing!! It was also way spicier than I expected it to be - in a truly delightful way. As I said, I was sitting at the bar and the bartender was suuuuper friendly and kind. (Although honestly I am finding peeps here to be way more friendly anyway). She made me a decent margarita (ex-bartender here so I might be a tad picky about my maggies). I ordered the chicken fajita plate - and let me tell you, lots of food (it ended up being left overs for 2 more little meals) - and the price was perfect! Really good, friendly service and delicious food at a reasonable price. I have been back once more, and it was still good. A+ for consistency! I'll probably be a regular. read more

I used to come here when I was a kid with my family. Haven't been here in a while sorry to say I will never be back they charged for chips and 2$ for extra lemon they over charged for everything!the service was so bad we had to keep asking for things then they forgot my husbands food altogether. I've visit Torres' when I come up to Denver. Today we stopped in, hadn't been here in a few years and it was terrible. The service was awful we sat and waited over 30 minutes to be waited on. Once we ordered we waited another 30 minutes for lukewarm food, so obviously it was sitting in a window waiting for someone to pick it up. I tried the Posole, it was bland and flavorless the chicken in the enchiladas was dry and the steak in the carbon tacos was over cooked. This used to a great place for Mexican food maybe we hit them on a bad day, but $75 for lunch it was a poor choice for us. I recommend you passing on this restaurant. read more

This place was divine!! Best Mexican food I have had in Denver!! The restaurant is clean and inviting, and way bigger than it looks from the outside! Our waitress was awesome! Our group tried the chicken quesadilla, cheese enchiladas, carne asada burrito, Chile relleno, and chicken nachos! All were amazing!! Sour cream and guacamole we're both delicious! Very reasonably priced. Give this place a try!! Your family will love it!! Oh and one more thing- the food came out lightening quick, so it would work for a lunch hour as well! I went to this restaurant last night at 7:30pm ordered two drinks and two shots along with an appetizer, told the waiter we weren't ready to eat and just wanted to enjoy our drinks. The restaurant closes at 9pm it's 8:10 and I was finally ready to order, the waitress too our order and left. Three minutes later a "manager" by the name of Jayee came over and said sorry we closed our kitchen at 8pm so we cant make you guys any food. I was extremely upset, thinking well I just spent a little under a hour here and why didn't anyone let us know the kitchen closes at 8 in case we wanted to order. When going to the register I told the manager Jaylee how upset I was and her responses was well the sign on the door says it closes at 8. I didn't even notice the handwritten sign on the door and it wasn't very noticeable at that. I explained how now I was going to have to order food else were and I feel as I should be compensated for the inconvenience. She turned around and said "If you're broke then just say that" I thought how professional and came back with "you have a smart ass mouth and I will be that then" and walked out! If this is the type of language you allow your "managers" to use towards costumes then I will never return. read more

Decor-wise, Torres is definitely nicer than most of the hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints further north on Fed. The staff was very friendly, wore cute (if somewhat dated) tuxedo-style shirts and bowties, and there were absolutely no language/communication problems. As Brian G. said, their extensive menu offers both traditional fare, plus all the usual Tex-Mex favorites. Lots of seafood too. Their complementary salsa was great - a little watery but chunky and cilantro-laden. Chips were blah as usual. For entrees, I chose the Carne Asada ($12.90) which turned out to be a bit disappointing. The steak was lean, tender and nicely chargrilled, but was smaller than the palm of my hand, and *maybe* 3/8'' thick. The accompanying guac, pico de gallo, rice and refried beans were really stingy - I could easily have rolled up everything in one of the two flour tortillas that came with the meal. The roasted jalapeno pepper was way too spicy for me, but he said it was great. He chose the Filet Rancho ($13.50) which was catfish smothered in Ranchero sauce, jalapenos and onions, with rice, refried beans, and two corn tortillas. He enjoyed it well enough but, again, thought they could have been more generous with the fixings. I'm no flan expert, but I REALLY liked the flan at Torres ($3.95) - thick, creamy, smooth, and not overly-sweet. It really hit the spot. It definitely made up for the two crappy peach margaritas I had ($4.25 each, and absolutely zero buzz. Booo....) Torres is absolutely A-Ok, but there is better! read more

I understand the financial struggle restaurants had to endure due to the Pandemic. I dined at Torres last night and I would have to say the quality suffered greatly. The price increased drastically. The beans were so watered down that you could pour them. The cheese was non existent. Save your money and go to Taco Bell where you get what you pay for. read more
