The guacamole contained solid chunks of avocado that in no way were bite size combined with a tomatoe cut in thirds. The killer was a lack of salt on the dish leading to a l plain green chunky paste devoid of flavor. While the chips were quite good this was not nearly enough to overcome a flavorless guacamole. Up next came 3 Birria tacos, each with half a pound of meat. While you think this would translate to a rich seasoned taco bite. This was clearly not the case as the meat was as dry as a housewife in the 1920s. Even after drenching the tacos in the broth it felt more similar to a taco placed in a dishwasher than an adobo marinated taco. Now the not so positive ... I ordered a chicken taco with corn tortillas. Tortillas were COLD which meant it tasted like cardboard and crumbled in my mouth. We stopped in while in town with our little ones. The tacos here are fantastic! I ordered the grouper tacos and my husband ordered the pork belly. They were so good (our kids actually ate them!) we ordered an additional order of birria tacos and of course, they were amazing as well. The service was great and she held her own even though the place was packed. The atmosphere and decor was edgy and insta worthy. 10/10 don't reccomend the street corn as it tasted like canned corn and had a lot of the liquid from the can in it creating a street corn soup - but the tacos and service were so great, it doesn't affect our review. read more

Truly a downtown gem! Grace St is an often (and unjustly) ignored area in historic downtown Wilmington. The area between Front and Grace Sts has fun shops and restaurants and is off the beaten path, so to speak. Hubby and I have been "testing" the takeout selections at various downtown restaurants and noticed this small business on our last walk about. Despite a few negative reviews (really?) here, we jumped in and ordered several dishes to try. Note: the tacos are 2 of the same when ordered. If you want a selection, then plan on sharing! We tried the grouper, short rib, beef/chorizo and chicken tacos, all with corn tortillas. All were good but my personal favorite was the grouper--Delish! Delicately seasoned and not heavily breaded allowing the filet to shine. Also tried the Quesidilla (beef/chorizo) and wings (he's my wing man as I am not particularly fond of wings--don't judge me!). Both excellent! Definitely will order from here again. I did not accompany hubby for the takeout pickup but he states there is a small seating area. Maybe after COVID. The impossible meat burrito would fool any meat lover - my husband ordered another one to-go for the next day, and the jackfruit taco with mango salsa & cilantro creama was sweet, spicy, salty & creamy. I personally love mezcal and love that they have so many options to try, that's not easy to find at the usual bars/restaurants.
