[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Smith and his staff are the best around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our little Yoda was rushed to another facility ER Hospital after hours and we had a horrible experience. After a very long night of a kitty who was uncomfortable and crying. I called The Tacoma Cat Hospital, they got Yoda in immediately and put him on an IV, meds and by the end of the day he was a new cat. Revived and slowly coming back to his normal self. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am so GRATEFUL for the ladies here and Dr. Smith for all they have done for our family over the years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They all truly care, and you can see it the moment you step foot in the office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They take the time to explain things to you and help you through tough processes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You would be hard pressed in finding such care elsewhere. They have an awesome boarding facility too. One on one touch and play time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My kitties love coming here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yoda and KiKi thank you Dr. Smith and your Amazing Team for all that you do in the community!!!

I called in before going to see if i could take my new cat in for a worm treatment/ flea treatment or if i could just stop by and pick it up. I went to another place where they wouldnt give me a prescription for the medicine unless i brought the cat in. But this place let me pick it up. The lady at the desk was very helpful and friendly She explained how to apply everything and exactly how to measure a dose and what to do. It was around $45 for a topical worm and a topical flea prescription. Will be returning for all my cats future medical needs

Since the mid '90's, Dr. Smith and his staff have seen me through everything from having to say goodbye to cherished friends to raising an abandoned day-old kitten who grew into an amazing cat devoted to my 90+ year old mother. Through good times and bad, TCH has seen me through with honesty, compassion, and affordability. They offer honest alternatives and don't try to pad the bill. No offence to dogs, but I appreciate it being exclusively a cat clinic. Not having to sit next to a nervous dog with a nervous cat is a real plus. Over the years, I doubt there is little they've not seen. Once Dr. Smith came in to the exam room to find my huge black cat, Cosimo de 'Meowdici, literally sitting on my head. Nonplused, he said, "Well, I haven't seen that one in a while." Many years later, when I brought in a trio of classic tuxedo babies, the staff treated them like rock stars making sure everyone got to see them. (I kept the boy and a friend took the sisters.) Tacoma Cat Hospital works with the Tacoma Humane Society as well as other cat rescue and fostering groups. They truly care about cats and "cat people" so please read negative comments with compassion. They were likely in emotional pain and distress when they wrote it. In closing, I mean it when I say, I wouldn't take Baron Maximillian von Schloss, Lady Fiona Andertail, and Lord Lawrence Longtail anywhere else.

Upon check in the registration asks if we would consent for pain management and possible fluid administration totaling $600-800 prior to seeing the physician. We consented because we knew he was in severe pain and had not had fluids in a day. To my shock and deep frustration we waited 2.5 hours before finding out they had not initiated any treatment and were waiting to receive payment before treatment. I had thought they would make him comfortable while awaiting test results and further consent. I expressed my disappointment in their lack of treatment and how I had expected them to at least make him comfortable while he waited for a thorough exam. Upon voicing my frustration the physician abruptly left our exam room and we never were able to speak to her again except through the front desk worker as an in between. Would a hospital make your loved one wait for payment before starting treatment? I will never bring a pet back to this location and I will be sure to spread the word about their lack of professionalism, inability to triage, inability to be an adult and speak directly, and lack of a standard of care. This facility may look nice and state they have multiple providers on scene, but they lack the ability to follow through when it matters.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish…read more My dog Goose had abdominal surgery to remove a mass, and everything went smoothly--the surgery, the recovery, and the overall care were outstanding. Then, of course, life happened: Goose accidentally opened his stitches at home. I called the clinic in a panic, and they calmly asked if I could be there in 30 minutes. When I arrived, they took him back immediately, clearly explained exactly what they were going to do, fixed him right up, and had us on our way in no time. The caring manner and gentle nature of the entire staff meant more to me than I can say. I'm a high-anxiety person, and Goose is too but he was completely at ease the whole time. He didn't even need sedation. The tech told me he did amazing, and I could genuinely tell how comfortable he was with everyone, which says everything about the kind of people they are. Dr. Brar is an incredible veterinarian, and it's so clear that this team truly cares about their patients. I am beyond grateful and very happy to be part of the WellCare family. On June 14/2026, we got a call from our dog sitter informing us that our dog got a small puncture on the side of her body (maybe from a protruding small branch on a bush on the sitter's back yard) so the dog sitter took her to this place., Button Vet. Hospital on Durango street, South Tacoma Way. The bill was $371.18 for the following: Outpatient exam: $130.00 Outpatient procedure: $51.00 (from shaving the fur around the puncture wound which was less than half an inch in diameter) Pharmacy: $129.00 (antibiotics, two different kind of pain pills?, crazy!) Service fee (for what?): $60.00 Total $371.81. Insane! This is a rip off! I wish our sitter did not take her to this place. It is not an emergency. She got a small puncture and it did not seem to bother her. I think antibiotic would be sufficient if that. Our dog still runs around, plays on the dog park this morning, and still eats normally. I enclosed the picture of the punctured wound. Beware! This place will milk you dry!
