We come from out of state and where we live we have nothing like this! We came on a cold rainy day and the service was super fast! The cashier answered all of our questions with a smile. I got the combo #7 with Al pastor meat and my husband got 2 "gringas" with trompo meat. We both thought our food was DELICIOUS!!! The flour tortilla was super soft and held up well. I was a big fan of the salads verde as it had such great flavor! We will recommend this place to anyone we know heading to Houston. read more

OMG. Was told about this place one night after my grandmother funeral services in February, and have been going back like an addiction. I always get the number 8, which is the quesadillas. Absolutely love this place!! My husband took us as they to every lunch break while at work. The tacos were fresh, the people were nice and their quesadillas were perfect!! The beans were amazing and I put the droppings from my tacos with lime and green sauce in the beans and it was . We got the lemonade which tasted fresh! We will definitely be back! Ordered the chicken quesadillas. Chicken had good flavor but otherwise the quesadillas was very plain with minimal cheese folded in an oily flour tortilla and small. My husband ordered 3 tacos and his had more toppings but also small. For our two orders it took 30 minutes to get our food. I know food trucks can be slower, but 30 min seemed extra long. I didn't get to try the rice and beans so can't speak on those items. The truck is green and easy to find with good menu signs. Funny, their truck even has a drive thru! read more

There are many things in this world that stay consistent throughout your life: Traffic on I-45 at 5:00 PM, How often a Houston sports team will win a national championship (not including soccer) and how long you have to wait in line at a good taco stand. Taconmadre is a place, throughout the years, that has become a food staple in Denver Harbor. I remember coming here, after the late nights at the nightclub down the street, and gorging on tacos, quesadillas and salsa. Needless to say, in my early 20's, this was the place to end the night, or begin it. Depended on the night all my girlfriends were having. Going there now, during a lunch break at one of our plant facilities, I reminisce of what the 20-year old me would eat from here. Definitely get the torta and tacos. Need lots of hot sauce. Now, 30-something year old me says... Tacos, tacos, tacos. Yes, there will be a line to order your food. Hit it before the lunch hour or after. Yes, they have breakfast tacos and they are fabulous. I recommend trying something different each time. The reviews here really do not do the entire menu justice. You have to try to find out if it's something you will like or not. All I can say is be prepared to wait to order and wait to get your food. Tipping is not required, but appreciated for the cooks and staff working in that (very hot) truck. I was introduced to this place by my cousin who frequently visits this place and he suggested that I try the Super Burrito and it feels like it weighs about half a pound but it tasted good. I have no idea what Taconmadre means but it looks like some kind of fusion of Taco and a yo mama joke. Like... yo mama so nosy, she jalapeno business. or Yo mama so stingy she take away your allowance like "that's nacho cheese!" I'm persuaded by food lists. I admit it. I've seen the infamous "green truck" and "OG of food trucks" on several foodie lists and made a mental note to look it up. My coworkers love this truck and asked if we wanted to get tacos one day. I wasn't so sure until they showed me the menu/picture of THE GREEN TRUCK so I was glad to finally get to try it. I'm obsessed with their al pastro, barbocoa and bistek tacos. Their quesadilla is a good alternative especially when you've gone there twice in a week already and really shouldn't eat another taco. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything. I love that they have horchata (although it's a bit grainy) it's still good and washes down those tacos really well. Ok if you want greasy tacos after hours, service always sucks, and you'll most likely get over charged. Menu stated 3 quesadillas for $6.00 but got charged $7.50, when confronted they'll say its taxes but receipt don't show taxes being charged. Kind of shady, been a constant occurrence. Lengua on taco was not usual texture/flavor and although color was typical of lengua, texture was more like browned ground beef in a skillet and there was barely any flavor. Burritos are a great size for a meal for one or two...tacos are small enough for a snack and are very tasty! Online references for ordering, 2 different phone lines to call in orders, and a drive thru for convenience, just don't place a large order in the drive thru. Beans are spicy (a la charra), but extraordinarily tasty and would be a meal by themselves if ordered by the bowl! Green and red Chile are awesome mixes for any order! Highly recommend! read more

The barbacoa tacos here are so juicy and flavorful. Definitely recommend getting those! The fajita taco was almost minced, so not as nice as the places that give you nice fajita meat. Great find! At a training and needed food. This taco truck offer combos! The combos come with either rice and choice of beans or fries. I ordered 2 flour tortilla quesadillas. One fajita and one trompo. Fajita was better than the trompo. My side was fries. They are t bad at all. I got a all natural lemonade as my drink choice. First, we called in an order fifteen minutes before we showed up, and when we got there we waited another 20 or so minutes for our food to come out. When it finally did, our order was not only completely incorrect, but cold. How do you mess up bean and cheese tacos? The horchata is awful. And secondly, we asked for their nachos especiales- only to find out it's a box of TOSTITOS with a squirt of cold liquid cheese and watery beans. No wonder they don't advertise them with pictures. Went this first day and it was okay. Went today and idk what happened but it was bad. I ordered 3 fajita tacos w/ beans and cheese. Fajita was dry, over cooked badly. The taco itself had little to NO fajita, and they slapped a whole price of f****** cheese in the tacos. Not shredded cheese, straight slice of cheese. Not even fully melted!!! I like the food, but lately they have been getting my order wrong not once not twice not three but FOUR TIMES!!!!! I place my order over the phone all the time because I don't like to wait, but apparently the lady that takes the order can't tell her left hand from her right OMG like really?!?!?! Then when you go pick up the order and you tell her your name they still get your order wrong and she's very rude, she doesn't admit she made a mistake on the order you have to pay for everything all over again and go to the next window and wait AGAIN! 5 stars for this taco truck!! My sister in law recommended this spot, she's a regular customer and after giving it a try i will be too! They have many options to choose from Tacos, Tortas, Gorditas, cheesy fries, Nachos etc. I ordered fajita tacos with flour tortilla, cheese and avocado. They are so delicious! They remind me of El Jalapeño taco truck in South Houston(which is my absolute favorite) and this place is much closer to me so i think i found my new spot when i'm craving tacos! And for those of you who love that green extra extra hot sauce for tacos they have it here! I would definitely recommend to anyone, so give this place a try. Oh and they come with a side of small charro beans which is a big plus!!!
