I have a big weakness for trompo! As in drive an hour to check out a place someone somewhere has recommended. Cool little place that's not a truck(my usual thing for tacos). It's clean. Staff was very friendly and quick. I think they dip the corn tortillas into grease to soften them and that makes it a little too greasy for me. Other than that the tacos were outstanding! That close shave right off the rotisserie is the best. It was lunch and we still got chips/salsa for a snack. Most places don't do that during lunch. Maybe because I'm a gringo they brought the mild sauce to the table? I like the hot, spicy, green sauce. There's had great flavor but no kick. Next trip I'll ask for fuego! One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to! My gripe is it's so far, which could be a good thing cause I'd be here a couple times a month. It used to be an old Sonic & they kept the drive ups as parking spots & decorate the exterior with beautiful murals representing Houston. You know a place is good if their chips & salsa is bomb. The GREEN SALSA packs some heat! I can handle some spice but that it had my mouth burning. The HORCHATA helped soothe the fire. Super cinnamony & sweet. I ordered the ORDEN DE TACOS (5) with 2 TROMPO & 3 BISTEC. The onions & cilantro comes on the side along with GRILLED ONIONS & a surprise potato chunk. The QUESABIRRIA TACOS (3) also outstanding. The consume was well seasoned & had all the fixing. The portions here are generous. We left full & had leftovers to enjoy the next day. The service was prompt & everyone was nice. When I asked for water they did bring a bottle so I'm not sure if they serve tap. I will make the trek across town to be back! read more

The food was good, however when we initially walked in, no one wanting to serve us. I'd hate to think it was because of our skin tone and we spoke English, but that's what it seemed like. One guy finally came over and we managed to get through our order. The waiter did his best. Our till came out to over $100 and we gave him a really good tip;however, when we were leaving, no thank you no nothing. They all including the waiter we gave a tip to, just looked at us until we left. The customer service staff if very rude. We can use our money at other businesses that sell Mexican food. I would say in my opinion they are racist if you don't speak the language. read more

Food was amazing no complaints. But the service was horrible. The waiter got our order wrong and then blamed us for not ordering it right. Then on top of that didn't let us change it because he said he would have to charge us extra for that. If I were to try this food again I'd have to go to a different location because all the servers there are rude. Need to hire better people or train them to show more hospitality. Service was prompt and courteous, the odd thing was that we asked for a small glass of water for our 8 month old and the my said we don't have water we only have water bottles, so like they make money off of every little thing. That was a bit weird but I guess it is what it is. The place is nice, clean and well organized, the food is definitely a 5 I had the pozole, my wife had the baked potato with bistec it was a lot... she saved it for lunch next day and was delicious. The pozole was good just wish they would cut up the radish in smaller pieces not big round slices. I think going a little extra on customer service would go a long way. read more
