Tacos come in two types of tortilla - soft flour or puffy fried flour. The (corn) chips were hot, fresh, salty, perfect. We tried the salsa, guac, and queso dips and all were great (altho we were partial to the cheese dip - wow). How good is Tacos4Life? So good there was no time to take "before" pictures. We spend the same amount at T Bell for less food and WAY less quality. I ordered from the app on the way there from work and it was ready when we arrived. And they brought it out to the car. Talk about a lifesaver. My Marine has a hollow leg, so we order one of everything. Their good quality ingredients don't leave me with Taco Baby Belly Syndrome either. It's a real condition. They do use fresh cilantro in case anyone reading this thinks it tastes like soap. Everything is made fresh, so plan on spending a little longer in the drive thru. Fresh is worth it. Don't wait. The place was absolutely hopping. For a Monday night, it was so busy and I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The first thing I tasted was their paradise punch and it was very yummy. Then I tasted my shrimp taco which had fried shrimp, lettuce, coconut and a little slaw on it. It was positively delicious. Everyone at the table who got the shrimp taco loved itm And the Tilapia tacos seemed a good choice too. The Korean bbq taco was my daughter's favorite. And the chipotle steak wasn't bad. The corn side is a good choice but I'd you get the tortilla soup you may want to get the tortilla strips and cheese on the side to keep them crisp and stop the cheese from melting into a big glob. The one thing we hated was the chicken bacon ranch taco. Possibly a taste thing, but it just wasn't a favorite with any of the five people who ordered it at my table Overall I give this restaurant two thumbs up one for their good food and one for feeding hungry children. Tacos with a purpose, who can say no. Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed!! 2 days after Thanksgiving, so I'm assuming everyone has had their fill of leftovers already. LOL. They had 3 registers going, so the line went at a pretty good pace. I went for the Fajita Chicken taco, Chicken Bacon Ranch taco and the Classic Beef for good measure and a soda. Total was a little over $16 which is pretty expensive for Tacos, but since there's a purpose, I can run with it. My Pepsi wasn't good, I think the machine was out, so with the crowd, it took a bit for someone to be available to fix that. The 2 Chicken Tacos were great, could have been a bit warmer, but the flavors were there. I really liked the fact that there's a whole strip of bacon on the Chicken bacon ranch taco, thanks for that! Would order these again. The Classic Beef, nothing stellar here, but I had to try it just because it's what you know. Could have had a bit more seasoning on the Beef to give it a more mexi taste. I had the 2 Taco "Dip & Dine" ($9.99, no drink), with Classic Beef and Korean BBQ Steak tacos. You can have queso blanco, salsa, or guacamole with your chips. I chose queso blanco. They brought that out first. Their tortilla chips were pretty good. Warm and dusted with some orange/brown seasoning. Queso was an 8/10. Then came the tacos. Heaping high with fresh ingredients. Colorful, too! The meat was hot on both tacos, and not greasy. That's key! The lettuce and tomatoes, slaw, cheese were cold, making a GREAT paradox. The Classic Beef was relatively mundane in flavor, but it all came together with the freshness, sending my soul up to the "Satisfied" realm. I found pouring small amounts of queso to each bite helped. Then I tried the Korean BBQ Beef. The beef were like miniature brisket slices. I took a huge first bite, and immediately tasted a sweet and smoky beef flavor. The slaw was a nice contrast to the beef's richness. I rated the first bite a 6.4/10. However, then it really got my mouth cookin'. The next few bites were better than the previous, as the slaw's heat kicked in. It was actually my favorite of the two. My wife had the Chicken Fajita tacos w/Mexican corn. She loved hers. My son had the Fajita Chicken Burrito. He said every bite had all ingredients. I live in SoCal and was visiting family in the area and was recommended I try this place. I was a bit skeptical at first since I've yet to have good Mexican food outside of southern border states. The tacos come in a crispy flour shell which sounds strange, but it works. I got the beef taco combo with rice. The taco meat is ground beef, which is understandable for the area. Rice on the other hand made me gag a bit, because of the cheese sauce they put on it. Other than that, fast and friendly service and portion of their profits go to charity, who can argue with that. Decor is almost like Chipotle, but with more color. I will be a returning customer when I'm in the area again. read more

I had been wanting to try Tacos 4 Life and ended up picking up dinner there. The drive through was moving at a decent pace. Ordered the two taco meal with one side and an order of chips and guacamole. For the tacos I chose the Hawaiian Shrimp (grilled or fried shrimp with pineapple Ono sauce, pineapple, lettuce, green onion, toasted coconut on our soft flour tortilla) and the Crispy Eggplant (lightly breaded eggplant, cilantro pesto sauce, sautéed cherry tomatoes, lime wedge on our soft flour tortilla.) I chose the Queso Rice as my side. When I got home and opened everything I realized they had rung me up and given me chips and queso instead of guacamole. The queso was decent but not amazing. I did really like the queso rice which was just white rice with a bit of queso on it. I thought the Hawaiian shrimp taco was pretty good. I didn't know "ono sauce" = mayonnaise going in though. I would have preferred a better description since I really don't care for mayonnaise. The Crispy Eggplant taco was a hot mess. The eggplant was not properly cooked and a lime wedge doesn't go with breaded eggplant, pesto, and cherry tomatoes. All in all this was adequate but nothing I'd rush back for. read more

Not the place to go if you're looking for authentic Mexican street tacos, and not particularly mind-blowing Tex-Mex, but they got 4 stars for their charity concept. Supposedly "every meal you buy feeds a hungry kid." So there's that. I had the Chipotle Steak and Carnitas tacos--both were tasty and good-sized. House salsa was more like Marinara sauce. You also have the option of putting bottled taco sauce on your food by the soft drink fountain. Dining format is order at the counter, and put your number on the table, and they bring it out to you. Cute, casual taco joint with a drive thru. The drive thru wasn't open when we went (likely due to the high volume of customers) and online ordering was also shut down. It was very busy but they got our to go order ready pretty quickly. For vegetarians, they have two taco choices and a few bowls/salads. I had the southwest bowl and it was delicious and more food than I could eat in one sitting. My boyfriend went basic and tried the beef tacos and he enjoyed as well. P.S. I really want to like this place. I keep trying. They keep failing. Twice before I had ordered the steak nachos and the amount of cheese was minuscule. Cheese is a very important part of the nachos. This time I ordered online. Tipped 20%. Paid for extra cheese. Asked for no beans so it would be more noticeable that cheese is needed. All to no avail. Worst "manager" ever! Just started eating my food when I bit into a very long black hair. Ok, it happens. After throwing up, I called the OFallon location to tell them what happened. The girl that answered the phone acted put out and had an attitude with me. No apology or "let me make this right". She just straight up starting asking questions with an attitude. I got pissed and asked for a manager and told her I didn't like the way she was talking to me . She ignored my request and put me on hold for 5 minutes. Phenomenal place, my fiancée always passes this place because she's in the area frequently and we finally decided to go here for my birthday. It's more of a fast casual place that you can sit down or they do have a drive-through! Tacos are reasonably priced considering how big they are compared to other places that are similar. The normal person will probably eat 2 to 3 if you're a little bit hungrier, maybe four. All my tacos were really good my favorite definitely was the fried chicken and if you want something a little bit spicier I definitely recommend the mango habanero. It's similar to Fuzzys tacos in that you walk in and place your order, get a table number and then sit and wait for them to bring your food. We had a small chips and queso. Reeeeally good. Very flavorful. My daughter and I both ordered the 2 taco meal. Comes with 2 tacos a side and a soft drink. I got the buffalo chicken and Baja fish with a side of refried black beans. The tacos are delish and the size of "chalupas". Two is more than enough. Only 4 stars because they don't offer and beer or margaritas. It's not cheap but, not crazy expensive. The flavor combo was good added some of my corn side on it to give it a little more spice. Hubby liked his food and really loved the cheesy rice. The corn I had was good but really hot like it came out of a microwave took awhile for it to cool down. One complaint I had is the flour puffy shells tasted like they were made maybe the day before they were hard to bite into and a little stale taste to them. It took some strong teeth to bite them and then pull the bite away. That would have to be my only complaint. I will give them another chance to see if maybe I just got a bad batch of shells. I loved my tacos and I would get them again. The Mexican cream corn was like canned cream corn, nothing like Mexican corn. I wouldn't recommend this. The fried chicken taco was just okay, mainly lettuce and just a piece of chicken. Very plain chicken taco. This place is nice to try but is very over priced. I would come back for the tacos however I wouldn't get the nachos or the corn. We came by for a snack in the afternoon AND to support their mission. We were greeted at the door by an employee and handed a menu. There was also a menu board posted near the registers. There was a bit of a line but three registers going kept the line moving so that it took perhaps eight minutes to reach the front of the line. Our order was taken quickly and politely. Any questions we had were answered. I was asked for my name for the order but also given a number to place at our table. Food was brought to us in a speedy fashion and we were asked if we needed anything else. I noticed that tables were quickly cleaned and readied for the next group of diners. I had a beef taco in a "puffy shell" which I really liked and my friend had an order of queso and chips. My taco had a generous, tasty filling (not at all reminiscent of the local Taco Bell) some of which ended up on the aluminum tray (no paper wrappers!) An employee asked if we needed anything and I asked for a fork. Wowzers, she returned with a "real" piece of serviceware. Food quality, value for the money, quick service, polite employees, a clean dining environment...what's not to like? We will definitely be back. read more
