My wife and I have eaten here three times. Twice for taco week in Indy, and another time for their taco Monday. It's strange they have taco Monday, and not taco Tuesday. Nonetheless, the tacos were still good. I love have two tortillas, and onions/cilantro on my tacos. The tables were a little dirty like other reviews mentioned. I guess they're under new ownership now, so we will see how things go from there. If you go, I suggest you go on Mondays, tacos are almost half off. Also, the hot salsa is really hot! read more

All three stars are for the good food. The two missing stars are for the horrendous service. I have visited Tacos and Tequila 6 or 8 times and the service has been consistently awful every time. You're lucky to get a refill. You'll go 10-15 minutes without seeing your server. Food is on point though. The tomatillo salsa is good and the steak is cooked well. I ordered the fish and shrimp tacos... BLAND! inre to the condiments on the table and the salsa bowl that came with the chips ~ SO OBVIOUS they were all watered down! What the heck?! The only think I enjoyed were the chips and my raspberry/jalapeno margarita... and the waitress was nice. I didn't stay for a meal, so take this for what it's worth. I went in with a friend on a Friday around 5:30pm, and there were a few open tables, so I wouldn't really say it was "busy." Three servers walked by us multiple times, never acknowledging us, or telling us we had to walk to the cashier to put our names in for a table. When we finally got the hint from other customers, the woman at the register was incredibly rude. Pro tip: turn around and go to a restaurant down the street and save yourself the trouble. read more

Stopped here for fourth meal at 10:40, and the staff was more than willing to accommodate us. I had the tacos Al pastor and a side of guac. My family has the Tres Enchiladas. Both delicious! Service was friendly and prompt. Nice tequila selection. I had Tres Agaves Blanco and Estrella Jalisco beer. Tequila was served chilled with lime and was very tasty. We tried Tacos and Tequila a couple months ago with great expectations since it is owned by the same people who run Barbecue and Bourbon (also on Main - and one of our favorite places to eat). Unfortunately our experience fell flat because there are some really great authentic taco joints in the area whose tacos (and prices) outshine Tacos & Tequila. Decided to take this place for a spin after it made the news this morning. Needless to say.... We weren't impressed. Let's start off with the Lengua(tongue). The meat had to be at least 2-3 days old. There was no way that it was fresh in anyway shape or form. Next - Steak... low quality cut, no seasoning, over cooked, tasteless. Chicken - dry, shredded, over cooked, bland Pastor - overly sweet, messy, not cooked on a spit as it should be, to "saucy" Carnitas - this was the only thing that was edible. We ordered 10 tacos and out of the 10 only 2 were edible. The sauce had 0 flavor what so ever and was extremely watery. No lime came with our order as typical street tacos are served with. I'll chalk it up as a loss, we will not return. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. read more

Really like this restaurant, they have some fantastic and creative tacos along with delicious and eccentric margaritas. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the wait staff is fantastic. My only complaint is that food can be a little expensive for more specialty items. That said, this is my new go to for tacos, perfectly cooked by nice people! read more

This place has great authentic Mexican food!! You'll read reviews of a "lack of flavor"...but that's because it's not tex-mex food. The flavor of the meats is authentic Mexican cooking! Great selections of meats for tacos, cali burrito is a staple of our families order. Chips and queso are a great size for the price, yummy salsa options FOR FREE once you sit and a HUGE selection of margaritas. The owner is always there working day and night providing the best experience he can to his customers. Truly a hard working family owned restaurant right on Main St. The one complaint is the service at times can be on the slower side but if i have chips and a margarita i don't mind at all. We ate here on their second day open. The food was good. Service was a little slow, but it could be because we sat outside. I got a gringo taco and a steak taco. The steak taco had really good flavor but there was some gristle in it. The chips were really good. The salsa was good but its in squeeze bottles, so if there was a chunk it was hard to squeeze out. I was very unimpressed with this place as was my husband. My enchiladas were soggy and had little to no flavor with the smallest amount of chicken stuffed in them. His burrito was also soggy like the tortillas were not cooked enough. I would not recommend this place but hopefully anyone else dining here has a better experience. read more

I really wanted to give this place a chance, so I've been there twice recently. Sadly both times the food was pretty sub-par. Their queso is like the stuff you can get in a jar next to the tortilla chips at the grocery store. Their guacamole is mostly onion, we couldn't even finish it & usually we scarf down guac. The chorizo is extremely greasy. I did enjoy the horchata and the steak taco I had the first time I went. Went back for Savor Speedway last night to try their $5 nacho deal, my boyfriend said they reminded him of the nachos he had for school lunch as a kid. I don't expect to be going back. read more

Nice addition to Main Street in Speedway. It's a small space but the food was quite good. I had the taco special which came with many options including two types of fish. I went with the fish tacos and was quite happy. Having recently moved here from San Diego I have become spoiled on fantastic fish tacos. It's a new place so have to give them time to get footing although on a good start! Salsa was awesome and our burritos tasted good, think they'd been better served on a metal type heated dish. Having plastic type dishes take's away a bit, we think? I'm sure it's a cost thing and can appreciate that but seemed generic? If we want generic, we'll go to El Rodeo or a place like that. Overpriced in my opinion, but the food was authentic and it all tasted great. We tried the steak and chicken tacos, both were excellent. We also got the chips and queso and while I don't feel they were worth $5, they did the job and the queso was good. We saved a little room for dessert and the churros were warm and hit the spot. Ok...so where do I start? I went down there because it was within walking distance of our air BnB and they seem to have a pretty good rating so I thought I would check them out. Well, I wish I would have kept walking more. So I ordered the Beef Nachos and a gringo taco and a Raspberry Margarita. Well, the ground beef was more like a chilli consistancy and was pretty bland tasting. The queso cheese was also pretty plain tasting. If the added some puree jalepenos to give it a little kick and some taste. Anyway so you pile up some chips on a plate and slop that chilli meat stuff and queso on it and you guessed it...it looks a little bit like vomit on chips. Its a hot mess. They really need to rethink how they plate that mess. Maybe the chicken Nachos are better looking and tastier. The gringo taco was just Nachos in a shell without the queso. Same meat. Not very good. Now if you want a margarita with alcohol in it then you may need to either go elsewhere or ask them to put some in it. I could not even taste any in mine. And for nearly 7 dollars...you would think it would taste like a Margarita and not a slushy you bought from a gas station. The place was nice and clean and cozy and friendly atmosphere and the wait staff were super nice and friendly and I had no issue at all with any of that. It was just the food...or at least the food that I ordered above. Maybe their street tacos are better. read more

Great food and drinks, the owner is awesome and so is he daughter! I've been here before at a busy time.. but this was the first time I was completely ignored. Tina took our order for food and drinks and never returned, she filled everyone's glasses but mine and my boyfriends. I even had to go up and ask for the check and she brought the other tables check first who came in after us and didn't ask for it. It then took her about another ten minutes to bring us the check.
