This spot, located just outside the main Brickell hustle, delivered in a big way. The atmosphere hits you immediately. Between the roped entrance with security and the "Miami model" host, it carries the posh energy you expect from the area, yet it's anchored by a charming 1950s-style kitchen aesthetic with throwback tables and chairs. It feels like a high-end experience, but the pricing remains surprisingly grounded for the quality of the food at a real good price. The kitchen is clearly operating at a high level. Often, the chopped beef or "standard" steak option at a taco spot is a throwaway, but the Bistec Encebollado was phenomenal. The combination of the chopped steak (slow cooked ground beef) with the burnt cheese crust and caramelized onions was a standout. I also tried the Suadero Atarantado, which served as a perfectly executed, reliable standard, and paired it with their Elote and Guacamole. The corn was prepared exactly as it should be, and the guacamole was impressively smooth and creamy. A highlight for me was the hot sauce tray that came with the meal, a wonderful sampling of house made sauces with tortilla strip tester From the sharp waitstaff to the chefs who clearly know their craft, Atarantados manages to be "cool" without sacrificing the substance of the food. Absolutely every time I come here it is a delight. From the food that's yummy , to the service everything here is top-notch. One of my favorites is the carne asada tacos and it is a staple every time I go. I love the variety of sauces that has an extra kick to boost the tacos. Miami is severely lacking tacos. These tacos are definitely the more authentic ones in the area, probably the most authentic in Wynwood. My only gripe is that I'm unsure if it's priced well. I'm not sure if 2 carne asada is worth $14. One chicken taco is $6 and ribeye starts at $10 each. These aren't huge tacos either. My favorite thing about this place is the sauces that are offered. I love the assortment they have. The papas enchiladas are also a great order. Very flavorful and a good portion. I thought the carne asada addition was a bit tough unfortunately. read more

There are soooooo many taco spots in wynwood, like an overload, so it makes it tough to really know which ones are worth going and which ones to void. Tacos Atarantados is one to not avoid. I've never been to Mexico but i can only imagine what I'd have there would be close to what i had here. I randomly went because I've seen them on a few Miami foodie pages and had to check them out. The only reason I'm giving this establishment a 5-star review today is because of Manager Edgar Duque. This is my fourth time coming here. The tacos are delicious and the service is generally okay, but seating six people at a small outdoor table at 7 PM because "all reservations are met" is unacceptable. The manager noticed I was extremely dissatisfied and considering leaving a very negative review due to several irregularities I observed. He stepped in, handled the situation professionally, and ultimately saved the experience for us. Ownership--you were saved today. Authentic, yummy Mexican spot in Wynwood. There was ample seating when i entered and i was sat immediately. Our waitress was very welcoming and answered all of our questions. We ordered a bunch of tacos. I prefer flour, so i got the abrazo de ribeye wrapped in cheese and then the flour tortilla. The meat was delicious, and i love how it was served with cilantro and onions. I also had the cachetada with tromo de res and i loved the chipotle spread on top. The guacamole could use some flavor like lime and salt. But i think that is how they traditionally make it in mexico, but it is just bland to me. The restaurant is decorated so cute. We were here a week ago on a whirlwind trip through Miami. I love coming to Wynwood to what's happening. We happened into Atarantados and had a great experience for an early dinner on a Friday night. They have good beer on draft and the food was a-mazing. We had the carnitas tacos w/ pineapple-- so excellent & fresh. I just loved the fresh corn tortillas. I would recommend going for dinner here so you get to experience the sala de despecho together with your meal. The staff are super friendly and are a key part of the great ambiance and vibe in this place. The sing along, sombreros, and flares make this place unique and extremely lively. Keep In mind I had on Prada shoes with a Ralph Lauren jacket and pants to match . My fiancé who has been to Mexico continually told me how authentic it felt inside. There's high barstools, low tables, a bar/cantina, it all feels chaotic and noisy but somehow adds to the charm. Before we get to the food let me just say how disappointing our service was. Our waitress was extremely dismissive and very cold. Towards the end of our dinner she gave us our check and instead of showing us WHAT we paid for, she simply tried to just show us the grand total. When we asked to see the check, we noticed that the tip was already included in the total. This felt very wrong and put a sour taste in our mouths, but I am simply here to rate the food and vibes. Now for the food. Let me be clear here, the food is authentic, the prices are MIAMI authentic. But the food was very good. I got a cachetada de ribeye and two tacos de carne asada and oh my Lord. The meat was tender. So tender. And it is portioned well. You also get salsas to put into your tacos which is nice as well. Each plate comes with onions and cilantro which you can generously place onto your food. For dessert we opted for the churros and the cachetada de Gloria. That cachetada de Gloria needs some serious visual work because it came out looking scary but the taste was surprising. The dulce de leche, cheese, caramel and chopped walnuts all went together perfectly. The churro was underwhelming to say the least. Then another party came in (non-black) and I asked if they were friends of the manager so they said these people had reservations. I was confused bc they claimed the place was full. So then the next excuse was that they were closed. I asked what time they closed and he said 2:30, I told him it's 1:49. So from there, no more excuses.
