This is the second time we have tried this place. We placed our order online, drove 45 min just for the person in front to tell me they just NOW ran out of the rib-eye. I asked the gentlemen how that was possible if we placed the order 45 min ago. Stated that he doesn't start the order till I get there so it's fresh. When I asked him what's the purpose of placing an order online if you aren't gonna make it till I get there? All he could tell me was that he could refund me. I went to Tacos Barbon a couple of weeks ago because I want to support local mom & pop restaurants. I see your advertisements on FB all the time. I live in Verrado, so I wanted to support you. I showed up and stood in line for 15 minutes. Once I got to the front of the line, I was told by the hostess that I could have gone inside the restaurant. While in line, two parties left since they did not want to wait. Once I was seated, I sat for 20 minutes without any service--I left like the others I watched leave. I can't imagine Tacos Barbon staying in business with so many customers leaving before being seated. I know it has to be difficult to find good help, but the chica working as the hostess had an FML attitude. She was the primary reason I left without being served. All the great photos and videos of the food you have on social media are worthless if you cannot find good help. read more

Great tacos! Located inside of the lobby of Holiday Inn and Suites. The Barbon Style tacos are cooked to order ribeye. Took a little longer than I expected, but they were delicious. It looks like the hotel is currently remodeling to give this place more space, so I look forward to returning! read more

Not very good, to start i got there thinking it was a food truck and it wasnt open and called the number and the girl was very rude almost laughing at me because it didn't know it was inside the holiday inn hotel. So i go inside and it was supposed to be ready by 6:17 and i showed up at close to 6:30 and it wasnt ready. Now another girl is helping me and she was very rude. It was all very strange. But i dont think young generationals dont get it. So when i get home the order was wrong i was missing a birria taco but got 3 extra extra taco of another meat. So it wasnt a lose but not what i ordered. And it wasnt that good. So a lose none the less. Probably wont go back. Sad because i had higher hope for something on the west side. read more

I went here for lunch. I was skeptical of the place so did not order much. I ordered 2 tacos barbon. The meat was OK but not great. The chimichurri was decent but I can make this equally as good at home. The gross thing is the amount of grease on the tortillas. It looks like they dipped them in the deep fryer, it was pretty gross. Just for that reason alone I will not be back. Also got the 8oz of their fire salsa. Unfortunately, we never received food, and left after waiting an hour. The kitchen did not seem to be particularly busy, and we were seated at 11:30 am for lunch. Our waitress was either overwhelmed or clueless. After telling us the kitchen was behind, she came to our table 10 minutes later and asked if she had taken our order. By far the Best Tacos in the Phoenix area if not all of Arizona.... I travel and eat a lot in Mexico and have always wondered why I couldn't find tacos that taste like the ones in Mexico in Arizona. I thought that the taste and flavor just couldn't be transitioned across the border. I have tried at least thirty different taco restaurants from Scottsdale to Phoenix to Glendale and have never found any tacos that come close to tacos I get in Tijuana or other parts of Mexico. Well today was a game changer... I saw a ad for Tacos Barbon in Goodyear on Facebook and decided to try it out. I was a little hesitant because the restaurant was located inside the Holiday Inn on Dysart Rd and I-10. To our surprise the tacos were amazing, just like I get in Tijuana. I had the Red Birra Tacos with a side of Consome with Birra meat to dip the tacos in...simply incredible! I also had the Birra and Ribeye soft tacos as well, which were also incredible! Their Horchata was also the best I've had... People who know and appreciate real authentic Mexican food will love this place... You have to try this place, you will not be disappointed... read more

Amazing treat just being guests at the hotel in Goodyear, and to find a legit taco option open until 10! Ummmmm ok! (Also, while swimming hop out and go to the window that the bartender can pour you drinks from and get back in the jacuzzi ) The first night we tried 6 different tacos, with corn tortillas and the keto cheese tortillas. All in all they did a really good job!! We are in GOODYEAR, at a HOLIDAY INN, not a food truck in Tijuana... so grade according to the curve. Food was fresh, service was great, atmosphere nice, portions totally fair, and flavors spot on. Had a nice cozy vibe inside Holiday Inn with a cool bar attached to dining area. Seen this place on fb and wanted to go there and try the food. We ordered the burria and the ribeye tacos... they were so delicious!!!! You can tell they use quality meats and cook it to perfection! The birria taco they slow cooked the beef and made its own broth which they gave a side of to dip your taco in or pour the broth over your taco. Best taco I ever had! Tacos Barbon makes a party out of just ordering & eating tacos! Kept seeing customers posting about Tacos Barbon on social media & had to see what it was I missing. Visited them twice & both times we had a great experience with some bangin' tacos. They offer some amazingly big and tasty portions of chips & guacamole. They have a couple aguas to choose from, add some chamoy to the rim & you will not regret it. The crew are super nice & will banter with you if that's your thing. The seating area is big & clean. Waitress with red hair openly mocked my dad for asking if we could place an order after being overlooked for 30 minutes in the dining room. She didn't know that I had gotten up to go to the restroom after she took our order, and was walking behind her and the male host. I heard her mock my dad in the hallway in a high pitched voice "can we order?" The manager came out after I let the host know that I heard their entire exchange. The manager was apologetic and offered to comp our meal. But we were not comfortable staying, especially since we would still have to be around the waitress and host. Oddly enough the waitress did not come out of the kitchen once she knew I had heard what she said, since at that point the entire dining room and lobby were listening and knew exactly what waitress it was. She needs to learn that in business you never know who is around you when you're speaking. So if you're going to run your mouth you better be able to handle the repercussions, especially when your job is based off of tips. And now it's publicly known how you treat customers. After reading through others reviews it's obviously a reoccurring issue with the staffs behaviors. Management needs to understand that their employees are the reason they're losing business and the events of tonight are going to be repeated by the persons in the dining room and lobby to people they know. First of all, like many, if you know this place from back in their taco truck days, you will be disappointed when trying them again at their now physical location. In short, the meat was nowhere near the same quality as it was previously--it was tough, diced small and not in slices like before, and was cold as well. Guacamole was bright green for whatever reason, not natural as it has been in the past. Tacos were also smaller and skimpy, and only came with ONE tortilla, for a street taco. I've been eating tacos since I was an infant--street tacos ALWAYS have two. Mind you, we went on a Friday, ordered JUST seven tacos to go, six carne asada and one al pastor, so nothing overly complicated, and staff was still incredibly slow in giving us our order--40 minutes minimum. They are not the same place as before. This place is no longer worth the price. It used to be justifiable due to the quality of the meat but again, they are open seven days a week now instead of two, so there's bound to be some shortage of something somewhere. Really sad :( I do not like to normally leave bad reviews, but I just don't want people to be disappointed like me after being excited to try the place at the new location. It's kind of ironic, because the staff wears shirts that state, "Not Your Average Taco." This used to be the case, but not now since getting established. I would argue that it is below average and definitely over priced compared to the quality, taste, and affordability of other great places in Phoenix. Taste is simply just okay here. Places like Tacos Calafia, however, do not disappoint despite having multiple locations. Consistency is key, and Tacos Barbón does not have it. Hopefully they take their short comings and learn from them--I wish them the best. **Side note: My family derives directly from Guadalajara and KNOWS what actual birria is (goat), and this place is sadly another one of those places that hopped onto the unauthentic birria train (beef). Very sad to see yet another Mexican place fall flat and serve unauthentic food from Jalisco--it's an insult to the culture there in our state and one that is very rampant among Mexican establishments. If you're not going to respect the dish and serve it correctly, just don't do it! Avoid spreading misinformation and wrong expectations! Do not come here if you are expecting to eat authentic traditional Mexican food. Instead, please head to El Güero Birria de Chivo for actual birria and handmade tortillas--you will not be disappointed. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service! I never come and rate a restaurant but I was appalled at the way we were treated here. We ordered as usual and about 10 minutes in, they come and tell us they don't have any rice. They told us it would be about a 30 min wait which we decided it's fine, by the time we eat our tacos it should be out. Come an hour later, no rice so we ask how much longer. They say 15 minutes. We tell them to just refund it. As we're leaving they tell us "oh the rice is ready do you still want it?" We said fine whatever we'll take it to go. Come to find out because they refunded us already, they say oh I'm sorry we can only give you 1 side of rice to go. We ordered 4. Seriously?!? Can't even compensate for the horrible service and mistake on your part for miscommunication between staff? This was our first and last time coming here. A friend of ours suggested that we try Tacos Barbon. We went for a late lunch today. We were the only ones in there although there were a couple of takeout orders. You have to ring the bell at the host desk for service. I rang it five times with a minute between each ring before someone finally came out. The female was not at all pleasant. She took our order and gave us a table card. I was looking over the bill while waiting for our food. There was a $1 charge on it. I asked about it when our food was brought out. $1 to use a card over cash. I had a Sonoran taco. My husband had a ribeye taco. They are small tacos. The meat in both of them was overcooked, dry, and old tasting. The lemonade was very weak. Again, the female was very unpleasant. There was not a thank you ever uttered, not a smile. There are so many places that are 100% better, fresher, and more authentic than Tacos Barbon. read more

We went there with my husband and bought different types of tacos. I really liked the birria tacos, so I would probably go back for those. The ribeye, barbon, and asada tacos were a bit salty. My son loves asada tacos and he didn't like them which was surprising to us bc he loves tacos! The mini quesadilla really tiny for $3.50! The drinks are delicious!! First the good. The food taste great. Kudos to the cook. Now the not so good. You have to order upon entry. Before you sit down you have to order. We've done this at other Mexican restaurants but this seemed a bit more upscale since it's inside hotel. We couldn't even order a glass of water with our meal. We were told we could go to bar to get water. We we're given a number to put on our table. A young man brought us our food. When we got our tacos they were extremely small. I had to get the squeeze bottles of salsa for our tacos from another table. The bar was crowded so very inconvenient for two senior citizens to try to get water. I asked if there any sides we could other and was informed no. We were done quickly with our small tacos and returned home hungry. We decided to give this place a try and it was a complete disappointment. Like other reviews say this place is located inside a holiday inn. No signs or directions. You have to order at the hostess stand where no one is really managing it so you have to ring a bell to get any attention. You order food there and pay then if u want alcohol you have to go into the bar area order and pay there. We ended up just sitting at the bar to wait for our food and we told the bartender to keep the tab open. I ordered a Cadillac margarita which was gross they don't use real limes just some sort of premix lime juice he had just two bottled beers which were fine. Once we got the food it was already cold. We had ordered 4 quesabirria tacos. 2 for him 2 for me. They brought them out all on one plate. She didn't offer us another plate she just walked away we had to ask for another plate. Then we also had to ask for napkins because no utensils were offered. Service is just poor. The bartender is not sanitary. She would cut limes, then ring someone up touching money never washed her hands or wore gloves and would just go back to cutting limes. Then She basically kick us out asking if "we were ready to go" so we decided it was time to leave because it basically defeated the point of keeping the tab open(not like i wanted another drink anyways) We paid our tab and just left. When Taco Barbon first opened it was amazing! Pricey but worth it. I am willing to pay to have quality and consistency. Sadly I am not sure what has happened I have went 3 different times recently to make sure it was not a fluke and tried the taco truck 2x and the restaurant 1x and the Al pastor tacos extremely greasy they have not been like this before. The birria tacos (which were my favorite) are fatty and missing a spice or the recipe may have changed. The ribeye taco also was missing something. They are no longer flavorful like before. Very bummed because this was my go to place. :-( read more

Hired them for catering to feed over 150 people and food was definitely not up to par. Communication was lacking in the sense of the experience. Condiments were missing such as salsa and what not. All they had was the extras we paid for even though the vetting packages include red and green salsa and if you know about tacos you know they aren't complete without salsa. Definitely wouldn't recommend way better service and quality for much cheaper out there. read more
