I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

Tacos have never steered me wrong. Taco makers have always been some of my favorite people. I ordered two queso tacos that, of course, came with consumme. My eyes rolled back in my head when I took the first bite. And the good, thick Mexican cheese, melted and abundant. Not some tasteless, cheap, inconsequential slop. My only regret? I live 10 miles away up a mountain and I couldn't run right back and order one more queso taco! I was literally starving for one more. So, I made some poverty nachos - cheap tortilla chips with cheddar melted on top in a microwave - and dipped them in the consumme. No matter how busy, the wait is never long but your food is made to order. They have an abundant salsa bar and, if you sit outside, an employee is cooking up something on a plancha. We don't know what. We have only ever sat inside or carried our tacos home. Next door there's a modern bakery next door with cakes, bars, cookies and traditional Hispanic treats.
