Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly young lady who took our order and payment. Everything is self service, ie., the condiments and drinks, etc. Our number was called for us to pick up our food. Everything was delicious and the soda was just right. We enjoyed our food. This is a very nice taco place run by friendly people with good food. It is close to my mom's house and the food feels authentic. Most of us had delicious tacos but my son tried the burrito (it didn't last long because he's a teenager who eats like a ravenous shark). The salsa bar is nice with various spice levels. It also has a whipped guacamole sauce and diced onions/cilantro. We'd make a point to eat here each visit, and it is great being able to order the number of tacos you need to fill you up. read more

My favorite taco spot while I was living in Arizona for about 2 years! It was my go-to place since it was super close to my work and I would go at least 3-4 times/months. My favorites were the asada tacos and quesadilla. It was around $3/taco and $8 for a quesadilla. I loved their horchata, it tasted very delicious and not overly sweet. I loved their sauce/topping bar because there are so many unlimited toppings (cilantro, onions, lemons, 3 different kinds of salsa, pico de Gallo). There is usually a line if you go around noon but it moves super fast. The staff is pretty friendly and welcoming. The tacos and asada are freshly made to order and always tastes delicious! It is very clean and spacious with plenty of seating! Parking is super easy and plenty of space.. definitely recommend this spot! read more

They do not offer lengua tacos, A MUST have in this type of taco shop. We ordered a cheese crisp which is very good. Coming to Tacos Calafia made for a perfect post workout brunch. My hubby had the cabeza burrito, while I ordered the nopales, cabeza, and carne asada street tacos on flour tortillas. He and I shared the quesadilla and added pollo to it. There are three salsas today, medium spice red and green salsas and a decently hot red super spicy salsa. They also offered guacamole, chopped white onions and cilantro and limes to enhance the already delicious flavors of all the foods. I ordered a Michelada, which was bigger than I thought it would be! It felt very refreshing along with the tacos. I ordered mine with Dos Equis beer. I like having such a great taco place nearby. I have been coming to their Peoria and Surprise locations for years & I've always loved their food and service. Lately, their portion sizes have seemingly shrunk and their prices have gone up. I'm attributing that to the recent tariffs, so I'm not that upset since I figured I was supporting a small business. Come to find out that the workers DON'T get their tips. All the money in that full tip jar goes to the register, which after balancing the register, it most likely goes into the deposit for the day and eventually ends up in the owner's paycheck. Just don't accept tips instead of pocketing them. We will NEVER return. read more

While the staff were friendly, we arrived around 8 PM on a "Taco Tuesday," and they had already finished cleaning the grill and seemed ready to close up.
